I've read so many conflicting statements about how much PID frames advance by walking and turning, I don't know what to believe. Is every step 1 or 2 frames? And is every turn 1 or 2 frames?
For those of you that have an action replay, you can generate the .pkm file containing a perfect pokemon with a program called pokegen and then using pokecheck. org to help you legalize it. 6 Lv 100 Random Wifi-capable pokes in less than 2 hours :)
Do NPCs who walk or turn in a set pattern affect frame advancement? I'm trying to get a flawless shiny Joltik in Chargestone Cafe 1F, and there are several NPCs like this.
You REALLY have to clarify what frame you're talking about. I was confused on this for so long because I wasn't sure what you meant by "advancing the frame by saving". I was thinking "he just advanced it by walking...why couldn't he just save instead of walk 128 steps?"
Other than that, this is a great guide, and thanks for your efforts to make it.
@ZachDroVGC Each time you save your game, the frame advances by 1. bearsfan is on frame 316. If he saves 5 times, he will move 5 frames thus landing on frame 321; which is his target frame.
@bearsfan092drums hey man, i'm sorta new to this whole RNG thing...Could you please tell me if I'm supposed to use method 5 or method 5 PIDRNG to get a shiny? I've been trying to get one to learn how to use that program...at least, i usually get the same M lvl. 30 woobat, next step is: why is it not shiny? And what are "slots" in the PIDRNG tab? Thanks in advance m8
@tRaShGuTz PIDRNG to see which PID yields the shiny. If you miss the PID, you miss the shiny. Slots correspond to a table that RNGreporter comes with (check the dropdown menus on the main screen) and tell you what species will appear for that PID frame
@Linkenfant Well, the parameter info wouldn't change just because you started a new file. You just need to find a target seed and treat it like a Method 1. I don't really know why you'd need an AR.
@bearsfan092drums AR would only help me knowing my SID, but maybe this isn't required ?
I've got the last version of RNG Reporter but it seems I need a lot of data to put into it to use RNG. Isn't there a tutorial for RNGing starter pokémon ?
@Linkenfant SID isn't required unless you want them shiny, and even then, you can RNG your SID (don't ask me). As far as a tutorial for starters, there might be a written one somewhere, but I've never done it (I just don't have the time to start a new game)
@sislegend If you get the same but wrong seed, you're probably hitting your "true" timer0 value, which means the value you got during the parameter search was wrong. Do the process again and see what you get.
i have a question. I dont understand how to advance the PIDframe. in the video when you save infront of Terrakion, doesnt that mess up the next frame advancement you make because your spot is different? also wont this cause you to use another repel item? im so confused.
@bearsfan092drums also, i'm aiming for a wild Ferroseed. I know i'm hitting my seed cause its stats are correct. but when i use Chatot once, i get a Joltik. Twice gets me a Klink. Is this supposed to happen?
@GreyShadowUchiha Hit your seed. From there, find a PID frame after your calculated initial PID frame (there's a button for that) that has your desired nature, ability, and encounter slot. To determine what encounter slot you hit, check the encounter slot table for your game version. The table can be found in a dropdown menu on RNGreporter's main screen.
@bearsfan092drums last question lol sorry. My initial frame is 42. and after filling in the nature and encounter slot, the first frame I got was 525. how do i hit that?
@GreyShadowUchiha Get a synchronizer man. That will allow you to get your desired nature/encounter slot at a lower frame (probably). You'd use Chatot chatters to advance.
From what I've read, walking and/or turning in an area where wild pokemon can be caught (tall grass, cave, water, etc.) will advance the PID by 2, making RNGing for Volcarona, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Kyurem harder to RNG for Nature. That's why you would ending up in a PID range of the 300's. As for Zoroark, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom (The four mentioned can't be shiny), Landorus and Virizion, movements and turns won't advance the PID.
@ToastyBoom42 True, but there are some additional things that will advance the PIDRNG if you walk sometimes (~ every 17 steps). Use Chatot to advance PID's. It's much safer.
I'm looking for a cofagrigus. I've found out that after my 128 steps with 5 pokemon to get to the iv frame that I'm on frame 333 for pidrng. The next frame that would give me a cofagrigus with a bold nature is over 154 frames away. Is there anyway to get around having to save/chatter that many times? Smogon says that turning and stepping advances the pid frame faster but wouldn't that throw off the steps to get to the proper frame for ivs and such? Thanks a bundle.
I figured out that for the seed I want to hit, the starting PID frame is 47 (I´m in a zone with a NPC which never moves -> one of the guards in front of the victory road). The Sawk I´m looking for arrives at PID frame 64. So all I have to do is save 1x and then walk 8 steps. However, there always arrives another Pokemon with the wished IVs, bot not the Sawk I´m looking for. Then, I did it again, but this time, I simply saved 17x and then, the Sawk arrived. So what did I do wrong with the steps?
@Nepheltari It's called encounter slots. Each PID frame has a calculated number that gives your encounter slot. That number corresponds to a chart of extracted data that tells what species shows up for each slot in each area. Those charts are under a tab in RNGreporter's main window.
@Nepheltari You have to use multiple methods. Method 5 (Standard) or something like that for IV's. Method 5 PIDRNG for natures and what not. Those two options will let you type in the full seed. Most 4th gen options use a seed with only 8 hexadecimal digits. You're probably on one of those options, which won't allow you to type everything.
Awesome vids! quick question though. Can I use chatot's chatter to advance the frame even if I am not using it for the PIDRNG. Like can I use him in giant chasm to capture a ditto with ability and nature set to 'Any', or do I have to only use the 128 step frame advancement method to do so?
On the version of RNG reporter I am using (9.81 Beta), there is a button that will tell you what PIDRNG frame you start on. It makes abusing for natures much simpler.
@Bizzrawl I'm fully aware of that. I made this video before Standard Abuse was even available to the public, so it's sort of natural that bits of my tutorials become outdated
@bearsfan092drums After watching your Abuse for Bred Pokémon video, I see you mentioned it there. Anyway, your tutorials are fantastic and very helpful.
Great tutorial. I just wonder how this method works for wild pokemon, since I have tried it on grass and sometimes the pokemon I want does not appear (it's not the only one in the area), so I restart the time and try again, but I find the same pokemon again and again, even if it's a rare one. I have a Synchronize pokemon, does that affect the PID frame advancement?
@ShinyMasterX Shiny legendaries for the most part are possible. Victini, along with Reshiram and Zekrom, have these weird PID checks that prevent them from being shiny. And don't let anyone tell you that Reshiram and Zekrom at DragonSpiral Tower can be shiny. They simply can't be and are subject to the same PID check.
@MidniteProphets Find your target spread, right click and hit "Copy Full Seed" or something similar. Go back to the main window. Set method to Method 5 PIDRNG and paste the seed where it says Seed (Hex). Click Generate. Voila.
Yeah mine apparently fluctuates between C7B and C7C. Is there anyway to fix this? Or at least make it less volatile? Because it really sucks when I have to save 60 times or so to advance the PID frame only to find that the timer0 was wrong -_- I haven't finished the game yet so I don't have a chatot to use...
Nvm I figured out my last question. I have one more: So I'm trying to RNG Cobalion, and I have everything down, except half the time my IVs are wrong. The other half, they are right. I'm positive that I'm hitting the time right for the IVRNG, but it still varies for some reason. I'm also sure I'm not hitting any buttons during the start screen...
@Rennir Yeah, timer0 can fluctuate, remember? That's what's happening to you. Most of the time on a retail cartridge, it only varies by one, which explains why you have two sets. On flashcarts, it could be a whole bunch of situations. The frequency of timer0 fluctuation varies from DS to DS, so you'll just have to be patient.
@BamfCross I just released the egg video like three days ago. It also works on non stationary pokemon, but NPC's advance the PIDRNG, so you have to be quick and be prepared to adjust.
Hey, I followed the guide but I seem to get stuck on having the Pokemon I'm trying to capture shiny. I'm catching a shiny HP Fighting Gothorita. I keep getting the right Pokemon, nature, and IVs. But not the shininess. What do I do?
Okay, so I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm able to get the correct IVs the first time no problem (most of the time). But when I reset to try to get a new nature, the IVs get all messed up. I also keep getting the exact same seed (Date/Time and all) in the Time Finder. Thanks in advance.
@megabenlinksonicman Never mind, fixed it. Don't know exactly what I was doing wrong, but I now have my awesome Mienfoo. Thanks a bunch for the tutorial. :D
@SeanSymphony I just did this like 5 minutes ago. Its really easy to dispel the fog, its explained on the smogon thread. First save in the chasm with your party and items ready. Then turn the game off and change the time to one month later. Restart, and encounter any wild pokemon (you can just run away). You'll notice now that the fog is gone and if you save again you can change the time to the one you need and get one fog free battle when you go for the RNGed ditto. I hope this helps, good luck
@SeanSymphony The key to getting rid of the fog is fighting one battle after you change the month. You change the month, start the game, and it will still be foggy. Then you find one wild pokemon, and run away. The season changes to summer. and there wont be fog. Now you have to save and turn off the game. Then you can change the ds clock to the desired time for your seed and start then. Anytime you restart from that point you get one battle without fog, and thats all you need.
Wow, I actually practiced this on Cobalion...and it worked for me! Wahoo! They say if you can do this for natures, you can also do this for shininess as long as you have your SID and you select Shiny Only. Now that I have practiced this, I'm confident I can at least get a shiny. My problem was that I was not taking the exact same route each time so that was why my PID sequence wasn't working for me.
Hi, thanks a lot for the video but I'm curious, does a repel, or any of its variants, stop the PIDRNG advancement via turning and walking in an area with wild pokemon or not? if I have an IV frame higher than one, the starting PID frame will be affected by the steps no matter what and I'll have to calibrate my PID frame?
Is it possible to find your Secret ID in B/W without hacking, and without having to restart the game to abuse for ID/SID combinations? In the latest RNG Reporter, I noticed the IVs to PID feature is under the tab for 4th-gen tools, so I'm assuming that doesn't actually find 5th-gen SIDs?
@DrDimentio You can use a program called ir-gts-bw to find your SID. All you need is a computer/laptop that connects to the same network as your DS wifi.
Despite being a Vikings fan, I found your videos EXTREMELY helpful. Full of lots of great information, one thing... Maybe smooth out your speaking, you sounded kind of choppy. You almost sounded nervous, maybe that's just the way you talk. No big deal, just a thought.
Me again - I was wondering if there was a way to RNG a shiny Thundurus after beating the E4? Obviously the PIDRNG goes crazy due to the rain in Route 7, so that's not an option for me. I don't know how I'd go about RNGing during a battle though..
@conman9090 There's a reason why it says Legends/Wild in the title. As far as your desired species, it's PIDRNG based. RNGreporter will display the encounter slot for that PID, which corresponds to a chart (right click in RNGreporter to see it), which will tell you what species you will find.
Hey ive got to where i need to save 4 times, can I go out and find a jolly synchro' pokemon, then come back, or do I have to carry on staying in the same spot? resettig etc if you get me? :)
@tUBEwATCHER890 Chances are you're going to run into issues. You have to walk a shit-ton of steps to reach IV frame 210. If you do it with any NPC's or Wild Pokemon, you'll miss Frame 233 PID shininess for sure. If you're in a quiet NPC zone and no Pokemon to bother you, you could do it by advancing with a Chatot (with a recorded chatter and viewing it's summary = +1 PIDRNG frame).
@iAMaFLAMINGcunt Eh, it's doable, but I've never done it. I personally think it's a humongous waste of time. If you breed it, you have the same ball but with egg moves.
@Pouleeeeet Trainer ID and Secret ID, it's to manipulate your ID number when you start a new game. You'll then know your ID and SID and then you can get shinies.
Do i have to search all the 100.000 hits to find my nature pattern? im trying to get a shiny, but there are like 5 in 100.000 hits, and not only that, i cant find my nature sequence so easy in 100.000 hits. Any tips to search faster or for shinies easier?
@JFgamer297 If you didn't do more than like 300 steps and you're looking beyond PID frame 1500, you're probably doing something wrong. I'll bet RNGreporter includes a nature search at some point though.
@bearsfan092drums I hope it includes a search nature function that works like the search h/t or search elm function for gen4. Also, I've noticed that the 1st poke I encounter doesn't show up on the list while after advancing the frame they show up all in a row.
@bearsfan092drums So if i at the time finder fill in shiny only, then 50 frames, i should get a shiny within 50 saves? or do i still need to go to the main rng screen to fidn shinies? It still a little fussy for me, don't really know yet how to do shinies. But thanks for replying and helping, and hope you can also help me on this :) your tutorials are great.
Wow, quite a process. I'm learning all this and its quite a bit to take in, but I'm thankful for all your tutorials, they really help me out so thank you :,)
@jfdnew ID/SID only matters if you want shininess. As far as your sequence in concerned, make sure you are taking a perfectly consistent path. A lot of people feel like they can take liberties with this step and wonder why the results fail. In addition, try to keep your mind flexible. If you get Modest-Adamant-Timid, but find Modest-Gentle-Adamant-Timid in RNGreporter, chances are that is where you're at.
@bearsfan092drums Ty, I figured it out. I was trying to RNG ditto in the Giant Chasm but I wasn't taking into account the fact that walking/turning advances the PIDRNG which is why I couldn't find my sequence. I was thinking the natures should be right next to each other like in the vid but that was not the case.
@Halo15Freak There hasn't been a straight up written guide for shiny eggs for BW yet. However, what you do is hit your seed and see what PID's yield shiny Pokemon. However, you're a lot more limited in making shiny pokemon this time around, which is why some people like to RNG their ID/SID (if you ask me how I will kill you, unless somebody wants to buy me Pokemon White)
could you please elaborate on how to get flawless ivs through breeding? when i try to generate more than 3 ivs in the rng reporter, i end up with no results.
Could you do a tutorial on breeding? For example, how do we control which IVs are passed down? What about nature/ability? Do we RNG the PIDRNG to the correct nature and ability then put the parents in the daycare and forget about it?
@kittyloaf Somehow this escaped my attention I think. IV inheritance is controlled by genders rather than A/B like 4th generation. The IV's and PID's are somewhat independent but generated at the same time. The inheritance and PID can be seen under Breeding (BW) and its international counterpart. Egg PID's are pretty much like wild PID's. The IV's are based off of the IV's that a wild Pokemon would get for the frame/seed.
@hoiboy909 Finding out shinies is not hard in the slightest. Use the PID search with your ID and SID and it will find a low one. However, you'll find that it's a lot harder to get shinies this generation with good IV's, so if you can RNG abuse your ID/SID (No I won't be making a video for this), you'll be at an advantage. Roamers follow the same strategy as this video, so it doesn't warrant another video.
Sorry, I didn't realize the video was about the non c-gear till now..I have been using the c-cear one and i was curious if you have any tips on how to reach your seed easier.
can you include a link to where you downloaded your version of RNG reporter. I currently have 9.0 beta but it doesnt support english cartirdges or IV spreads.
so i got the right iv spread on cobalion but the nature was sassy. when i was using a synchronizer and saved once the cobalions nature changed to jolly, however its ivs changed also. but when i saved once and was not using the synchronizer, its nature changed to jolly and its ivs stayed the same. do you know why the ivs changed when using a synchronizer?
In this video you save once in front of terrakion. How did you get back to facing downwards to repeat the process over again? Did you have to load up your game again just to move back into your starting position'?
I've been able to get the IVs I want with Cobalion. However, I'm not having much luck with natures. I have been trying to Synchronize using a Munna (Timid), but the Cobalion keeps ending up as Bold. Admittedly, though, I have only tried Synchronizing 3 times so far.
I've read so many conflicting statements about how much PID frames advance by walking and turning, I don't know what to believe. Is every step 1 or 2 frames? And is every turn 1 or 2 frames?

@bearsfan092drums After watching your Abuse for Bred Pokémon video, I see you mentioned it there. Anyway, your tutorials are fantastic and very helpful.
Bizzrawl 8 months ago
Great tutorial. I just wonder how this method works for wild pokemon, since I have tried it on grass and sometimes the pokemon I want does not appear (it's not the only one in the area), so I restart the time and try again, but I find the same pokemon again and again, even if it's a rare one. I have a Synchronize pokemon, does that affect the PID frame advancement?
0Sebek0 8 months ago
too bad the skips in your video makes it hard to believe that you are doing this without an ar.
thehantavirus 8 months ago
@thehantavirus If you're suspicious, go suck one. It works for everyone else. If you're not, :)
bearsfan092drums 8 months ago 2
worked perfectly! took some time to learn but i got a perfect reshiram with modest nature!!
RoyYayo 8 months ago
@ShinyMasterX Typically 1, but it might vary on for a specific legendary. Check up on it before attempting, or perhaps even find out yourself.
bearsfan092drums 8 months ago
@ShinyMasterX Shiny legendaries for the most part are possible. Victini, along with Reshiram and Zekrom, have these weird PID checks that prevent them from being shiny. And don't let anyone tell you that Reshiram and Zekrom at DragonSpiral Tower can be shiny. They simply can't be and are subject to the same PID check.

Can i use an AR code (100% catch rate) when RNGing?
It would speed up the process if i'd want a specific pokémon in a flashy pokéball, like Virizion in a Nest Ball *w*
Thanks for the vids anyway, helped me alot with BW standard Abuse. :3
friddynine 8 months ago
@friddynine I have used that code unintentionally... with a Master Ball and it does not mess up the process at all.
bearsfan092drums 8 months ago
@bearsfan092drums Thanks, i'll test it myself when i go buy an AR then.
friddynine 8 months ago
I can't figure out how to get the chart shown at 2:41. Can someone explain to me how he got that.
MidniteProphets 8 months ago
@MidniteProphets Find your target spread, right click and hit "Copy Full Seed" or something similar. Go back to the main window. Set method to Method 5 PIDRNG and paste the seed where it says Seed (Hex). Click Generate. Voila.
bearsfan092drums 8 months ago
Yeah mine apparently fluctuates between C7B and C7C. Is there anyway to fix this? Or at least make it less volatile? Because it really sucks when I have to save 60 times or so to advance the PID frame only to find that the timer0 was wrong -_- I haven't finished the game yet so I don't have a chatot to use...
Rennir 8 months ago
Nvm I figured out my last question. I have one more: So I'm trying to RNG Cobalion, and I have everything down, except half the time my IVs are wrong. The other half, they are right. I'm positive that I'm hitting the time right for the IVRNG, but it still varies for some reason. I'm also sure I'm not hitting any buttons during the start screen...
Rennir 9 months ago
@Rennir And it's always consistent too. The result varies between two sets of different IVs
Rennir 9 months ago
@Rennir Yeah, timer0 can fluctuate, remember? That's what's happening to you. Most of the time on a retail cartridge, it only varies by one, which explains why you have two sets. On flashcarts, it could be a whole bunch of situations. The frequency of timer0 fluctuation varies from DS to DS, so you'll just have to be patient.
bearsfan092drums 8 months ago
These methods work on non stationary pokemon? I've already caught all the legends and stuff before I knew about this. Also what about hatching eggs?
BamfCross 9 months ago
@BamfCross I just released the egg video like three days ago. It also works on non stationary pokemon, but NPC's advance the PIDRNG, so you have to be quick and be prepared to adjust.
bearsfan092drums 9 months ago
Hey, I followed the guide but I seem to get stuck on having the Pokemon I'm trying to capture shiny. I'm catching a shiny HP Fighting Gothorita. I keep getting the right Pokemon, nature, and IVs. But not the shininess. What do I do?
BrendaAvery 9 months ago
@BrendaAvery Sounds like you either aren't hitting the correct PID frame or else didn't enter your ID and SID correctly.

Is timid good for Terrakion/Cobalion?
My Virizion is Gentle...

Loved the video tut! But, I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to abuse for a Shiny Stationary legendary.
Kishinist 10 months ago
Great job, awesome video!
MrPetemike 10 months ago
Okay, so I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm able to get the correct IVs the first time no problem (most of the time). But when I reset to try to get a new nature, the IVs get all messed up. I also keep getting the exact same seed (Date/Time and all) in the Time Finder. Thanks in advance.
megabenlinksonicman 10 months ago
@megabenlinksonicman Never mind, fixed it. Don't know exactly what I was doing wrong, but I now have my awesome Mienfoo. Thanks a bunch for the tutorial. :D
megabenlinksonicman 10 months ago
You could just do all the procedures for IVs and just use a synchronizer for the desired nature right?
AceTrainerGreen 10 months ago
@AceTrainerGreen That is what I said in the first video. That is correct.

i want to get a Flawless ditto - but i can't Sweet scent in giant chasm - so how do i get it?
SeanSymphony 10 months ago
@SeanSymphony Might want to import one from DPPtHGSS or else get lucky and hope you encounter one by walking.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
@SeanSymphony I just did this like 5 minutes ago. Its really easy to dispel the fog, its explained on the smogon thread. First save in the chasm with your party and items ready. Then turn the game off and change the time to one month later. Restart, and encounter any wild pokemon (you can just run away). You'll notice now that the fog is gone and if you save again you can change the time to the one you need and get one fog free battle when you go for the RNGed ditto. I hope this helps, good luck
Blazade 10 months ago
@Blazade been trying that for the past ten minutes - it's set to may, so i changed it to june - started and it was still foggy =/
SeanSymphony 10 months ago
@SeanSymphony The key to getting rid of the fog is fighting one battle after you change the month. You change the month, start the game, and it will still be foggy. Then you find one wild pokemon, and run away. The season changes to summer. and there wont be fog. Now you have to save and turn off the game. Then you can change the ds clock to the desired time for your seed and start then. Anytime you restart from that point you get one battle without fog, and thats all you need.
Blazade 10 months ago
@Blazade thanks <3

Thanks a ton for this vid btw! You ROCK! This is the only way I figured out what I was doing wrong!
Hbdach 10 months ago
Wow, I actually practiced this on Cobalion...and it worked for me! Wahoo! They say if you can do this for natures, you can also do this for shininess as long as you have your SID and you select Shiny Only. Now that I have practiced this, I'm confident I can at least get a shiny. My problem was that I was not taking the exact same route each time so that was why my PID sequence wasn't working for me.
Hbdach 10 months ago
Hi, thanks a lot for the video but I'm curious, does a repel, or any of its variants, stop the PIDRNG advancement via turning and walking in an area with wild pokemon or not? if I have an IV frame higher than one, the starting PID frame will be affected by the steps no matter what and I'll have to calibrate my PID frame?
mephiztopheles 10 months ago
@mephiztopheles The only thing a repel stops is the actual encounter. All PID advancements will continue to take place.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
Is it possible to find your Secret ID in B/W without hacking, and without having to restart the game to abuse for ID/SID combinations? In the latest RNG Reporter, I noticed the IVs to PID feature is under the tab for 4th-gen tools, so I'm assuming that doesn't actually find 5th-gen SIDs?
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio You can use a program called ir-gts-bw to find your SID. All you need is a computer/laptop that connects to the same network as your DS wifi.
jfdnew 10 months ago
@jfdnew Ok, I'll look into it... thanks.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
Despite being a Vikings fan, I found your videos EXTREMELY helpful. Full of lots of great information, one thing... Maybe smooth out your speaking, you sounded kind of choppy. You almost sounded nervous, maybe that's just the way you talk. No big deal, just a thought.

@ShinyMasterX Yes, you can.
iAMaFLAMINGcunt 10 months ago
Me again - I was wondering if there was a way to RNG a shiny Thundurus after beating the E4? Obviously the PIDRNG goes crazy due to the rain in Route 7, so that's not an option for me. I don't know how I'd go about RNGing during a battle though..
iAMaFLAMINGcunt 10 months ago
Question:
Do these same techniques apply for a pokemon in wild grass? would you just sweet scent and hope for your desired poke?
conman9090 10 months ago
@conman9090 There's a reason why it says Legends/Wild in the title. As far as your desired species, it's PIDRNG based. RNGreporter will display the encounter slot for that PID, which corresponds to a chart (right click in RNGreporter to see it), which will tell you what species you will find.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
Hey ive got to where i need to save 4 times, can I go out and find a jolly synchro' pokemon, then come back, or do I have to carry on staying in the same spot? resettig etc if you get me? :)
samdotcom31 10 months ago
Also, there is no Method you used on the nature patterns in the new version of RNG Reporter. What should I be using instead of Method 5 Natures?
robes253 10 months ago
Is this still necessary in the new version? It has a spot where you can just pick nature, and check the shiny box if you have your SID.
robes253 10 months ago
If you find a shiny spread with, say, Frame 210 and Nearest Shiny, 233, do you walk enough steps to get to frame 210? What about 233?
How do you do this process?
tUBEwATCHER890 10 months ago
@tUBEwATCHER890 Chances are you're going to run into issues. You have to walk a shit-ton of steps to reach IV frame 210. If you do it with any NPC's or Wild Pokemon, you'll miss Frame 233 PID shininess for sure. If you're in a quiet NPC zone and no Pokemon to bother you, you could do it by advancing with a Chatot (with a recorded chatter and viewing it's summary = +1 PIDRNG frame).

Is there any way to RNG yourself a shiny starter at the beginning of the game, or is it a lost cause?
iAMaFLAMINGcunt 10 months ago
@iAMaFLAMINGcunt Eh, it's doable, but I've never done it. I personally think it's a humongous waste of time. If you breed it, you have the same ball but with egg moves.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
@bearsfan092drums
On the latest version of Rng Reporter (9.75 beta)
There is a function named: TID/SID manipulation (''Pandora's Box'')
What does it do? What's a ''TID''? Do you need to hack to get all the information it needs?
Pouleeeeet 10 months ago
@Pouleeeeet Trainer ID and Secret ID, it's to manipulate your ID number when you start a new game. You'll then know your ID and SID and then you can get shinies.
Kaphotics 10 months ago
Do i have to search all the 100.000 hits to find my nature pattern? im trying to get a shiny, but there are like 5 in 100.000 hits, and not only that, i cant find my nature sequence so easy in 100.000 hits. Any tips to search faster or for shinies easier?
JFgamer297 10 months ago
@JFgamer297 If you didn't do more than like 300 steps and you're looking beyond PID frame 1500, you're probably doing something wrong. I'll bet RNGreporter includes a nature search at some point though.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
@bearsfan092drums I hope it includes a search nature function that works like the search h/t or search elm function for gen4. Also, I've noticed that the 1st poke I encounter doesn't show up on the list while after advancing the frame they show up all in a row.
ZetoTarken 10 months ago
@bearsfan092drums So if i at the time finder fill in shiny only, then 50 frames, i should get a shiny within 50 saves? or do i still need to go to the main rng screen to fidn shinies? It still a little fussy for me, don't really know yet how to do shinies. But thanks for replying and helping, and hope you can also help me on this :) your tutorials are great.

jfdnew 11 months ago
@jfdnew ID/SID only matters if you want shininess. As far as your sequence in concerned, make sure you are taking a perfectly consistent path. A lot of people feel like they can take liberties with this step and wonder why the results fail. In addition, try to keep your mind flexible. If you get Modest-Adamant-Timid, but find Modest-Gentle-Adamant-Timid in RNGreporter, chances are that is where you're at.
bearsfan092drums 11 months ago
@bearsfan092drums Ty, I figured it out. I was trying to RNG ditto in the Giant Chasm but I wasn't taking into account the fact that walking/turning advances the PIDRNG which is why I couldn't find my sequence. I was thinking the natures should be right next to each other like in the vid but that was not the case.
jfdnew 11 months ago
There is a way to get RNG Reporter from smogon's site despite it being down. Here's how:
1.) Google "Smogon 5th Gen RNG".
2.) DO NOT click on the first link but rather click on the first link's "Cached" link.
3.) The site won't load normally so cllick the "Text Only Version" button at the top right".
3.) From there scroll down and find the RNG reporter link in the first post (it's close to the top.

Halo15Freak 10 months ago
@Halo15Freak There hasn't been a straight up written guide for shiny eggs for BW yet. However, what you do is hit your seed and see what PID's yield shiny Pokemon. However, you're a lot more limited in making shiny pokemon this time around, which is why some people like to RNG their ID/SID (if you ask me how I will kill you, unless somebody wants to buy me Pokemon White)

could you please elaborate on how to get flawless ivs through breeding? when i try to generate more than 3 ivs in the rng reporter, i end up with no results.
orbacedough 11 months ago
Could you do a tutorial on breeding? For example, how do we control which IVs are passed down? What about nature/ability? Do we RNG the PIDRNG to the correct nature and ability then put the parents in the daycare and forget about it?
kittyloaf 11 months ago 16
@kittyloaf It will be done at some point. My life is busy as hell for a while.
bearsfan092drums 11 months ago
@bearsfan092drums I understand completely. Im swamped with work for the next 3 weeks from school
kittyloaf 11 months ago
@kittyloaf Somehow this escaped my attention I think. IV inheritance is controlled by genders rather than A/B like 4th generation. The IV's and PID's are somewhat independent but generated at the same time. The inheritance and PID can be seen under Breeding (BW) and its international counterpart. Egg PID's are pretty much like wild PID's. The IV's are based off of the IV's that a wild Pokemon would get for the frame/seed.
bearsfan092drums 10 months ago
You should make a video on how to get roamers + shinies :)
hoiboy909 11 months ago
@hoiboy909 Finding out shinies is not hard in the slightest. Use the PID search with your ID and SID and it will find a low one. However, you'll find that it's a lot harder to get shinies this generation with good IV's, so if you can RNG abuse your ID/SID (No I won't be making a video for this), you'll be at an advantage. Roamers follow the same strategy as this video, so it doesn't warrant another video.

llopez029 11 months ago
@llopez029 Use the calibration function. If you're off by a consistent amount, EonTimer will adjust itself so you hit your target.
bearsfan092drums 11 months ago
can you include a link to where you downloaded your version of RNG reporter. I currently have 9.0 beta but it doesnt support english cartirdges or IV spreads.
I0is0x0psp0x 11 months ago
so i got the right iv spread on cobalion but the nature was sassy. when i was using a synchronizer and saved once the cobalions nature changed to jolly, however its ivs changed also. but when i saved once and was not using the synchronizer, its nature changed to jolly and its ivs stayed the same. do you know why the ivs changed when using a synchronizer?
orbacedough 11 months ago
@orbacedough IVs don't change when you use a synchronizer. You missed your seed or screwed up frame advancement.
bearsfan092drums 11 months ago
In this video you save once in front of terrakion. How did you get back to facing downwards to repeat the process over again? Did you have to load up your game again just to move back into your starting position'?
hobuddah 11 months ago
@hobuddah Yep
bearsfan092drums 11 months ago
I've been able to get the IVs I want with Cobalion. However, I'm not having much luck with natures. I have been trying to Synchronize using a Munna (Timid), but the Cobalion keeps ending up as Bold. Admittedly, though, I have only tried Synchronizing 3 times so far.
