Hey Lee with regards to the 300 workout would you only do that routine on that day or would you possibly do another routine like chest or shoulders or do you think the 300 hundred workout is enough for that day. p.s my shoulders are huge due to they front side and rear delt video i followed i have to walk out the gym side ways now lol ha ha!!
You'll need to focus on getting stronger with pull ups first before trying this exercise. I'd suggest that you check out the "Progressive Pull Up Program" to help improve your pull up / chin up strength. It's a graduated training system that works.
Lee how often do you do these kind of hybrid exercises? For the most part you'll just do regular weighted pull ups right? Moves like barbell curl and press are seldom performed
I also stick to the basics most of the time, but you can add variations like this in your workouts when ever you want to change things up. There's no set "rules", the hybrid moves like this still work the muscles just as hard as the standard basic moves.

@mma171 If u don't control the swinging, yes. But try a very controlled swing or even 1-arm hang for a few seconds on each side. I've had shoulder issues & this works 4 me.
Lee, have you ever tried sternum chinups/pullups, they are a really good advanced variation of pullups and chinups where the bar comes down to your mid to lower chest at the top. Youtube it to see what it looks like, i find this variation really usefull since it combines the rowing horzontal movement with the vertical pull movement, works loads of muscles at once and is a huge compound exercise.
i havae just started doin pull ups again and forgot how hard they are lol will try this swinger style l8r and get baack to let u know how i get on,looks like a good streach tho
Looks more like monkey/chimpanzee pull ups.. But their effective =D

I do not have a pull up bar, and gym is closed for refurbishment. So ill just go out early in the morning on the monkey bars at the park XD

Usually it's only pushing exercises that bother the rotator cuff, not so much pulling exercises. That's the way it is for me anyway.
