Whoa, I never thought of setting up GHR's with the bench like that. Very interesting thought to keep in mind when I'm stuck in fitness centers. I've been using low-weight GM's to target my hamstrings as assistance work, but would prefer GHR's as I'm doing full-body lifting already and the lower-back load may end up being a bit much.
Thanks a ton, this will help keep my options open.
when u do the body extension thing, do u keep ur back arched and straight? I was doing them like that, and my middle and lower back muscles kept knotting up.
Nice squat Layne. You also gave me a great idea of how I can do GHRs. I can use the cable row. It will be good to have the bench to push off of since I probably can't do a full GHR yet.
Why, what a highly intelligent thing of you to say Markus. I will keep that in mind. Lifting heavy never put muscle on anyone. Thank you for your fantastic insight.
how many times what? Oh how many times will anonymous youtube haters run their yap and post asinine comments? Hmmm, I dunno man, probably thousands. Chalk yourself down for one :)
where do ur knees sit on the bench pad, the nearer edge or the outer edge. Trying to understand if at all, ur thighs are against the pad in the bottom position?
you can do them on a lat pulldown machine with a faom padding rolled up for the knees and use a stick with one arm to give yourself a spot if needed. great exercise. also can be done a back extention with the padding lowered alltheway down knees on the pad. great job layne!!!
Hey Layne im just wondering why you switched from the blue rehband knee sleeves to your new ones (Convicts i think?)

Markus is envious because his 90lb curl videos aren't nearly as impressive. Was that an assholish thing to say? ;)

Strong strength.
How's your bench? Would you say you're pretty much "over" the pec injury, or are you still a few lbs. from where you could be on it?

i pulled the bench over
biolayne 2 years ago
Hey Layne, is that the actual pulldown bench you are using to do your glute ham raises on, or did you move a bench over?
I'd love to do some GHR's but we don't have the machine or a pulldown machine with a seat like that at our gym.
