I got a throat infection from breathing in the mist that blew in off the water while walking along Lido Beach. Don't stay on the beach too long, you will get sick. lol

The move desinater!! Simple, hate it ..move. Holy smokes! The tourists do keep that area going you do know that right? That's why it is called a tourist area. I lived there for almost 14 years and loved it. Miss it. had to move because of family. It is gorgeous there.

I'm from the caribbean, Trinidad to be exact, that's why I can relate to this vid. Moving from the caribbean to New York is like go to another planet. And what's wrong??? You don't like the beach, ocean and beautiful sunset with the lovely weather????

Gee.....someone failed to mention what it's like when the Red Tide comes in. I used to work out on Longboat Key which is near Sarasota. When red tide hi,t it would make you sick because of all the dead fish floating around and on the beaches. Red tide kills sea life. It happens several times a year and no one knows when it will happen. So if you are thinking of coming, be sure to call ahead and find out if there is any effects of red tide in the gulf before you visit.

water in the gulf of mexico has its good days and its bad days, i have seen it where it was very clear, and other days where you cant see anything. i think that when there is a cold front that moves the water around and it gets clearer, but its still pretty clear most of the time. just depends really, like most things, nature has its own mind.

How clear is the water here? I"ve been to treasure island beach which is not too far from here, but I thought TIsland sucked, very merky water there, at least it was when I was there. Very curious to know how nice the water is here, Thanks.

I've been to Hawaii, Puerto Rico and many other beach areas. Lido is the best, and the "circle" and downtown area have lots to do. You can walk almost anywhere.

BETWEEN THE 2 WHITE IDENTICAL HOTELS, GO OUT ABOUT CHEST DEEP IN THE OCEAN. BRING A PAIR OF GOGGLES AND A BAG TO CARRY THEM IN. DIVE DOWN AND YOU WILL SEE SAND DOLLARS HALF BURIED ALL OVER THE PLACE...

Those identical "hotels" are condos...just a bit of trivia. and please, if you take sand dollars out of chest deep water they are still alive. You should only take the ones up on the sand that are dry and brittle. Those are dead. Taking them out of the water kills them :(

Actually these sand dollars are white, which means they are dead. The black sand dollars are alive, which we leave alone.
