beef mostly reduced fat..that's what some say killed the appeal beg to differ loved this product would buy it 2 packs at a time ..and also liked steakumms..remember that cool product
When I saw these commercials as a kid, I always begged my mom to buy them when we went to the grocery store. I even said, "There's someting leaner!" and she would always say "NO" and buy regular bacon. But my grandma bought it so I loved her more. LOL
Growin' up, I remember the commercials but I cannot remember eating it. But u'no, in the present day comes something better - turkey bacon! Yummy! I ain't lying; turkey bacon is the best thing 4 me 2 eat at breakfast since dry Cheerios from the box!
I found the Sizzlelean commercial. My staff did not know what Sizzlelean was. I said to them "Move over bacon. It's Sizzlelean" And they looked at me puzzled as usual. Here it is. A bit of your child hood. You will laugh your *(_* off.
Too bad they don't make Sizzlean anymore, I used to eat it back in the 80's. I remember before it disappeared off the face of the earth, it was renamed Sizzling, because it was learned that it wasn't was lean as the ads claimed.
LOL. One friend of mine ordered a bacon burger, while our Muslim friend went with a chicken sandwich. The first friend said, Man, this burger is good, I respect your beliefs but man, I couldn't live without bacon, how do you do it. We all laughed. Then the first friend blurted out.......BEEF SIZZLEAN!!!!
I remember this commercial! It always irritated me how these people were more amazed by the low-fat bacon rather than the fact they're using friggin' TELEKINESIS.
the ealy 90's experienced an economic crisis, but not on the level of tdays economic crisis. The 90's crisis decimated alot of small companies like sizzlelean.
Sizzlean was made by Swift Foods, which is still around. What really happened was bacon got sick of moving over and shoved Sizzlean right out of your local multinational supermarket conglomerate and into the Failed Product Museum. Bacon made from beef? really?
Oh this brings back memories of childhood, when I'd eat a whole pack of this stuff. I wish they still made it, but from what I read, it ceased production in the early 1990's.
I said 'move over bacon' to someone the other day but I coudnt remember where that phrase came from (it came from 20 yrs ago in the recesses of my memory, I guess)! thanks guy!
That commercial was definitely a legend. Now, my question is how was Sizzlean made? Could it be from the leanest cuts of other cured pork meats, or was it synthetically processed?
I remember the "move over bacon" bit with the flute sound and spatula from back in the day. BUT - I had forgotten how much the actress in the blue shirt overacts - I mean, what's with the hand held up "WHOA SIS!!"??. Then after she complains, check out her head swivel as she thinks hard about bacon vs. Sizzlean. Classic!
