this could also make quite a few species of reptiles/amphibians go extinct because of the habitats being destroyed in the wild, and some species are only alive because of captivity. but like you said they probably dont give a shit about it.
@pythontricker u got some gorgeous morphs there sorry to hear about sniper very sad my ball python also burnt itself pretty bad a few years ago but thankfully hes ok now keep the vids comin
please be sure you and everyone you know have went to nohr669 (.) com and sent you letters to congress. Its fast and free and VERY important! Please take the time to call your representative and voice your opinion! There is only 2 days left to fight this bill and the fight is far from over! This could actually pass and it would be devastating!
thanks for the vid. you mentioned that "little kids will not be able to have betta fish anymore. and we will not be able to keep any non native animals" that is not exactly true. If we have them already they will be grandfathered in. we will not have to get rid of anything that we have we just wont be able to buy, sell, breed, ship..etc. any new non natives
I am trying to understand this bill. I mean it does come from a good idea - that nonnative animals harm the environment, and many are abused in the business, but this goes so far that I don't understand who could have written it.
Your idea of their reasoning @ 3:05 that they don't want snakes eating dogs doesn't make sense. Alligators are abused for those reasons, and they ARE native!
Finally, most of us are descended from immigrants. And we do a hell of a lot more damage than the animals.
The thing I am worried about is that if pet shops, both big and small, can't sell exotic animals they will lose money so they wont be able to sell us food and support because they will go out of business. You can own exotics, but you can't sell them, breed them, or ship them.
treepython20, the docile or gentle dispositions/personalities of many species and specimens, while maybe also depending partly on genetics, greatly relies on the quality and frequency of human interaction and husbandry.
