I was surprised how easily Texas mopped up Missouri, I expected it to be a close game. In the end it was shown that they were equal to a Northwestern type of team (in the Alamo Bowl, the better team lost to be honest).

The year before, Mizzou was a good team, but in 2008 the Tigers were really overrated, probably would have even lost to Notre Dame in a bowl (at least judging by the way they destroyed Hawaii).

Good team but not an elite caliber team. Texas and OU were and still are elite teams, didn't surprise me at all that MO got beat by Texas.

I'd probably place Missouri about on the level of teams like Iowa, Florida State (recently), Cal, Oklahoma State, Boise State, and Arkansas (under Houston Nutt). Good team that occasionally has great years, but not quite up with teams like Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Florida, Penn State, Virginia Tech, or West Virginia (before Rodriguez bolted for Michigan).
