Now that countries can sing in the language of their choice, just as an experiment, it would be interesting to present the acts without saying which country they were representing and see if the voting patterns differed from the past few years.
What!? He was 16.. Europe what was and is wrong with you!!? All the good songs people through away!!! And if this is boring, then what do you want? Only screaming and the songs with no melody at all!!! Listen, people. This is a MUSIC competition. We should organised competition on the radio, where people would really only LISTENING to the songs.. And then we would see who would be the real winner. It's just not fair....
@TaraEckersberg He can be charming and hilariously funny too. He's great company on a night out! He has gone on to play Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar on the UK National Tour and 'The Pianoman' in Movin' Out (the Billy Joel musical) in New York on Broadway, the US tour and in London in the West End. He was brilliant in those and is starting a UK tour as 'the American' in Chess next month.
Fair enough it wasn't the most exciting thing. It was a very good song though probably top 10 on the night. However political voting seemed to cost him.
I would favour it however if they made the stage much smaller therefore to stop people just dancing to victory. It should be about the song. Last time I looked it was Eurovision SONG contest NOT DANCE contest.
It's a nice song, a very pleasant singer...but there's no excitement or fun factor. Look at the huge show Ukraine put on that night - Ruslana with Wild Dances. Yeah sure it was a bit crazy but she rocked it!
I remember watching this on the night and when he started singing, you could tell his vocal performance was head and shoulders above everyone else on the night... I remember thinking that he was the first performer who was actually singing in tune...
Please, just face it: it doesn't matter if the song is good when the performance (the most important part) is crappy. He was so HOT and looked so confident in the music video... but in the final he lacked of stage-presence, looked ugly and why in hell is he wearing a baby blue costume?
And your bad positions has nothing to do with the war in Iraq, but I'm sure it's a comfortable excuse.
With a few exceptions (Nicole, or Vicky Leandros) the British or Irish songs usually are the best. Nobody does pop music quite like them (and no, I'm not British!). If Eurovision doesn't break into two camps - west/east Europeans (let the eastern bloc vote for themselves in their own competition) - then Eurovision should re-introduce the "must sing in your own language" criteria once again. Eurovision is a venue to increase singers' profiles - let's see how good the songs really are!
The problem with James Fox is that he was completely forgettable, even though, as sorayathebest says, he was note perfect. The song was also dull.
At the risk of ruining my street cred, I remember every Eurovision entry - of the UK and other countries - since about 1997. But I struggled to recall this one in a quiz recently.
That says it all.
The good news is that I think Andy Abraham is going to do very well for us this year! And if not, at least we can be proud of the amazing vocals.
This song is so sweet :)

Serbia Montenegro, Cyprus, France and Spain where probably the strongest countrys that year in tersm of vocals
ESCeXtRa105 2 weeks ago
should have done beter considering most countrys singers vocals where a shambley, painfully out of tune in some and some of entrys had bad english

all the eastern European countries kiss each-others ass so much, it's not about music clearly. it's about who your neighbours are.
