Love the movie ,have a copy of it myself..but I always beg the question... weren't helicopters, like all aircraft designed to fly 'above' & not AT ground level ?? just a thought.
@ka4172 Same here. The movie is a real classic and was shown not often in German TV. First presentation was in the mid-80s on the call in-show "ZDF-Wunschfilm". Later it was shown again on RTLII. The German title was "Treibjagdt in den Wolken".
I met him when he was doing a Coca-Cola commercial in Vegas. He also used to fly with a guy named Clay wright who owned a company called Hollywood Air force
I see that alot of you guys are lookig for copys of Deadly Encounter. I AM LARRY KIRSCH'S son and have no problem getting copys to anyone who wants one. You have to pay for shipping and handeling. I ANY BODY HAS QUESTIONS REGARDING LARRY, I wouldn't mind discussing my Pop with you guys. It's about time I found people who appreciate my Dad's work.
Godamnit I've been waiting for this bloody film to come out on DVD for what feels like my whole fricking life. I used to have a VHS copy taped from the TV but it's gone missing. What kind of world do we live in where I can go pretty much anywhere and buy a copy of Stallone's 'Driven' but not get this anywhere?
Maybe they should've thrown the briefcase out. Give the bad guys a glimmer of hope of recovering the money. Then lose them while they actually stopped to land and find it.
Thanks for posting! Now I can show all my online friends what REAL helicopter flying is!
BTW, my DVD has Larry Hagman saying "Where the hell are those bums?" instead of 'bastards', and he just says "Hey!" instead of "Oh, shit" when they're shooting at him. Where'd you source this from?
@cljohnston108 - Sorry for the delay in answering. This version was screened in BRITAIN. It was listed as a TV MOVIE - which surprised me - as at one point, Susan Anspach gives us a quick flash of her BOOBS (which didn't HAPPEN, in Seventies US TV movies!)
Therefore, we must assume that British TV got given a copy of the film that had been INTENDED for THEATRICAL release - which perhaps, never happened. And further, if your DVD copy has been bowdlerised, maybe that copy is NO MORE.
I once had a VHS copy of "Airwolf: The Movie" that had apparently been edited for theatrical release overseas. Jan Michael Vincent drops a major F-bomb in that one!
yea but does he stop at stop signs?

This is a classic Chopper flick!
Directed by the same guy that did Birds Of Prey in 72. They made a mistake the way Birds Of Prey ended.
If it ended differently this would have been the perfect sequel for sure!
