4 sure my hero back in the day we were in miami try'n to do what they did in skate parks but we only had wood no parks ! They closed the only one we had not long after they open cause a dude after hours jump the gate & killed himself !!!!

I remember meeting Mike at Pipeline before anyone knew who he was. We were both about 13 and he was skinny as a twig...but man, that guy was doing flyout 360's and getting air like I've never seen anyone before. I'm glad I got to see the contests betweeen him and Eddie !!

I always wondered how Eddie Fiola beat him on this day. Also he out rode Eddie in the first round of 84 at the pipe, the AFA judging sucked. Mike ripped as proof on the video.

eddie was more popular as was gt,mike always killed eddie with his big air and technical tricks.eddie was more of a smooth rider.i loved to watch them both bitd.both were good role models for kids back then.
