that is just fucking ridicules words cant even describe i was in mesa at harkens theater and it was fucking crazy we got outside and it was 730 and it was pich black but nothing like this these pics were like at 3 or 4 just insane
Read the "Worst Hard Time" by Tim Egan.. it chronicles the dust bowl from the late 20's through the mid 30's This event was one of hundreds of dust storms. It was certainly the biggest and got the attention of the public but people were enduring life like this for years before the federal government finally acted. Anyway, it is an awesome period of US history.
I know it's supposed to create some visual excitement, but I rarely will watch documentaries that use this panning and zooming technique on old photos.
Very well done. My grandparents lived through that and had some stories, so seeing the pics and that narrative brought those to mind. I was also just reading this article on CNN... looks like we'll get some color pics/digital video of those dust storms soon enough...
I guess I can't post links, but there's an article on CNN's website about the current ongoing severe droughts across "much of the U.S." and how they'll get worse.
Droughts and economic disaster. It's really the 1930's all over again. Good times. :-/
Excellent example of Photo Story 3-style video. I really appreciate your videos. I bought Photo Story 2 long ago, but it was underpowered and didn't get used. Version 3 is much better, and it's free. Thanks for getting the word out. My first try came out okay (little yellow sailboat).
I am studying this at school
