I know that Nikon started the whole DSLR video thing with the Nikon D90, but now Canon is ahead of Nikon with it on the lower to mid end of their cameras. My opinion: DSLRs are still mostly about the stills and the video is just a little "bonus." I choose Nikon, because I'm all about the stills and less about the video. I'm not saying that Canon doesn't do well with stills, but I just think that Nikon does slightly better. I wish Nikon had a high-end 50mm like Canon's. I'm broke anyway.
Yeah, that's hard to decide whether you will shoot video or still for a certain event... If I shoot stills I might miss a shot.. If I shoot video I'll get the whole thing but in a larger file and not so good quality...
On the other hand, I love DSLR video, the best value for video.
@ihateyaacov Nothing beats the d3s at this point in my opinion. I love Nikon. I will say every sports illustrator photograper went from canon to Nikon whe. The d3 came out.
@JaredPolin ah, its just that you always see the white or grey lenses at sports games so it got me wondering... i know you love nikon and all that so you would know in the long run would it be cheaper to invest in canon and buy their glass because i heard the huge telephoto nikon lenses are more expensive. Also are there any sports you would recommend one over the other?
@ihateyaacov Now a days it's split pretty evenly between Nikon and canon on the sidelines. Just knowing that all the si shooters went from canon to Nikon says a lot to me. Both glass is amazing but nothing beats the d3s now.
Thanks for the video. That was so impressive. I have D300s and have not even played with the video and until now have not really had the desire. Looking at how sharp the picture is, is just awesome. I can see every hair of that Fro. The DOF is spectacular. I have to say I do not want to see any more YouTube videos in standard definition. You will just have to set up the camera on you desk from now on :) Thanks
i love the quality i digg the frow shut up bird lol thats how i talked to my birds when i had them im getting a d5000 im saving up 1/2 the money and my moms doing the other 1/2 and tax
do you edit with premiere pro? use a highpass filter to cut the wind noise, maybe a low pass filter to get rid of the bird lol

The video quality was very good. People think that if they had video on their dslr that they wont use it. but its a great feature to have.
