I also became a vegetarian because of Skinny Bitch. It's a brilliant book! If you think the videos in this are bad... go watch a documentary titled Earthlings by Nation Earth. It's narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. It's very graphic, but also realistic about what the majority of people do when it comes to food/clothing/entertainment/zoo's etc and animals. Though there are exceptions. I was a crying mess watching it. I'm a vegetarian, and I only buy milk & cheese from RSPCA approved brands.

why do we feel so superieur over other living creatures?! we are not better, not superieur over other creautures. in Belgium (where a live) we are on a better track, we care a lot about animal rights. i live for my animals a have 24 cats, all of them were abandon, 15 of them were only 1 month old. i'm glad we have organisation like peta and green peace that strive for better animal rights
Not all dairy farms are bad! Our cows have free standing stalls and go outside for most of the day in a nice green pasture! Ban large operations its the small farmers that care about their animals. Most of our cows live to be 15 to 20 years old and we dont send them to slaughter when they arent able to produce milk anymore. They just live our the rest of their life with us because they are our babies!
@DalekGirl93 Being vegan isn't good for you. It's promoted as being healthy and while it somewhat is, your body isn't getting certain nutrients that it needs. My aunt was a vegan for a few years and she went to the doctor to have some tests done. They told her that she was extremely malnourished and that if she did not start eating meat (to get some protein in her) she would die. Now, she is much healthier and is able to do things that she couldn't do while she was a vegan.
@brandonlee19651993 if you go about begin vegan correctly, you can live a completely normal and healthy lifestyle. it's more then just not eating certain things. it's also about taking care of yourself, the animals, and the world.

I'm Unitarian and my church helped in a study that produced a 400 page document on ethical eating covering everything from vegetarianism to vegan eating. You can be just as healthy if not more. For one thing, vegans have a much less chance of heart disease... which is the largest cause of death in the united states.

Then I watched bones going through a grinder when I was told I'll be filming with Ready Steady Cook...This wasn't at all correct and they lied. Now I've noticed a cow will die without being milked. Now I only buy organic and welfare stuff, I know they've been treated well and I don't support anyone like Bernard Matthews. Sure, I feel sorry, but they've lived good.

I watched this and was litterally in tears. This is DISGUSTING! I am like her in a sense where I have saved kittens from a drain down at the local shops and take in animals etc....I eat meat and I only eat 3 veggies but after I saw this I am seriously going to try and eat more veggies and go vegaterian...
I love that one of her causes is helping animals, because I look up to her as a musical theatre performer and now even moreso because she is an animal supporter. I am both of those things, and her contribution to PETA really inspires me.
On a lighter note, I think it's adorable that she named her cats after characters from the musical Hair. So appropriate. :)
