  • meanwhile a cat was tripping out..............

  • We once had a dog like this, but hey keep practicing.

  • NOW I WANT ONE.

  • You provided a real service for anyone thinking playing the Theremin is simple and easy. I try to correct people maski9ng such claims by explaining that playing the Theremin - like playing ANY instrument - requires precise finger & hand movement. Some people may learn faster than others, but it still requires hours of practice.

    I play upright acoustic bass.

  • The whale next door asked what you're doing with his wife.

  • Lol

  • I in love. not a pedophile.

  • attempt to remove the clock :)

  • Eerie.

  • sounds like sum1's holding a ballon and slowly letting it go hahahahahahaha

  • it seems kinda funny to learn n.n keep playing =) no one learn so fast to play any instrument

  • Is it me or does the Theremin at one point sound like a talking dog that's howling? xDD Like those talking dog videos! Lol!?

    "I want my mommaaa!"

    "Noooooooooo!"

  • that sound should be in the ghost movies frm 70s.

  • Were you trying to play "In The Hall of The Mountain King"?

  • hey kid you should leave theremin and masturbate once in a while , it makes you feel good, spend ypur money in candies

  • it sounded like you were trying to play hall of the mountain king for a second there.

  • so it pix up on electric waves or somein ?

  • sounds like if you force feeding a cat dish soap then squeezing it

  • @ThePureawesomness

Ha that comment was actually funnier than the video itself. No offense to the person playing it, I've heard it's an extremely hard instrument, it seems even harder than unfretted stringed instruments.

  • Do you need external speakers, or do they produce sounds from within?

  • lol who's the prick thats rating practicly everyones comments down?

  • ghost stories

  • OH MY GOD XDDD sounds like Halloween sounds

  • tabs.

  • Theremins have a slow, gradual learning curve. Persistence and an open mind are important. You should not be discouraged.

  • LOL

I have to get this and make ghost sounds on halloween

  • ya for only that,

    that would wast $400!

but really get some lessons kid, dont leave it in the corner of your bedroom and never touch it.

  • where did yoo get that one?

  • wow didn't realize it was this hard. I wanna try one of these 1 day.

  • You´ve kinda got a song going on there! But the Theremin is the most awesome instrument I've ever seen. Maybe I'll try to build one myself one of these days :)

  • im going to buy one but how does it work do i need a pc to use it or do i need a amp idk please tell me

  • all you need is an amp and a quarter inch cable to connect it.

  • Theremins are not something you just fuck around with, Be serious. It is a beautiful instrument, You are lucky to own one, so don't treat it like a toy!

  • stfu its porbably hard 2 play let him get used 2 it

  • sounds like when yoshi's are drunk in yoshi's island to the zsnes lol

  • lol... at the end i heard you play merry had a little lamb lol... keep trying

  • a 'Theremin' is played by interacting with radio waves the instrument gives off.

It typically has two oscillators that give off radio frequency. One hand controls the pitch, the other hand controls volume. Pitch and volume are manipulated depending on the distance between the player's hands and the machine.

  • keep trying

  • It's cool to see a vid like this, now I know that if I want to get one I better get readdy to pratice tons

  • that looks complicated. i would fail just as badly probably. :(

  • ART.

  • you gave me an headache

  • hey! better than me ;P

  • It's still cool.

  • Wait did I hear a song in there somewhere?

  • luigi's mansion

  • please, put your hand on the volume antenna when you're not playing!

  • You should rconsider playing along with a CD featuring some strings sounds.

And learn your damn octaves man! Jeez.

Practice Practice Practice! Its not hard to play if you work at it silly!

  • like everything

  • get laid.

  • London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. Lonon bridge is falling down!

  • LOLOLOL funny as hell haha how much?!?!

  • Lots and lots. The good ones are anywhere from $200 to $400. Mine is a $400 one, but I got it for $300 on Ebay. There are cheap one's for less, but any serious Theremist should expect to spend a lot. (This doesn't include an amp, mike stand, or audio cable)

  • idk if its cause it's 3am, and i'm effin sleepy, but i just laughed my ass off at your experimentation in this vid... its nice to laugh...

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... shleepy...

  • The trick is to move your fingers rather than your whole hand.

My advice would be to watch a giant load of theremin performance videos on YouTube and imitate what they do until you make your own style. That's what I'm doing.

  • LOL i had a blast watching you, you're hilarious! :)

  • well the title says it all i think :)

  • how much does a theremin cost?

  • To anyone who was asking, it's a Moog Etherwave Theremin kit, and it cost around $300. A little more.

P.S. How the heck did this get up to 7,000 views? I should pay more attention.

  • wat can i saw... theremins are awsome.... ur so lucky

  • Just tell me what kind and how much it costs....PLEASE!!!!

  • if you want a theremin just pray too god: 'dear god, JUST STAY OUT MY WAY!'

  • ur cool...

  • it sounds like in the hall of the mountain king

  • that is in the hall of the mountain king... or at least at some point.

  • And this is what changed my mined on buying a theremin :P

  • Rawr. Them thingeys are weird stuff. It sounds like somebody humming or a really bad tuned violin!

  • Dude where the hell did you randomly get a theremin? XD

  • he bought it dur

  • Theramins are wierd :[

  • Dang straight i'm guessing certain people can play it a certain way? Not just everybody can play it like a usual insturment?

  • U should just let me have the theremin dude

  • Seriously.. Just give it to me.

  • This is what the internet is all about.

  • This shit is funny!

  • theres a book called how to eat like a child. its kinda funny. its a kinda picture booky thing. almost.

  • nut cracker? XD

  • xD I want one.

    Share?

    <3

  • Funny shirt. Also, after watching a few other theremin videos and watching this, it's all squeaky sounding and I lol'd.

  • Haha i love your shirt dude xD

  • how hard is it to lay your hand on the volume antena when you talk....seriously!

  • OMG!!! THEREMIN ROX!!! I din even know it existed until i saw this video!!!

  • Damn I Want One.

  • How mucht does a theremin costs? You can hear that it is In the Hall of the Mountain King a bit. Keep practising!

  • They usually retail for $379-$389.

  • Thanks a lot!

  • most other instruments can be $900+

  • sorry thought it said thats a lot :D

didnt notice til after i posedt sorry

  • It was! Now I understand where the London Bridge stuff was coming from. It DOES sound similar, doesn't it?

  • Oh my god. I hadn't listened to it over again once. I DID try to play London Bridge. Apologies to all who I gave confused replies to!

  • For a beginner you have good technique, and that is more important, right now, then getting the pitch right. Pitch will come with practice. Keep at it.

  • Whether or not you intended it, your video answered a lot of questions I had about the theremin. :-)

  • Cool theremin, keep at it!

  • OMG Could it be? Another 16 year old theremin newb!?

  • The reason you had trouble trying to play London Bridge tune was that the pitch field was expanded too far out. Use the settings I mentioned, and try again.

  • I wasn't trying to play London bridge at any point.

    That's how bad I am. :P

  • Haha! It DOES sound kind of like London Bridges!

How are your skills coming along? Another vid for us?

  • What do you mean you can't play the theremin?

Just turn the pitch knob clockwise until you get no sound where you stand, and set the volume knob all the way clockwise, and you're good to go. Keep at it.
