Wow, have never heard this song! Agree that Louis' fingerstyle bass playing is is very underrated--he also did some great work on the "Off the Wall" album, i.e. Rock with You that was played fingerstyle. Thanks for posting!

'Off the Wall' is a great album. But it's not Louis playing on 'Rock with You'. The player on that song was Bobby Watson. Nonetheless is a fabulous song.

I actually have the old VHS tape Louis did in the 80's, and I love the way he broke down his bassline on "Stomp!", which is legendary!

My 2nd fave song off the Blam!! album. You really NAILED that part for every conceivable detail ! But just one thing about the tone, it seems a lil bit too "modern" to me with this bass. Doesn't have that pre-EB grit ! But well it's subtle. :) Love the vocals too...."Get up offa dat stuff babe dontcha wanna..."

Thanx bro and you're right about the tone. It's different than a pre-EB. The reason I used it is because the string spacing is different on this bass which makes this song flow a bit more when I play it. I was just lazy I guess :-)
