  • May be those are lies?

  • howard looks like lev's dad

  • There's a girl in my class named Alexia...

  • I tried to draw letters on the roof of my mouth with my tongue, but it tickles like a son-of-a-bitch!

  • this is fucking fascinating. no really. no jokes here. fucking fascinating!

  • COOL STORY BRO!!!

    IT INSPIRES ME!

  • serbo-croatian, majku mu jebem neobrazovanu neandertalcu jebenom!!!!!!!

  • @Aggressive46 Hey, come on, that's a little harsh don't you think? It's just an analogy to say it was like it was in an alphabet that he was unfamiliar with but which was still slightly similar to the latin alphabet and not, say, Chinese. No need to take it personally, he wasn't insulting your language.

  • Srpsko-Hrvatski :D lol :D

  • Lev, why does Howard Engel look like your dad's drawing??

  • good to know

  • I knew a guy that had a stroke, and he couldn't look at a keyboard and type. But if he closed his eyes he was able to type.

  • that is so clever. thats how i was wen i started to read and write. i cudnt read as in i didnt know how to identify exact written words but i was able to write what i knew to be letters despite not being able to name them and creating an actual word. this changed later on when i got assistence from teachers, master coaching, and speech therapy.

  • What about typing?

I love Lev's (Yilmaz ... on YouTube, he's AgentXPQ) work.

"Cool story, bro" ... actually, it was quite interesting. :)

  • haha howard ingle kinda looks like lev's dad in his previous sketches.

  • amazing! learned someing new today :D

What was that song at the end???

  • I like it when something I like is together with something else I like.

    "X-box pancake"!

  • OMG..... I use abreviations beacuse of how baffled I am about this... Great animation from Lev like always since Tales of Mere Existence.... and an amazing discovery and technique used by Howard Engle..... just amazzing...

  • Fascinating

  • Lev really rocks^^

  • I have a question...we are talking of writing with pen...or pencil...but in the case of computers....can he write on the computer???

  • @erikaramireza

nice question, but I wouldn't think so because the letters on the keyboard would probably look to him gibberish too...

  • @erikaramireza I guess if he memorize the position of the keys he will be able, or maybe if he write in Braile with his eyes closed. At least it makes sense from what the movie shows, but may be more to it.

  • the guy at 0:22 looks like sam x samuel *supernatural* Rofl.

  • LOL, so u mean i can understand what u saying but i cannot speak the language o.O'' Thats scary!

  • From the progressive socialists at NPR who fired Juan Williams.

  • kind of scary that it just happened overnight

  • Juan 3:16 says, "You can suck it!" NPR is a douchebag organization. Good riddance to yous.

  • "... but it didn't have far to go."

    XD

  • i forgot how to read for a couple hours when i got a concussion once it was really wierd cause i could see just fine and i knew the shapes but it just didn't make sense.

  • i forgot how to read for a couple hours when i got a concussion once

  • Aww that really sucks:(

  • Thumbs up if funny junk brought you here! :D

  • Wow. My life would be hell if I couldn't read.

  • This happens to me when I get really bad migraines. Thankfully it has only happen 3 ti\mes in the last 10 years. It's called "Aura" I think... pisses me off... but does pass.

  • unlucky gye

  • but...but...wtf??

  • Scary, but interesting. Hope you are doing well, Mr Engel!

  • How could he recover from a stroke so easily? o_O

  • @BrokenBassBin

Luck? The stroke didn't effect any vital areas of the brain? Like motor skills and the autonomic system? That may be why.

  • How can he trace the letter with his finger, when he's not able to identify the letter? If I trace a "G" with my finger, it stays a "G", even if it's in fact an "A" and only my eys see a "G".

  • @DasYves His eyes are fine, and he can follow the lines of the letters with his finger, but he can only recognize letters by touch, not by sight. It's a subtle thing, but there's a difference between seeing shapes and cognitively constructing them into meaningful objects . There's a similar condition called "agnosia," where a person still sees two eyes, a nose and a mouth, but cannot recognize the face -- not even their own image in a mirror.

  • @DasYves

He sees the G, his vision ain't distorted in any way so that letters appear different. He just can't read, he don't know what the sign G means. But using his writing skills, which aren't effected by the stroke, he can copy the letters by writing them (in the air for instance) and recognize them by the movements he has to make. His brain ain't as plastic as when he was a child, and on top of that the brain is damaged. He might not be able to ever learn reading again.

  • @fuunguus i swear it's tht he cnt decipher the G? he says S' look like Rs and Bs look like Ps... if he can see th G and not understand it, tht means writing it in th air wouldn't make a difference, he stil wouldn't understand it.

  • Gratz Lev =) Cool vid

  • Why did i find this video on the bestofyoutube !?!

  • Wow, that's amazing!

  • Grats Lev!

  • WOW. The second I saw the gif for this video I thought "I recognize that style of drawing anywhere" and I was right! AgentXPQ (Lev) and NPR working together! Awesome.

  • @B4TT3RY Haha my thoughts exactly!

  • Heh?

  • This reminds me of sperry's split brain experiment

  • Sounds like half my days. the other times I can read but can't comprehend. Not sure which is better. just one more interesting bit of life.
