I don't know if this was made in same way but you can record through the "video out" connector, insert it in a video-in connector on computer.

I did that with some basic cameras like Powershot, resolution is limited, I think it is probably a resolution that just looks OK on the small camera display.

I remember it also shown the markings on the screen, the macro icon and settings info, etc.
