@MoustacheKitten Ok, fine quality design... in other words not just stylistic cues, but the design of an operating system that is intuitive and logical. PCs assume the user will adapt to them, while Mac adapts to the user. If this were any other product people would never be sucked in by the item that fails to adapt to the user - i.e. a knife with no human interface (no handle) would not sell, no matter how sharp it was.
@Digdigs2 I'd rather have a PC that can do ten times as much for half the price than one that "appeals to the eye". "adapting" is not really a problem for me, as long as the price and possibilites are a lot better.
@overlord848 i have no idea what you're saying. "can do bet better yes"? wtf is that even supposed to mean? I'm not even English, and you don't have to be english to speak english and have some1 understand you
@overlord848 its pretty obvious that you're an idiot for spending $1000 too much on a Mac. $2000 or more for the same quality of hardware that you could get for less than $1000 on a PC? I am smart enough to not get ripped off
Macs do have to restart, when you're on a program and the wheel of death comes up and you can't do anything. Ironically, you can't even press restart, you have to hold down the power button.
apple likes to lie alot for one pcs are not the only ones that need to restart macs have a good 2-3 of no problems but once three years past by it gets a lot of problems so yeah apple stop lieing
this is just stupid. i always leave my computer on. i use it for anything and everything (except promoting any apple products) and i only have to restart for major OS updates (you know, the kind of updates apple charges you for). even going on a 6-month deployment (navy) my wife never installed updates or turned off the computer. she never restarted or needed to.
@Wasserbienchen well, i have a high efficiency power supply, i turn my monitor off, so i'm not wasting that much energy. and i may not be on my computer 24/7 but i use remote desktop for many different reasons so leaving my computer on allows me to access my computer 24/7. and besides, i'm paying the electric bill, so who really gives a crap?? i think the apple store is the real waste of energy.
@pinkmillk I'm not talking about the bill, but about… well, the energy. But whatever, it's your choice. I'm just saying that I don't think it's very good to use electricity when you don't actually need it because of environmental issues. But if you were otherwise constantly turning it on and off, maybe it's better… I don't know. I just guess that I'd at least turn it off in the night, if it were only for electrosmog avoiding reasons… but, y'know. Do whatever you like.
@Wasserbienchen so in my 5 minute reasearch on electrosmog (since i had no clue what you were talking about) shows turning my computer off would have absolutely no effect, but rather turning off my wireless router, cordless phones and cell phones. Electrosmog is a result from electronic radiation - increasing in the world as a result of cellphones and wireless networks gaining popularity. My desktop with no wireless adapter, i'm not worried.

@jackhallowatt 18 Thumbs up? What kind of madness is this? I hate how people judge the OS because theirs suck, it all depends on the hardware itself, there's no such thing as a perfect computer, or a OS for that matter.
My laptop with win xp ,sure it never restarted unless i pressed the button when it was getting so slow or had some malfunction or suddenly opening infinite warnings or blue screens, red screens, black screens, YELLOW SCREENS(seriously), virus warnings, spyware graphic crash, dll crash, windows explorer crash and stuff i mean it perfect right? Lol
Ps. I bet 50% of people saying they have mac and say it crashed hundreds of time dont even have a mac
@dragonball1234567 Just like how mac fanboys say they used windows once and say it crashed hundreds of times too, seriously people, try the OS before you begin to sprout your stupidity all over the internet.
@Dafroft have you ever used a mac before???on mac if anything goes wrong there is a function called force quit that actually is much better than ctrl alt del...at least force quit never stalls like the other does...
@joran95 This ad was slightly before Vista debuted. Windows has improved greatly in the isolation of programs from the kernel in the NT derived versions of the OS (NT, XP, Vista, 7)
@stephos21 so when u press ctrl+alt+delete u can end the task. that is the same as force quit. it is because it usually stops responding when a million programs are open. so its harder for windows to delete the program from the memory
I've had PC for over 10 years. My father's had Macs for that time too. He has NEVER HAD to reboot or crash or whatever probles I had by dozens with my PC. And I take good care of viruses and all. He doens't even have to worry about that. Mac takes care by itself. If I don't switch is because in argentina macs are very expensive and I know that learning to use it takes time and can't afford the time right now. But I'd do it. I know I'd win PEACE and safety and my heart wouldn't stop so often
@crodariful thats becos windows owns 90% ofthe market share so its more of a hacker os. and also they make windows easy to use cos its not command based or anything like that. thats why there are a million virusses and stuff on YOUR pc,
@Wujsonniada well i can use grammar, and its so fucking hard to go to a website and put on a firewall, then you can have a more powerful, cheaper, run more programs computer than all the macs in the world
@Wujsonniada thats coz no one bothers to make viruses for a MAC..why would they? MACs only own 4% of the market..crap way to get ur name out as a virus maker
@jeystonemusic Macs are becoming more common, and it's still very difficult to write viruses for them. It's easier to do it with Windows because of the way the Windows kernel works.
I had to laugh about the PC crashing and the mac goes to get IT support. I've been using Macs in my classroom for 5 years, and they are still not working properly, the IT support needs weeks to write and edit new images and even then they crash all the time. We are replacing the whole lot with PCs.
I use one of those 20+ thousand dollar macs at work and I have had to restart it on several occasions. This whole "macs never crash" is a complete myth...
@miggy0711 really? mine actually never has crashed, internet pages have, but the mac itself hasn't...maybe it's because it's the new one that came out like a month ago
@miggy0711 yes, same as viruses. Its not that mac is impervious to viruses, its just no one bothers making a virus and risking prison for 1% of all computer users.
@miggy0711 yeah but apple fanboys are so damn arrogant and stuck up they like to insist that macs have no problems even with their unix core it crashes just as much as a pc does going through the same things and even linux would crash given the right circumstances every os has flaws and if osx didnt then why is their snow leapord?
@aryaxt Actually, a 20,000 Mac may not be far off, ever maxed out a... i forget what its called, but the mac tower... the big aluminium thing that can have 2, quad core processors etc etc, (anyone care to name it for me) I think that can be almost 20k...
Actually, I also run a lot of that Windows software in VMWare on my MacBook, and I never have to reboot Windows when it's running on my mac. I run Windows on it so I can run all those Windows programs on my mac... and it never freezes or crashes. The mac hardware is inherently more stable
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE macs have the same hardware as normal pcs... you mac is using for example intel or something just like normal pcs.. its just the configuration that makes the diffrence
I have a normal pc with windows 7 and it never freezes or reboots without my permission. Unless you got driver problems or a virus you don't get a bsod.
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE This isn't strictly true. Windows does support more applications, but many of those applications aren't worth running in the first place. Mac OS X is based on Unix, which is more stable than Windows.
ever heard of linux.maybe free bsd a part of opensource made for the pc what mac is based on.MAC is really nunthing if really there is no pc unix like .
Kinda backwards. When you wanna restart a mac, Thats easy. you're surfing the internet and boom! it shuts down. But. If you wanna restart it yourself. Thats different story. You hit the restart button and then you get this little circle you keep clicking the restart button. nothing happens. It doesn't tell you it freezes. It just nothing moves. then it unfreezes you lose internet and the menu doesn't come up.. Then you have to unplug the power cord from the wall. and if you have a laptop.Oh god.
Amazing... you took that from that stupid video that had everything wrong. That guy made things up (the key combo doesn't exist, for example). If you want to restart a Mac, you go to the Apple menu and hit Restart. The Mac restarts.
If you want to restart a PC, you have to go through the Start Menu and that submenu and hit restart. Then, you have to wait for that windows that tells you that you can end the program now or wait. You wait. Nothing happens. You shoot the computer and buy a Mac.
Wow you must be retarded. When you press restart, Windows confirms if you want to restart if there is some programs running. Then you press OK and Windows restarts.
When you press restart, Windows asks if you want to 'End Now' or wait for if to save whatever you're working on. If the program is frozen, you have to to to the Task Manager and click End Program. You do that, and you got the 'End Now' window. You close that and go back to the Task Manager... and do the same thing over and over.
dude if something is frozen why would you restart you whole computer when you can just you CTRL, ALT, and DELETE and end that one program; if your whole computer freezes trying to restart wouldn't even work. lol
The problem is, the Task Manager freezes all the time.
If your computer freezes (assuming it's running Windows), you would be forced to: wait for an hour or two, pull out the plug, or (the best option) buy a Mac.
@duckwithnukes no it does not. on mac and linux an app freezes even when only one app is open. on windows its only when there are so many programs on the memory. so it cant handle to much. and windows task manager never chrashed on me once.
My brother bought a Mac last year. Since then, it have never been so bad!!! Mac doesn't even know how to use it's own systems tool -> it crash instead.
It lag like hell...giving headaches. Good for editing? Dam no! Ok, you can put stupid song on your Ipod, use Word, watch movies...so what? This is not edition guys! This is consummation!
And for real editing : adobe after effect suck on mac compare to a basic PC, we dont even talk of photoshop, which lag on mac!?! Dhu!!, not on pc...
go and f**** *p mac and linux is for people who know use a real computer and the possibilities on linux and mac are much more than what a pc user can realize and why?? because he thinks he knows everything only by running your b*tchy windows
i could run a windows os from the age of 4 how could u explain that...
Speak for yourself, there's nothing wrong with my grammar, if you can't understand what I'm saying, well, it's not a bad thing, you just may not know much about PC, Mac, OS's, etc etc.
I think everyone else here is coherent and understands what I've said, some just disagree, there's a difference. So no, I needn't return to school, you should remark on comments you actually understand.
And I'm actually trying to be easy on you, but if you think this way, well it's your problem not mine.
Yeah that's what I think happened, nevermind my message I should have realized, it made no sense. Normally I have a good look at all other posts, even when I'm only addressing one post when I reply, to kind of go with the flow. My bad no pun intended.
Do you even know what open source is? You make no sense at all, because, "anyone", who would defend linux or unix would defend PC, because both are coded for PC, both are run on PC, and some companies even sell rigs pre set for the OS's.
So... PC is bad, meaning...lol I can't get ahold of this incredible comment. You say PC is bad, which means PC, as in, all hardware that is not Mac, is bad? All of this of which is needed and used to run Linux and/or Unix?
dude you're a noob that needs to go back to school, then you need to try to play games like modern warfare and crisis warhead on both a mac and window; see which is cheaper and see which runs better.
Why is it that any time there's a "GO MAC" comment, it's down rated, but when it's "GO PC!!1!111! MAC SUXZZ!11!" it gets 20 thumbs up? THAT'S fanboyism.
MACS spelled backwards spells scam. Way over priced

@jackhallowatt 18 Thumbs up? What kind of madness is this? I hate how people judge the OS because theirs suck, it all depends on the hardware itself, there's no such thing as a perfect computer, or a OS for that matter.

@CaptainMTDew i still get mad at my computer, but that day was a particularly bad one.

Lol
Ps. I bet 50% of people saying they have mac and say it crashed hundreds of time dont even have a mac
dragonball1234567 1 year ago 2
@dragonball1234567 Just like how mac fanboys say they used windows once and say it crashed hundreds of times too, seriously people, try the OS before you begin to sprout your stupidity all over the internet.

wtf yea you dont have to restart a mac all u have to do is wait 45 minutes for that rainbow sprial thing to go away at least a PC has ctrl alt delete
Dafroft 1 year ago
@Dafroft have you ever used a mac before???on mac if anything goes wrong there is a function called force quit that actually is much better than ctrl alt del...at least force quit never stalls like the other does...
stephos21 1 year ago
@stephos21 i have tried that before and still that little rainbow thing was there so i flipped the switch in the back

@faith121897 Click the close button on any program in Windows and get asked if you want to force quit. No need for restarts.
joran95 10 months ago 19
@joran95 This ad was slightly before Vista debuted. Windows has improved greatly in the isolation of programs from the kernel in the NT derived versions of the OS (NT, XP, Vista, 7)
jfcash84 5 months ago

I know I'd win PEACE and safety and my heart wouldn't stop so often
crodariful 1 year ago
@crodariful thats becos windows owns 90% ofthe market share so its more of a hacker os. and also they make windows easy to use cos its not command based or anything like that. thats why there are a million virusses and stuff on YOUR pc,

@nilloc93 mac is for people who DON'T WANT TO HAVE to firewall :) Anyway mac firewalls himself, and i don't have to do anything. Who's idiot now ?
Wujsonniada 1 year ago
@Wujsonniada well i can use grammar, and its so fucking hard to go to a website and put on a firewall, then you can have a more powerful, cheaper, run more programs computer than all the macs in the world
nilloc93 1 year ago
@nilloc93 Finally you will get a virus :D Mac user won't :)
Wujsonniada 1 year ago
@Wujsonniada thats coz no one bothers to make viruses for a MAC..why would they? MACs only own 4% of the market..crap way to get ur name out as a virus maker
jeystonemusic 1 year ago
@jeystonemusic Macs are becoming more common, and it's still very difficult to write viruses for them. It's easier to do it with Windows because of the way the Windows kernel works.
Elephanzee 1 year ago
@Elephanzee so while you have your MAC with no viruses i will have my PC with no viruses that does 4* as much as your MAC

I had to laugh about the PC crashing and the mac goes to get IT support. I've been using Macs in my classroom for 5 years, and they are still not working properly, the IT support needs weeks to write and edit new images and even then they crash all the time. We are replacing the whole lot with PCs.

miggy0711 2 years ago 60
@miggy0711 really? mine actually never has crashed, internet pages have, but the mac itself hasn't...maybe it's because it's the new one that came out like a month ago
FurtureSims 1 year ago
@miggy0711 yes, same as viruses. Its not that mac is impervious to viruses, its just no one bothers making a virus and risking prison for 1% of all computer users.

@miggy0711 yeah but apple fanboys are so damn arrogant and stuck up they like to insist that macs have no problems even with their unix core it crashes just as much as a pc does going through the same things and even linux would crash given the right circumstances every os has flaws and if osx didnt then why is their snow leapord?

ibainesy 1 year ago
It's about badly writen software you run on your pc obvious windows users have more problems because mac doesn't support any software.
IKHAATJUMPSTYLE 2 years ago 55
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE
Actually, I also run a lot of that Windows software in VMWare on my MacBook, and I never have to reboot Windows when it's running on my mac. I run Windows on it so I can run all those Windows programs on my mac... and it never freezes or crashes. The mac hardware is inherently more stable
mursaydees 2 years ago
Having to reboot has nothing to do with hardware as far as I know. And almost any mac or pc has stable hardware.
IKHAATJUMPSTYLE 2 years ago
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE macs have the same hardware as normal pcs... you mac is using for example intel or something just like normal pcs.. its just the configuration that makes the diffrence
Disorder92 1 year ago
I have a normal pc with windows 7 and it never freezes or reboots without my permission. Unless you got driver problems or a virus you don't get a bsod.
IKHAATJUMPSTYLE 1 year ago
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE badly? perhaps poorly? lol :)
Impyman18 1 year ago
@IKHAATJUMPSTYLE This isn't strictly true. Windows does support more applications, but many of those applications aren't worth running in the first place. Mac OS X is based on Unix, which is more stable than Windows.
Elephanzee 1 year ago
ever heard of linux.maybe free bsd a part of opensource made for the pc what mac is based on.MAC is really nunthing if really there is no pc unix like .

iamjoseph951 2 years ago
mariofan although i agree with you, you took that from another video and now you just look like a dumbass...
fireflambe 2 years ago
Kinda backwards. When you wanna restart a mac, Thats easy. you're surfing the internet and boom! it shuts down. But. If you wanna restart it yourself. Thats different story. You hit the restart button and then you get this little circle you keep clicking the restart button. nothing happens. It doesn't tell you it freezes. It just nothing moves. then it unfreezes you lose internet and the menu doesn't come up.. Then you have to unplug the power cord from the wall. and if you have a laptop.Oh god.
mariofan9012 2 years ago
Amazing... you took that from that stupid video that had everything wrong.
You shoot the computer and buy a Mac.
duckwithnukes 2 years ago
Wow you must be retarded. When you press restart, Windows confirms if you want to restart if there is some programs running. Then you press OK and Windows restarts.
ArmAholic 2 years ago 3
When you press restart, Windows asks if you want to 'End Now' or wait for if to save whatever you're working on. If the program is frozen, you have to to to the Task Manager and click End Program. You do that, and you got the 'End Now' window. You close that and go back to the Task Manager... and do the same thing over and over.
duckwithnukes 2 years ago
dude if something is frozen why would you restart you whole computer when you can just you CTRL, ALT, and DELETE and end that one program; if your whole computer freezes trying to restart wouldn't even work. lol
iamjoseph951 2 years ago
The problem is, the Task Manager freezes all the time.
If your computer freezes (assuming it's running Windows), you would be forced to: wait for an hour or two, pull out the plug, or (the best option) buy a Mac.
duckwithnukes 2 years ago
lol not really i've used windows for like 10 years o.o and it's never froze for me it has lagged a bit but thats all

@iamjoseph951 YEAH
..........and then your alarm clock went off.
nikesb2406 1 year ago

Go back to school and learn your grammar. You are the only one who can understand what you really mean.
ToddWalther 2 years ago
Speak for yourself, there's nothing wrong with my grammar, if you can't understand what I'm saying, well, it's not a bad thing, you just may not know much about PC, Mac, OS's, etc etc.
I think everyone else here is coherent and understands what I've said, some just disagree, there's a difference. So no, I needn't return to school, you should remark on comments you actually understand.
And I'm actually trying to be easy on you, but if you think this way, well it's your problem not mine.
HypnoticSuggestion 2 years ago
Did I comment something on you? I taugh I commented on "steliostymvios".
ToddWalther 2 years ago
Yeah that's what I think happened, nevermind my message I should have realized, it made no sense. Normally I have a good look at all other posts, even when I'm only addressing one post when I reply, to kind of go with the flow. My bad no pun intended.
HypnoticSuggestion 2 years ago
Do you even know what open source is? You make no sense at all, because, "anyone", who would defend linux or unix would defend PC, because both are coded for PC, both are run on PC, and some companies even sell rigs pre set for the OS's.
So... PC is bad, meaning...lol I can't get ahold of this incredible comment. You say PC is bad, which means PC, as in, all hardware that is not Mac, is bad? All of this of which is needed and used to run Linux and/or Unix?
You can't hate PC and love Linux, wow
HypnoticSuggestion 2 years ago
dude you're a noob that needs to go back to school, then you need to try to play games like modern warfare and crisis warhead on both a mac and window; see which is cheaper and see which runs better.
