I avoided this video for a long time, because I know the price of war. I dont need to be convinced. I have seen the pictures of depleted uranium babies and I have seen the internet videos of war crimes and atrocities.
The problem is not that people arent aware, its that they dont care. And alot of them actually think its pretty cool.
Remeber when you were maybe 16 or 17 and you started to develop empathy? Yeah, most people never get past that phase.

Am I appalled at this behavior? Of course. Am I shocked? Not at all. There is a reason our soldiers are behaving this way. The same way they did in Viet Nam with the taking of ears. It is a gross failure of leadership.

@kovacsfitness I don't think any amount of leadership can prevent certain soldiers from acting this way...I think the problem is these guys have a license to kill and sometimes people in that position take things to this disgusting degree, seeming to actually take pleasure in the brutality.

I would like to add that I feel if these stories are true, the soldiers are acting out in rage against a buddy they lost to a cowardly IED attack or civilian clothed ambush in a food market. Can you imagine the paranoia there must be for the soldier? I feel if I was fighting for my life, I might as well too blaze shit if it looks funny in fear for myself. WAR sucks, but what frustrates me is if this was going on in the US we'd take out the trash. They do nothing.

@kovacsfitness no, it's just psychology. You put people in these situations and this is the result. Even if only a small percent of soldiers are bad apples so to speak, that still means a terrible number of people are going to get hurt, plus all the civilians that get in the way of inevitable collateral damage. And that only fuels more hatred.

@juna2509 I don't think our soldiers should ever stoop to their level though and take pleasure in the killing and brutality. Also look at what went on in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.. There's simply no defending that evil sadistic behavior. It's disgusting beyond belief.

BTW, someone getting raped in a third world country isn't really evidence of anything. US soldiers have done worse.

I want to put spanish captions to this video, I'm unsure as whether to use this version or your original version with no images, as your voice in the original version portrays so much feeling and pain and these images are just so, so hard especially when subtitling as much repetition is required and I end up feeling physically ill for many days.
