@THEODORIEUS its not double capacity its actually a 6.2 liters engine, and it makes that much power... for example 8.5 liter viper needs a supercharger to make 600hp 6.2 liter corvette zr1 needs a supercharger to make that much.. its easy to put a forced induction system onto an engine to make more power... but make the same or close to same power without any type of forced induction system... and also you are forgetting one big thing.. the price is because of the interior hand stitched leather

@THEODORIEUS the two turbos on the GTR werent made by Nissan... they are just parts designed and engineered by a different company... as I've read the GTR uses two parallel turbines from IHI.. or Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.. they make ships.. aero-engines and turbochargers... nissan didn't engineer them....

@THEODORIEUS well actually thats one of the simplest ways of reducing cost of a product.. by using more components of other manufacturers. you don't have to spend money on research and engineering to build them from ground up you just cut the cost and use whats already on the market.. in the GTR they used an IHI turbo, BorgWarner gearbox and probably a lot more parts from other manufacturers.. the thing that makes the Merc special is that they try to make, invent and engineer most of their parts

@qwertyaltr Well you also have to add in the price of paying engineers to do their job. I find it impressive how Mercedes got quite a bit of power of an N/A engine and I admire Nissan's ability to make a car like the GT-R do what it does. And yes, the LFA is a cool car and all but Toyota messed up there. Why didn't they just use what they knew worked (Supra) and just worked from there. But at the same time the LFA was pretty much a concept car that was sold to get money back to make more stuff.

I've read that the SLS GT3 is already winning races which is a bit weird for me, cause for me the SLS feels more like a fast cruiser... well it is a GT car... and I agree with you there on LFA it is a great example of engineering... it just shows how every bit of car has been engineered perfectly from front to rear.. no part of it has been left out.. but then came the price.. but there's a customer for every product...

Mercedes Benz design has been disappointing as of late. Proportionism is out the door in a world that has yet been made unproportionate. A true game player will wait his time. But overall, Mercedes make great cars. After all, it's a Chick Magnet. Recommended.
