  • @jrst6 that's the best, people randomly swearing at you...and then saying, that's the only word I know in "Jamaica"

  • Its obvious that verbally and physically abusing your child is not good for their development, but unfortunately some people are to stupid to know.

  • SO I HAD to jump on this one.iI moved to canada when i was nine and my frist da at skool was your from jamaica sa bombo claat on d play grond.over d years i lost my accent and what i get as a young adult is'dont badda try speak patois dat nuh fit yuh' from d fresh jamaicans or da ones dat held on to there accent..also i get everybody else giveing me a( gasp0....'ur jamaican? so how u so reserve ......and the famous u dont smoke?

  • @tesha087 Exactly! And I hate that I'm basically not allowed to speak patois, because apparently my lack of accent doesn't cut it. I'm stush. whatev.

  • @petagayle yes i know how you feel. my parents were born and raised in Jamaica but i was raised in America. i was taught to speak PROPER english, for at the time my parents lived in JA, Patois was "not as popular" BUT i picked up on the Patois.

Growing up i had family hating on me because my accent is too "English washed." And "Ya parents taught u to speak proper? Ah ya too stush eh?" smh

Some people trip off of it and some don't care, you just be you for you KNOW you are Jamaican :-D

  • I guess being Jamaican in the U.S maybe hard. I live in Canada and do not experience that at all. The U.S is racially charged and driven by stereotypes. It's difficult for any nationality to live there. It's a shame.

  • kmt ya jamaican? which part ah jamaica ya born!!!

  • @jamaicandonj1 Manchester, Spalding hospital.

  • You got some sexy lips, I'll make out with u all day

  • @TruthGirl101 lmao EXACTLY! but i guess we're tougher because of it. well at least i know i am.

  • @petagayle I am too. If I wasn't jamican...I don't know lol. I feel like being jamaican gives me so much more culture than American people. I feel like some americans just don't have culture. I thank God for being apart of this culture, for being jamaican

  • @TruthGirl101 Lmao typical jamaican parents.

  • @TruthGirl101 HAHAAAAA mek mi gi yu sittin fi cry fah! dat one deh a classic lol

  • lol. this video is so true. <3 and by the way. i love your natural hair! NATURAL GIRLS RULE! <3

  • @petagayle yep. I don't think any one can tell me how jamaican i am because i CHOOSE to speak or not speak it. i pretty much got used to it though. I can turn my accent on and off. It's not that i can't speak patois i just don't see the point in proving something to you if you're just going to criticize me about it anyway. feel me?

  • finally some one says it, this is so true.

  • @Kitana I'm glad so many people agree with me

  • quick question?? wat is the type of black person that says jah and rasta?? something about their not zion culture?? I am a minority and am not being racist

  • @twitchykids Lol no worries. That would be Jamaican people, but you should take not that the average Jamaican doesn't say that. It's a rasta thing. Rastafarian-ism is a religion(way of life) that originated and is basically exclusive to jamaica, but again most jamaicans including myself are not rastafarians. I would even concider it a minority religion(way of life) as probably over 80% of Jamaicans are Christians. you should google rastafarianism it's pretty interesting

  • @petagayle One thing I dislike about ignorant people is, "hey you're Jamaican? Where's your dreads! Do you smoke," then I have to school them on the Jamaican culture and way of life.

  • @skinnyJEANking2 so true! Its not really upsetting just annoying, and then i create an awkward situation by just staring at people with a wtf face.

  • funny thing is if u go to jA u will not b considered jamaican

  • @triggy27 already been there. lived there half my life

  • I'm not Jamaican, but I am Black and I want to move to Jamaica some day (at least for a few years). I am a big medical marijuana advocate because marijuana has actually really been given an unfair reputation by the media. It has been medicinally and spiritually used for thousands of years and there has not been a single death from direct use before. There is a special oil Rick Simpson made, "Rick Simpson's Hemp Oil", and that has cured people of terminal cancer. It is an amazing medicine.

  • @JohnnyCadeLover94 hey if you can cure or help cancer patients go for it! I really could care less if people smoke pot, I just don't like the assumption that people make. that all jamaicans love pot

  • @petagayle Haha I totally get you. But that's just people, don't let them get to ya.

  • I FEEL YOU BUT BEING JAMAICAN MY SELF IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THANK YOU JESUS

  • @YourDaFinest Thank YOU JESUS!

  • Embrace the ganja and stop being a hater. They say black americans can't keep quiet in theatres! This isn't true but should we all stop going to the movies???

  • @BrkCityFG9 wow lmao. that's the funniest thing i've ever heard. I love that you actually made that argument seem logical.

  • @petagayle LOL back at cha! I was just being silly. I know what you mean though! But I have been to JA many times and.... Well lets say where I was, people did smoke a little BUT it was not the folks I stayed with! It was nice to smell that scent of someone burning one in the morning while we ate breakfast.

  • i love you too honey. mwwaaaah :-D

  • I am going to Jamaica this summer, I am half jamaican half polish :D

  • @rudolfik2007 wow that's a combination! jamaican and polish. I always say a mixture of two races or cultures is awesome because it's possible to get the best of both worlds.

  • i love u too!

  • @petagayle

You sound so much like me, in that, I am Jamaican, I have never smoked ganja and never will.

But, I do want to try ganja tea (smile) - I'm a vegetarian and like herbs and vegetation.

Keep the positive vibes flowing, sister!

  • @AllTruth1 I just became a vegetarian recently too. it's been about 2 months. although i've never had the urge to try ganga tea. i think my mom said she accidentaly gave ganga leaves to my grandma when she was back in jamaica, because she didn't know what it looked like, and some dude gave it to her. my grandma cooked it in soup or tea while my mom was at work, and it lowered her blood pressure lol. my mom smelled it when she got back and knew what it was lmao.

  • thats not just jamaicans being black period is hard.... everything u just said happen in most black households....... nice vid. tho cuttie

  • @Theldb88 probably true, i just thought of it from a jamaican perspective i guess lol. thanks

  • lmao! hahaha i feel you on the whole stereotype thing. Even worse people criticize because i don't always speak with my accent and stuff. but then again i know who i am so i dont have to prove nothing to them.

Oh and the no crying thing is how my family is too. Tears are like a mortal sin if seen haha. so yeah. :-)

  • @TajmaNaj I lost my accent a long time ago. I can still speak patuois if i want, and i can understand it perfectly fine, but I have no accent when speaking standard english. people ask me why. and then I have jamaican people tell me I'm not jamaican enough. wtf? i'm not gonna spend all my days speaking patois. no one will understand me.

  • Sis, how did you get your curls defined like that? Twist out or something?

  • I did a braid out. i learnt how to do it from natural butterfly. the only difference with mine and hers is that i do a lot of small braids instead of a few big ones. i hope that helps

  • lol@let's smoke pot. What a stereotype.

  • that totally happens though. people are nuts.
