There really is no blame, RIP to those who lost their lives and condolences to the driver... but this is a risky to sport to both participate in and watch. If anything it's a shame that all spectators seem to have a false sense of security in the numbers standing track-side... just because everyone's doing in no way means it is close to safe.

This isn't an isolated incident. There are more spectators killed in racing than drivers. The PEOPLE and the race organizers are at fault. There were no barricades defining the limits and anyone standing that close to trucks on the edge of control are just plain stupid.

All youtube comments aside, I think we all agree this was an unfortunate, isolated incident that should not have happened & cannot happen again. The goal now should be to find a way for all (BLM, MDR, SCORE, SNORE, BITD) to ensure they are doing all they can to protect the supporters & spectators. It's just matter of sitting down, coming up with a plan & implementing it.

Both BLM & MDR had some responsibilities they failed to meet at this race, safety related. As did the driver. Some commenting don't know that there are spectator stand back rules, as well as driver speed limit reduction rules at places like the starting line, pit, and jump areas, reason being these areas are where accidents are more likely to happen. However, lovers of the sport know this too, that's why they "congregate" more in those spots, they want to be there if a crash happens. :(

But also if you notice the truck that was in front of him was going quite a bit slower, so i think what happen is he came off that jump and while he was airborne he seen he was gonna hit the guy in front. so while in air he made adjustments,by hitting his breaks, or turning to one side. Then when he landed it was just too much.

Everyone seems to want to point fingers but when it comes down to it, it's your own responsibility to determine how close you want to be to the race track. In fact, he hadn't a drink at all and was not standing RIGHT on the course. Unfortunately, it still claimed his life. I go back to my comments made on the other "over-posted" youtube video out there. At these rates of speed, with that much momentum built up, someone would have been hit regardless. Once a truck rolls at that speed, it's inevitable. People, if you don't know those involved, whether driver or spectator, try to use some tact. Sloppy has to live with this, it will not be easy.

There's more than one narrative to this situation & each is valid: 1. Organizers were irresponsible with others' lives. 2. Attendees were irresponsible w/their own lives in ways they were warned about in Drivers Ed (or not). 3. It's a tragic demonstration of evolutionary processes. 4. These local guys will do this at the fastest part of the race where the trucks are running at 100mph+, they dig deep ruts then put thin plywood over them and throw dirt on the plywood so the drivers don't see them and the trucks end up digging in and going end over end usually ending up in the crowd.
