I like the large screen and use multiple apps at the same time and also run photoshop and final cut express. I love my machine. Why a mid tower over the iMac, an all-in-one? Because an All-in-One uses laptop components of course! They're more expensive, difficult to upgrade, and offer less performance for your money. If you don't care about form factor, why not have a mid tower, it's a better value.

What a beautiful notebook that is, that AlienWare there. Very easy to work with, non-cramped full size keyboard.
A bit heavy, but as a desktop replacement, it's not a problem. Bet it gets great performance in games too, AlienWares usually have great GPUs.
So many useful shortcut and media keys too! VGA and DVI for plenty of support for external displays without adapters!
Reminds me of my own beautiful XPS M1730.

I like the large screen and use multiple apps at the same time and also run photoshop and final cut express. I love my machine. Purchased my laptop last year and don't expect to upgrade for at least 4 years. Quality, robust, os and hardware.... Apple! Thank you for your video's.

Alienware's suck, and only someone who didn't do their home work before buying would get one. Its also for gaming so its also dumb to compare it to a old macbook. Its like comparing the MacPro to the iMac. A Samsung laptop Is better to compare to the MacBook
Microsoft is also not a OEM, so they don't make PCs just for Windows like Apple does with OSX. What the title really needs to be is "Mac vs Alienware"

Mate, meaning no offense here but, you should really compare a different laptop to the mac. Its meant for gaming.
So the reason it has a big keyboard is because many gamers complain that their laptops have too small keys.
The battery only lasts 45mins because its probably powering a monster of a graphics card, or two, and a Quadcore CPU.
It is so thick because it has so much fucking hardware.
And probably OSX would run FASTER on that laptop. But i may be wrong so please let me know the specs.

About the mid towers, I don't want a mid tower, I want a higher spec Mac mini. I'd like to be able to use my own peripherals, but the current Mac mini is slower than my current iMac and it's pretty stupid to upgrade to something slower.A G4 Cube with Intel would be nice because I'm not scared of my machine getting old and I'm not scared of buying a new machine when it gets outdated so I don't need anything hugely upgradable, I'd just like a decent spec Mac that I can use my own peripherals with.

And fyi, his alienware laptop also has a DVI connector right by the VGA connector, you are blind (when i said HDMI i meant DVI, a mistake i always make for some reason) and as for all the connectors, well some people actually hook up an alienware to a %2,000 surround sound home entertainment system with 7.1/5.1 surround sound system, big screen display and so forth... and yes i have seen pc users do that
