@boomer5901 - Well, there is no such thing as "open-cone" or "close-cone" wheels. Now, there are "conical cut" which means wheels with an angled edge around them (as opposed to rounded edges or squared edges). And when wheels get worn unevenly, they are said to be "coned" or "coning". I was curious if it was some new thing I never heard of, so I even Googled it and found nothing.
@boomer5901 - "Open-cone" vs. "closed-cone"... I have absolutely no idea what she's talking about and I've been skateboarding for 25 years. The only "cones" I can think of in skateboarding are slalom cones. If she's into slalom racing, it could be a reference to courses with cones that are closer together versus cones that are farther apart. Other than that, there is nothing referencing "cones" in skateboarding that I'm aware of.

@megatron2015 - Nope. Not at all. Risers are optional. I like to use them, but I know some very good skaters who never use them at all.
