I wish I had the money to get a scope like Damian Peach has...and also be able to travel where the seeing is so good :). I'm up in Michigan and we have to take advantage when the seeing and weather is good.
Weather hasn't been good up here for the past month or so, so I haen't been able to get out to do any imaging.
When I took the videos to get this image, the southern belt had disappeared for the season...it reappeared sometime at the end of last year..It happens every so often.
@MattCostello12 I take it you don't believe in Celestron C-6's, Philips webcams and image stacking then? Careful with the answer, since if it's "no" then you're an idiot that knows not what's outside his own experience.
oh my god this is so beautiful ! wow the best I've seen so far ! Could you share your experience on how to judge on a "good night" for seeing ? What are the characteristics ?
When I first got the telescope, I was a bit disappointed with the images I was getting. I now know that the seeing at the time when I was taking the images was not good. With the experience, I now know what nights look to be good nights for imaging and what nights aren't worth trying.
@zAmb0ni nice animation i still dont know how you did that?!? but anyway what telescope did you use, was it the C6 NGT or the C6 SGT? and how do you know what nights are the best of observing?
@zAmb0ni I´m in the astronomy club of our school since october 2011 but i`m not able to understand if there is good or bad seeing without looking to a planet trough the telescope. can you give mi some advice?
are you kidding me??? i have the same aperture but never got an image that clear of our giant neighbor :-< city sky is no good for astronomy... any kind of astronomy
Is this real mate?
the quality looks far too high def for amateur astronomy.. but if it is, damn good job!!

I went to an observatory on a clear night.. I saw Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede. That is what started my space obsession.

Amazingly good job!
All this computer work (stacking and sharpening), it pays out in the end, doesn't it.
You can obviously achieve stunning results with a C6, provided you know what you are doing.
Your efforts are much appreciated, thank you very much indeed!
Best regards from Berlin, Germany,
Götz
