Have you ever tried one of the MATTE nail polishes for stamping? Perhaps they are more pigmented? I have both BM sets and many Konad plates. I have long nails and don't know how to get a "whole nail" design since the designs are too small to cover my entire nail surface. Even the french tips are not deep enough.
@dollcina Hi, I've never tried matte polishes for stamping no. I've seen SimpleLittlePleasues use Konad on her long nails, she seems to repeat the pattern half way up her nail and it looks really good. It's such a shame konad don't make bigger images :(
Wow a big thumbs up ! And oh so strange... This afternoon, I was in my car, coming back from work & thought I wanted to do some strawberry nails again & that I should try to wear my fimo cherries.... & here is your video... I love it.... this is a great inspiration. Thanks for sharing ~_*
What top coat do you use? I have big struggles finding a good topcoat. The problem with most of them is that if you put a lot on the brush to fix beads or other things on your nail, is that when they dry they make bubbles. I HATE those bubbles! So Please help me finding a good top coat! Is there a good drugstore top coat? Cause in the uSA I used seche-vite, but now I'm in Italy, and that one does not exist here.
@MatsuriAndGaara281 Hi, I made a video about topcoats, its on my channel. I answered a question about bubbly topcoat in the comments section of that video too, take a look and hopefully it'll help =)
I buy my topcoats on ebay via America. I get the ones I want cheaply but they take 2 weeks to arrive :(
I've gotten caught out a lot by adding my topcoat wayyy too thick with beads + gems. I'm learning to do it much thinner but I still get it wrong sometimes lol
@purplespiked Lol, I'm gonna be using it more so take a deep breath and try and get used to it ;) Tho it is fun running round the house trying to scare my niece with it ^_^
@nevyard Actually I just take the nails off and stick new ones on, they're stuck down with sticky tac. Ahh, the glamorous world of making youtube videos lol
@IndigoNova1 And then you do what with the nails?? save the best one of the set for "portfolio" purposes? I know what you mean about glamorous world of YouTubing... I don't know how many makeup wipes I've gone through just putting together a look to film and how many nail wheels for design practice :) its worth it when you get even one comment that the person says "thank you. That was really helpful." or whatever along those lines.
BTW...personally I think the hand is awesome! I dont have one but I'm assuming they are easier to work with especially how wider the nails are. It looks like you have more of "canvas" space to work with. I need to get one! hehe Question: what do you do with the" ake nails after doing a nail design?
@JaeMarie2008 Aw thanks, there's a lot of negativity towards the fake hand so its nice to hear that <3
Compared to the nail on a stick they're actually way more difficult to work with. Camera angles are a nightmare and I'm always trying not to get polish on the fake skin. The hand itself is creepily small, the nails I put on it are size 5 / 6.
I also can't move it at all to get better angles when I need to.
And the nails go in a little drawer, if I ever do a collection vid I'll show them
@IndigoNova1 really, interesting! Thanks for the info.! I think that would be a great idea, to show all your nail designs in a slideshow or something! It helps everyone and the new subbies to see what other designs you did back then! take care! xoxo
I love retro designs! This is sooo pretty! I love how steady and patient you are with your artwork!! Sometimes I like to rush, hehe lol!! Thumbs up sweetie!! xo
Beautiful!! You do such great work. Have a question...why the acrylic paint? Why not work with just plain polish..is it because acrylic dries faster? I do my designs with just polish and I am curious about why a lot of nail artist use acrylic paint.
@crini1969 But the main reasons are down to filming. Its awful when you've been making a tutorial then the topcoat streaks the final look. Acylic paints never streak. I can also wipe them off when they're still wet and start again without affecting the polish underneath. Both those things are very handy when filming, and also in real life when I do nail art myself.
They're definitely worth a try, I started out with just FolkArt black and white :)
@wherdidthecolourgo They're not that much money, about 5-10 pounds which is like 8-14 dollars I think. Pretty useful too. Just look at ebay, or bornprettystore . com
i was JUST about to comment about how the hand was kinda gross and then when i scrolled down i saw your description box hahahhahahah creepy. but beautiful design nonetheless. found you yesterday and literally have watched like, every video.
@makeupbyhaleyrenee Aw thanks. I wish I had a willing hand model with perfect nails and lots of patience but I don't, so occasionally the creepy fake hand has to make an appearance xD
@IndigoNova1 i could be your hand model lol. i have long nails, and they are sooooo strong. they wont bend even if they have been soaked, and they are a pain to cut, but putting that aside, they very rarely break too.
@IndigoNova1 awww i recommend trying Avon Nail Experts Strong Results, its amazing and you really see the difference, its kinda like an oil and you apply it like nail polish and let it soak into the nail
@coralsummer1993 ooh, nice tip, thanks. I'm trying a treatment right now by China Glaze that might be working, not sure yet, but I'll keep an eye out for that the next time one of the books come thru the door :)
I love the idea that will go so well with my barbie tutorial :) great job :) thanks for sharing!!!

do the FIMOs kind of stick up from the nail? or do they curve with the nail to stay in place?

@crini1969 Thank you! I've been using them more and more in my videos.
They don't dry faster no, sometimes slower actually. Unlike polish I can mix up any colour I want, and it'll stay wet for a long time on my palette.
They're cheaper too, I used to get thru white & black polish so fast but not any more.
to be continued............
