  • hi buddy great guitar playin.can you tell me what that little 3 notes you play at 0.46 just before the chorus can i hell as like work it out.

    many thanks David,liverpool,uk

  • Great.

  • Thanks!

  • my fav rickenbacker is the 325 one

  • Gotta love that Fireglo.

I've got a Mapleglo 360/12, but my next one will definitely be a Fireglo.

  • My Fireglow 360-12 is my favorite Rickenbacker.

  • hello bclontz, why are you doing all the beatles guitar parts, you seem to have the same love for the band and the instrument that I and others who were there, your feel for the parts are very solid, are you self taught,or did you take lessons,on this songs on the be long verse that right chord is the A at the 5th fret, then the A9th at the 4th fret, the lasat chord is a e maj7th,is this played in the 4th or 1st position, how about trying to do I,LL cry instead, have you done this one yet, thanks, dan

  • Thanks Dan! I love the music of the Beatles, etc. because It was what I grew up listening to (from the late 1960's on) on. I am self taught....and I play them like I hear them because I play by ear.

  • Nice guitar work! How many Ric's do you own Buddy? Love that Montezuma brown colour too.

I owned two other Ric's way back in the 70's (sold them both like an idiot) BUT my new Ric 330 JG is due in this week so I won't be quite as envious when I watch your vids. :)

  • Thanks! Four Rics....

  • You're truly gifted Buddy, i have watched all your Beatles covers over and over again, they're really fantastic, But if you have time over sometime i would really appreciate to see a cover of Byrds - It won't be wrong, thx and keep up the good work!

  • Thank you!

  • Nice...see you are into CLASSIC stuff...Great job Buddy..Im IMPRESSED<<<

  • Bang on!!

I just love that Jangly sound of a 12 string Rick.

I am a big Beatles fan, but I think the first few albums had a great quality about them, who else was making wonderful songs like this at that time.

    Well done!

  • I'm sure if Paul McCartney gets Ringo back together for a reunion then you will get the call to play George Harrison's part Buddy. Great riff

  • Thanks! I'm sure that would never happen(me getting the call)...but it's a nice thought anyway. I'd love to be able to sit down with those guys and play a few hours and just have a talk. The Beatles were and still are amazing. -BC

  • Just one more question.

How much would a Rick 360 ( six string ) cost?

    PS. I love your videos

  • Thanks! I'd say around $1800-$2000 USD for a 360-6. -BC

  • Amazing cover Buddy H-

One question, is playing a twelve string similar to a six string?

  • Yes...but it is a little harder to play a 12-string. They are generally thought of as a rhythm instrument as opposed to a lead guitar. -BC

  • sick rickenbacker =D

  • great as always! what color is that guitar? is it some kind of fireglo?

  • Thanks! Yes, it's a fireglow model that has aged a little...like me...LOL -BC

  • Buddy you just literally made my day with this ; )

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. -BC

  • What are the chords on the "bridge", i.e. the part that begins, "since you left me..."?

  • HEY REGALAME UNA DE TUS RICKENBACKER

  • wonderful voice!!!

  • wonderful voice!!!

  • Jeez you have a good ear...you got every little frill on every little fill perfect...I never even paid attention or noticed those guitar parts before, I only focused on the melody and harmony/the vocals lyrics parts, and chord changes I feel a little bit more knowledgeable now,,good playing! thank you!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • BC- have you thought about doing some close up's of chord progressions and riffs? I've been away from the guitar for more years than I care to admit...ok..25yrs(ouch!) . Now my 11 year old son is starting to play and we are having a lot of fun playing together. Like you I have been listening to the Beatles for 30 some years. A few shots of some lead riffs would be a huge help. Thanks again, my son and I luv watching your video's. - All the best

  • Thanks! I'll see what I can do... -BC

  • What is that chord you play after E, C#m, A.... I can't work it out for the life of me. And also, very nice :)

  • I don't know the name of it...but here is what I did...which sounded like the original recording to me. -BC E string -mute ,A string - mute, D string - 2, G string 3, B string 2, High E - open

  • I prefer the real thing over a copy because often a copy is a very inferior product to the original. I own four Rickenbackers and I am happy with all of them. -BC

  • how much would a rickenbacker 360/12 cost roughly?

  • A new one is around $2800 I think...but I haven't checked in a while. Not cheap...but you get what you pay for. They are very well made instruments with beautiful finishes. -BC

  • you can get an (indie ) copy , very close to origonal 12 ric for £400- 00 in the u k .

    checkout , indie guitars .

one guy plays one on the web too :)

  • I adore you Buddy, your my idol!

  • LOL... Thanks! -BC

  • loved that. i'm a big beatles fan and you nailed it..

  • Thanks! -BC

  • god job man thats awesome!!!!!!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Thanks! Yes...and I'm going to buy another one tonight...LOL -BC

  • great job, and super tone

  • Thanks! -BC

  • DavesFrontPorch

I haven't seen one of my comments accepted here, so now I'm venting. YouTube's Beatles of this song appearing on Ready Steady Go, at 39-43 seconds, see John's little finger stretch to begin playing the 5th string E note

as he begins to play a 2/5 string position E major chord ( E occurring on the 2nd and fifth string) which he'll follow with Buddy's D#flat 6 chord, D6 chord, C#7 chord, adding the perfect 5th G# note to it before going to the A chord. Vented. Bury me for 3rd time.

  • The very few comments out of thousands at this point that I haven't accepted have been the few stupid ones...and there haven't been but a very few of those. I accept comments even when I don't agree with them unless they are totally profane/offensive...or just dumb...however, this is my channel...and I can do whatever I want here can't I? Thanks for sharing! -BC

  • Wow, to hear it so pronounced like that makes me realize just what struck Jim McGuinn at the time! Really well dun. You sound like a fookin Beaddle.

  • Thank You! Check out some of the other videos when you have time. -BC

  • very good keep it up the good work

what chords do you use in 1:04-1:108??

  • 12 string sounds cool!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • those chord progressions are definately Lennon. If you watch the live videos you can see the C Shape that he used a lot. great playin Buddy, I`ve been tryin to figure out those cadences for 20 years!!

  • Thanks! I don't know what they are but I played what I heard and that is how it came out...LOL -BC

  • hey do u have a rickenbacker black edition?

and also do you have johns sun burst acoustic guitar? just wondering.

  • No and No Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Thanks for the kind words I had fun jamming on it

  • pretty cool, I just did a cover of this song on drums

  • Thanks! I checked it out and you did a good job! -BC

  • Well done!!!.....I enjoy your beatle covers. Best regards from Peru ( Southamerica )

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Very good... I believe this song was recorded with a 6 string Gretsch Duo Jet or his Chet Atkins Tenn.but I could be wrong.

  • I think it was also...but I wanted to do it on a Rickenbacker 360-12 just to get a different take on it. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Amazing sound

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Thank you for being on Youtube.

    You are amazing!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • nice ,good job.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • cool guitar playing!

  • Fantastic! You're an excellent guitar player!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Thanks for answering all my questions you are a delight to watch play and your responses are very much informative and very much appreciated.

    God Bless you,

    Jesse

  • Thank You! Glad I could help. -BC

  • Just one more question,I recently purchased A 360-12AFG,I replaced the Higains for the vintage toaster pickups,I read somewhere that the vintage pickups are sometimes wound differently,do you thing the reissue toaster pickups are wound to the same specs? Thanks

  • The reissue Vintage Toaster Pickups are wound to the specification of the original Toaster Pickups. Most of these pickups fall in the 7.4 kohm range more or less. The output is less than the High Gain Pickups but the tone is very much the vintage Rickenbacker chime that everyone is so familiar with. YOu have a great guitar in the 360-12 AFG with the Toasters...so play it often and enjoy the music! -BC

  • Thanks and best of luck, buy the way what strings do you use Ric strings?,

    Thanks

  • I use Rickenbacker Brand string sets on all of my Rickenbacker guitars. -BC

  • Would you agree a compressor is vital to get a good ric sound ?

  • The Rickenbacker 360-12 and my 370-12 both sound great with or without the compression added. It's a combination of elements like the semi-hollow body, the Vintage Toaster Pickups that are scatterwound, the all tube amp, and the compression. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Great playing and great sound, just curious what compressor are you using and is your guitar a vintage ric or a reissue. Thanks

  • I am using a preset that I tweeked on a Yamaha DG Stomp which is no longer made. I think most any compressor will do the job though. There is certainly nothing special about the one I am using. The guitar has more to do with this sound than any single element. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • We worship Beatlemania! Great sound, BC!

  • Great, great, wonderful sound you get on this 12 Rickenbacker, what a beautiful sounds, Thank you and perfect Harrison's style

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Sweet! I just ordered my Fender HotRod 410!

  • Thanks! Does this mean I get a commission?...LOL -BC

  • Haha. You will have to speak to Fender about that.. I did get a really good deal on it :)

It pays to check out prices online before going into your local music store. Heh

  • cool man.....

  • Thanks! -BC

  • God you are great.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Very good.

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • I love this guitar, check out the band Silverchair (rickenbacker is in songs World upon your shoulders and The Greatest view)

  • Thanks! -BC

  • The second video I see from you is as good as the first. I'm gonna watch them all. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Wow. This is so awesome. Great job!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Great Playing. THat's one Great sounding Guitar.

  • Thanks! Rickenbackers are special guitars for sure! -BC

  • You know i have a video too.If you want to see it press(i saw her standing there covers). You will find the video on the second or the third page.If you can't recognise me read the tag and my name is zanonick13.You know zanonick13 is my surmane and the first together and the number 13 is my best number because i'm PANATHIKAIKOS F.C.

  • Thank you.You are playing very good as i can see and hear, and the guitar is perfect.Thank you again for your information about the guitar cost.

  • man, nice guitar.I look for rickenbacker guitars here in Greece but I can't find. How much did you buy this baby(the guitar)?

  • Thanks! This Rickenbacker 360-12 with the vintage "Toaster Pickups" and was about $1500(US Dollars) in 2000 if I remember correctly. They are probably a bit more expensive now. -BC

  • Hey, Sounds awesome! I have a Rick 330/6 with Hi Gains, I love the jangle sound. Would this be improved by changing to toaster pickups?

    Cheers

  • Thanks! AS far as changing out the High Gain Pickups for Toasters, there will be a difference but it will be subtle. I am glad I put the Vintage Toasters in my 360-12. They do have that vintage Rickenbaker Jangle that the High Gains don't quite have. Go for it, you'll be glad you changed them. -BC

  • Thank you very much for your help. I own a Fender Hot Rod Deville AMP. With vintage pickups, do you think it will sound well?

  • Yes! I am playing my Rickenbacker 360-12 through a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10. The Hot Rod Deville is a valve(tube) amp as you know and that accounts for a lot of the warm tones. Keep looking...I'm going to put some more Rick 12-string videos on soon. -BC

  • It will sound like my Rickenbacker does on these videos...except better. You have to realize that the videos are converted to get them onto You Tube and this reduces the picture and audio quality...in other words, this setup sounds even better in person. -BC

  • that was really great BC! I have a technical question about pickups. How much difference there is between a Hi-gain pickup and a Vintage Toaster Pickup in sound? I want to buy a RIC but a 360/6 with hi-gain pickup, but I'm afraid that the sound will dissapoint me, and I live in Argentina so I can't test it from here.

  • I originally had the high gain pickups in my Rickenbacker 360-12. They sounded good but I would say they are like "Toasters" on steroids. The high gain pickups have a higher output and don't quite have the "jingle-jangle" classic sound of the older Ricks. Get a Rickenbacker with the "Vintage Toasters"(7.4 k scatterwound pickups) and you'll get the sound you are looking for. Rickenbacker quality is first rate! You'll love the guitar when you get it! - BC

  • Very well done! Makes me want to pull out my 325V63 and join you!

  • Join in!-BC

  • VERY GOOD CHORD WORK!!! Did you learn this by ear? Also, I assume you know that there is no rickenbacker 12-string on this song.

  • Thanks, yes I learned everything I play by ear. I know there was not a Rickenbacker 12-string on this one originally...however, I decided to do it this way just to add a different sound to the song. -BC

  • That's good because your giving the song your own character.
