Clipping is never good, not in any situation. If you happen to like it, fair enough. Ironically, if you got better speakers you'd notice the clipping a lot more. ;)

Metal as a style usually runs very hot, that doesn't mean it's clipping. Get some proper monitors and source some WAVs and actually listen to the music...
