  • I already Installed the injen intake on my car the sound is great but i don't feel like there's a difference actually i feel like its running slower than b4 any ideas why?? i dont have the M&S fog package and the heat is a bit higher than before, btw im in saudi arabia and its fuckin hot in here can anyone help me with this

  • @xiad1234 Hey you still notice that you have lost power? When I first put in my CAI I noticed a big difference. I felt the extra torque immediately off the lot.

  • @Wangsta100 no its running much better now, it was because of the plastics next to the fog light blocking the air, after i changed it its running much faster

  • @xiad1234 What plastic is that next to the fog light? Would this be true for all GC'S?

  • @Wangsta100 yeah man it is true for all gc's, i dont know what you call it in english but its the black plastic thing attached to the fog lights, if u cut it u will get better results as the air will be passing directly to the air filter, just like they did in this video they just changed it instead of cutting it

  • i bet u could do some duct work on the left side to feed even more air to the CAI, maybe even block it from the rear.

  • of course it's gonna sound badass.. it's a cold air intake..

    But i'd opt for the AEM cold air intake. They're intakes and sounds are better..

    Also... one worry about an cold air-take is that ti's close to the ground...

    Hence.. any deep rain or puddles of deep water can actually stop your car until the water is flushed out.... But I used to run one on my prelude back in the late 90s. It's one bad ass puppy and the sound is just bliss... no other auto part can give it that sexy roar..

  • @jsong21 Actually they did a study on the "submerged air filter" and unless your car is going to be sitting in that puddle of water for 3-4 seconds (doubtful you'd be driving in that kind of weather anyway) you wont suck up enough water to destroy the engine. It takes quite a bit of water to hydro-lock the engine.

    Thank god for Southern California weather... but those CARB laws are killer.

  • @ccbikeryder Not so my friend! Injen submits all their intakes to the California Air Resource Board for CARB exemption. When you buy the intake and don't receive a CARB sticker contact Injen by email and send them the serial number of the intake and a picture of it as well and they will send you one for free, no charge. I just got mine today in the mail, so now I'm legal.

  • @USSRman45 You sure about that? Just because they submit it, does not mean it will attain approval. Once an intake is approved it will receive an exemption# specific to your type of vehicle. If your car has not met approval, there is no sticker to send, because there is no CARB exemption#. If what you say is true, please post your #, and we can look it up on ARB website. If the OE# is approved, the sticker is not needed because any one who runs a SMOG CENTER can just look up your OE#.

  • @xxTIGER43xx Yes the intake will get wet but who cares, if your really worried get a hydroshield. You only have to worry about the filter getting wet if your driving through a 2 foot high puddle. This would/might cause hydrolock.

  • @xxTIGER43xx There are 2 main companys for GC cold air intakes. AEM and Injen. They both about same Horsepower gains. I think the injen is 1 hp better. The AEm is easier to install. The Injen need you to remove the front bumper and AEM does not. On both you have to replace the washer fluid jug, the AEM's design for this is reportedly better. Both are great kits though.

  • wow... I know the older Tiburon 2.7L V6 was able to gain 15whp just from an AEM CAI.

    Wow... that's a lot of RWHP just from an intake.

  • @10fintec o, then wow the stock CAI in the genesis must be really restrictive, but that really a good gain

  • huh? CAI must be restrictive? you mean the stock airbox... possibly but some engines respond better than others and there are more than just a couple of reasons for being able to gain huge power just from an intake.

    for example)on a K20 Honda engine, you can gain around 15whp just from an intake as well.

  • @andrestnt When I swapped from a stock box to a CAI on my old Saturn Ion 2.4L, I gained 19whp. I tuned for it of course, but it really opened it up in the lower rpm band.
