Why does this look like somewhere in Egypt or the Middle East? The individuals who made this cartoon are prejudice, ignorant assholes. Siam was in Asia and is modern day Thailand, a predominantly buddhist country.
LOOK, I thought so too but not a big deal as I'm sure a lot of the people back then in various picture house audiences thought the same! It's an upbeat goofy cartoon in which EVERYTHING about it's fictional kind is not to be taken so darn seriously. JUst enjoy the hot jazz numbers and the character antics, for crying out loud! Santa Cluas can't ride a slegh up in the sky and easily slide down any chimney but you probably don't kick about something more improable like that!
@SwarthySkinnedOne FYI I know it's a "great" cartoon BUT What I'm refering to that the Characters were dressed in Arabic costume and Siam (now Thailand) is located is Southeast Asia not in the Middle East! So the animators were "Geographically Incorrect" while making this cartoon but a decade later when the Woody Woodpecker Cartoon "Alley to Bali" that everything was correct including the Balinese God idol and the Balinese maiden in the cartoon.
Seen that one 5x. Still, who cares?! That's not mandate to appreciate the gags of this funny salty cartoon in some foreign place that everyone knows is not a part of animated American soil. At least they had that right. Of course nowdays it's so easy for us( who think we're so superior 2 the folks back then) 2 get caught up n the plastic contemporary digital age of internet, warcraft, & GPS to make suck petty pointing of something that dosent' mean a doggone thing! So irksome!
@SwarthySkinnedOne Geez.....Liked if folks back then knew the difference of a Siamese and a Arabian is like what we know the difference between a real ligit iPod and a cheap Chinese knockoff of a iPod is. And nowadays with Politically Correct ideals running amok and censoring all these classic cartoon to thier death no wonder this world's all EFFED up!
*looong sigh* All on account of Politically coo coo complicated correct confusion chaotic crazy clap-trap getting completely critical, humph! Yeah I hear ya, drearily so.
@SwarthySkinnedOne I Enjoy Jazz but this is a cartoon gem that sadly will be never be seen on television due to Politically and Geographically Corrective individals who banned this interesting cartoon from television.
@bigg34691 ya people those days, they are not particularly trying to be correct geographically or culturally, they can be perceived racist, especially by the more internationally aware 21st century ppl.
to think about it, people during the 40s are so ignorant
Oh I've thought about it a lot which I've naturally concluded that you're dead wrong. They read more books and enjoyed a higher quality of devoted friendship and social life back then instad off fooling around with YT and watching SouthPark on their iPhones:-?
I should have? But what the hell is it to you? You know All I can say to your highly subjective self is what does what I and anybody elses way of appreciating something that you couldn't care less about to the degree of being your derogatory best in dumping on it have to do the price of Ipods and micro sdhc cards in your local Best Buy, Wizkid? Do yourself a rare favor & come off of it man, while I light up another cigarette and take puff break (Silly bastard)
You boneheaded bastard, don't try to pull me down to your simple-minded level. It's not mature, you know. The question is, are you? You bogus cardboard cutout. Ever thought about renting a school teacher and a phychiatrists to get you mentaly cought up? And please for Goddamn sake. will you lay off all these weak comebacks? Even if you do have a mind, like a steel trap, full of mice.
"B.....O...." was the famous "foghorn" sound used in Lever Brothers' Lifebuoy Soap radio ads at that time. They always claimed you could stop "B.O." [Body Odor] safer and cleaner by using their deodorant soap....

That's strange Siam (Thailand) looks more like Arabia!
For the record Siam(Thailand) is located in South East Asia While Arabia or Saudi Arabia is located in South West Asia!
