Hi I like your videos you play the songs of the Beatles I'm from Argentina and I'm using the translator and I like the Rickenbacker that you got me I'd like to have it re a fan of the beatles and john lennon a greeting ... lucky
hello bclontz, why are you doing all the beatles guitar parts, you seem to have the same love for the band and the instrument that I and others who were there, your feel for the parts are very solid, are you self taught,or did you take lessons,on this songs on the be long verse that right chord is the A at the 5th fret, then the A9th at the 4th fret, the lasat chord is a e maj7th,is this played in the 4th or 1st position, how about trying to do I,LL cry instead, have you done this one yet, thanks, dan
Thanks Dan! I love the music of the Beatles, etc. because It was what I grew up listening to (from the late 1960's on) on. I am self taught....and I play them like I hear them because I play by ear.
Nice guitar work! How many Ric's do you own Buddy? Love that Montezuma brown colour too.
I owned two other Ric's way back in the 70's (sold them both like an idiot) BUT my new Ric 330 JG is due in this week so I won't be quite as envious when I watch your vids. :)
You're truly gifted Buddy, i have watched all your Beatles covers over and over again, they're really fantastic, But if you have time over sometime i would really appreciate to see a cover of Byrds - It won't be wrong, thx and keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm sure that would never happen(me getting the call)...but it's a nice thought anyway. I'd love to be able to sit down with those guys and play a few hours and just have a talk. The Beatles were and still are amazing. -BC
Jeez you have a good ear...you got every little frill on every little fill perfect...I never even paid attention or noticed those guitar parts before, I only focused on the melody and harmony/the vocals lyrics parts, and chord changes I feel a little bit more knowledgeable now,,good playing! thank you!
BC- have you thought about doing some close up's of chord progressions and riffs? I've been away from the guitar for more years than I care to admit...ok..25yrs(ouch!) . Now my 11 year old son is starting to play and we are having a lot of fun playing together. Like you I have been listening to the Beatles for 30 some years. A few shots of some lead riffs would be a huge help. Thanks again, my son and I luv watching your video's. - All the best
I don't know the name of it...but here is what I did...which sounded like the original recording to me. -BC E string -mute ,A string - mute, D string - 2, G string 3, B string 2, High E - open
I prefer the real thing over a copy because often a copy is a very inferior product to the original. I own four Rickenbackers and I am happy with all of them. -BC
A new one is around $2800 I think...but I haven't checked in a while. Not cheap...but you get what you pay for. They are very well made instruments with beautiful finishes. -BC
I haven't seen one of my comments accepted here, so now I'm venting. YouTube's Beatles of this song appearing on Ready Steady Go, at 39-43 seconds, see John's little finger stretch to begin playing the 5th string E note
as he begins to play a 2/5 string position E major chord ( E occurring on the 2nd and fifth string) which he'll follow with Buddy's D#flat 6 chord, D6 chord, C#7 chord, adding the perfect 5th G# note to it before going to the A chord. Vented. Bury me for 3rd time.
The very few comments out of thousands at this point that I haven't accepted have been the few stupid ones...and there haven't been but a very few of those. I accept comments even when I don't agree with them unless they are totally profane/offensive...or just dumb...however, this is my channel...and I can do whatever I want here can't I? Thanks for sharing! -BC
those chord progressions are definately Lennon. If you watch the live videos you can see the C Shape that he used a lot. great playin Buddy, I`ve been tryin to figure out those cadences for 20 years!!
Just one more question,I recently purchased A 360-12AFG,I replaced the Higains for the vintage toaster pickups,I read somewhere that the vintage pickups are sometimes wound differently,do you thing the reissue toaster pickups are wound to the same specs? Thanks
The reissue Vintage Toaster Pickups are wound to the specification of the original Toaster Pickups. Most of these pickups fall in the 7.4 kohm range more or less. The output is less than the High Gain Pickups but the tone is very much the vintage Rickenbacker chime that everyone is so familiar with. YOu have a great guitar in the 360-12 AFG with the Toasters...so play it often and enjoy the music! -BC
The Rickenbacker 360-12 and my 370-12 both sound great with or without the compression added. It's a combination of elements like the semi-hollow body, the Vintage Toaster Pickups that are scatterwound, the all tube amp, and the compression. Thanks for watching! -BC

Yes! I am playing my Rickenbacker 360-12 through a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10. The Hot Rod Deville is a valve(tube) amp as you know and that accounts for a lot of the warm tones. Keep looking...I'm going to put some more Rick 12-string videos on soon. -BC
It will sound like my Rickenbacker does on these videos...except better. You have to realize that the videos are converted to get them onto You Tube and this reduces the picture and audio quality...in other words, this setup sounds even better in person. -BC
that was really great BC! I have a technical question about pickups. How much difference there is between a Hi-gain pickup and a Vintage Toaster Pickup in sound? Amazing cover Buddy H-
One question, is playing a twelve string similar to a six string?
waglet74 2 years ago
Yes...but it is a little harder to play a 12-string. They are generally thought of as a rhythm instrument as opposed to a lead guitar. -BC
