Of course there weren't as many people on the internet as there are now, and computers in those days were considerably more cost prohibitive to a lot of people, so those that owned computers were a bit more mature and didn't feel the need to curse at others.

Damn I always see the comments about people feeling old when they watch this stuff and I tell myself I'm not old, but.... I feel old. I'm 24 and I remember going online in the '90s and being really confused about what 'LOL' was, being excited about getting email newsletters from websites, all in plain text, and oh yes, that beautiful dial-up tune that is in my head forever.
