The Blossoms are fantastic on this, Darlene , Fanita and Gracia!
Even though they are using the name "The Rebelettes" on this I still think the Blossoms are fantastic.
Love Darlene's vocals at the end, she is just awesome!
These girls where just the best!
If you want to know about the recordings with Duane and the Blossoms I recommend you buy a certain CD on Amazon which features rare songs by the Darlene and the Blossoms and in the booklet Darlene talks about these sessions!
Duane Eddy has been a favorite of mine since his first tune hit the charts, and you all know how long ago that was. It is so terrific to hear them again. I still have all the original LPs.
@bindinglines Yeah, you're talking my language now....Gads I feel old, things are starting to hurt now for no reason, just wake up and....now what? {^;^}
Yes I have this on a single, it tends to be one of those that people forget along with 2 others by duane namely Caravan Parts 1 & 2 (Decca?) and Theme for Moonchildren (Reprise?) also an album which is rarely spoken of is Water Skiing which is a shame as its a gr8 album, I am wondering if maybe that title changed to the Surfing album.? Hope thats of some interest to Duane fans.Good luck to you all.
I have searched for this track for many years and had decided I had dreamed it - and today - I listened to it for the first time in maybe 45 years - still fresh! Thanks so much.
Yeah, but HE was the smart one; and moved out West. I bet he hates the rain, and probably isn't crazy about life in the big city. Pretty laid back guy. King of Twang... for sure
I grew up liostening to his stuff Hey Duane is a living legend. I hope he is with us for at least another 20 years
Fantastic! Great job by you and your band Duane! Thanks for sharing.
I wish we could get his version of Ring of Fire from the 1961 movie of the same name that starred David Janssen. Another great one in that movie was when Duane played Bobbie. I wish we could get them on youtube. Both of them were played in the first ten minutes of the movie. A great start for that movie indeed!
Duane Eddy was "The Boss Guitar Man" when I was in the third grade, fifty years ago. I think that perhaps Dick Dale possibly was influenced Duane Eddy is more likely than Eddy pulling off a parody to Dale.
@spacepatrolman The CD is Called...Girls! Girls! Girls! and is about to be released again. Check the Internet for pre-order of it. Duane Eddy, also has an all new CD that is due for release soon. It is called "Artifacts Of Twang" and has Brian Setzer and Phil Everly on it,
older music, always tells a story, plus a damn good beat. NOW its yelling, overpowered by the music.
