  • I don't wanna try ..

  • that pan looks hecka dirty

  • Looks fantastic!! My mouth watered as I watched. Tons of ketchup at the end, oh ya! A well done video. Thanks.

  • this sounds like a porno music

  • Man so many rude people on here. If you don't like the recipe, ketchup thickness, oil just use your own! Oh and as far as the comment "Stupid American" all I can say is ignorance is bliss! As for the oil type yes peanut oil withstands higher temps and also has a great mild flavor.

  • @KoKo122154 spell much?

  • Dude, olive oil totally works! The potatoes need to be cut thick like chips, not fries, but still it's awesome. Don't be afraid to add some basil or rosemary either, it's delicious. And why stop at potatoes? You can toss in some breaded onions too, even carrots and turnips, sweet potatoes, roast versions of fried foods rock.

  • I made it. All i did was put a bit too much oil. So it came out greasy-ish, but even that didn't fack up the taste. Salt, pepper, mustard, any oil (i used vegetable oil), 3 random potatoes, and an oven. God it was good. Well good at least for home made fries that take about an hour to make. I didn't use peprika pepper or chili powder, but it still was the bomb. Thanks for posting this vid xD.

  • why no olive oil why peanut !?!?

  • Kudos on the great tut! That is a boss oven by the way, beats the 1943 special I'm gonna use to make these tasty fries.

  • why does it say do not use olive oil? i use olive oil and it's amazing

  • I use baking paper - nothing sticks to that ;-)

  • Nice Baked chips making me hungry lol...

  • Why not simply peel the potatoes?

Why not toss in a plastic bag?

  • looks very unappealing!!! overcooked and not crispy

  • those are small potatoes :O

  • what about corn oil?

  • those looked sooooooooooo good both of my cats and dogs came to drool with me

  • looks good, why shouldn't you use oilve oil?

  • I believe peanut oil can withstand a higher temperature than olive oil

  • stupid american ... xD

  • Palm oil makes it taste much better.

  • it looks very yummy i will try it next time i love that spice mix

  • droolin ...

  • that Heinz ketchup looks thinner that most, most Heinz ketchup are thick .....anyways im gona try the sauce mix

  • Dang I suck at cooking bad I'm only 20 so I was hungy and saw my roomy make oven fries once but forgot thank u for saving my stomach!

  • Just made these fries! They were delicious!

  • man that looks like one sweet oven.

  • Nice fries!!!

  • Olive oil works fine.

  • the smoke point of olive oil is much lower than peanut oil, which is why he says not to use it.

  • Thanks. Now I know why some of my fries burnt last time I made this. I cut them too thin.

  • Delicious! Canola oil works just fine.

  • is it ok if i dont put the sauce?

  • By "sauce", do you mean the oil-spice-mustard mix? If so, consider the purpose for that mixture is twofold. The oil is there to help give the potatoes a crispy browned texture. Along with the relatively high heat (450*) it basically "fries" the surface of the potato without completely saturating it, like deep frying. Without oil, they will still cook but not as nicely. The other stuff is just for flavor which is entirely up to your preference. This flavor, another flavor, or no flavor.

  • is peanut oil the best oil to use for making fries?

  • no use olive oil, peanut oil is about as bad for you as it gets with cooking.

  • The reason to not use olive oil is that it has a low smoking point and tastes like olives. Most other oils will do better (except motor oil or 3-In-1). :)

  • @WoundedEgo

Actually, olive oil has a high smoking point.

  • @lalalaHelloHowAreYou yeah five star resturaunts use peanut oil

    how would i know?

cuz i live in los angeles

  • looks good :D

  • its tasty..eating it right now :)

  • I've tried this recipe a couple of times and it turns out fantastically. I like to let them bake a bit longer and cover them with cheese. I know it pretty much negates the whole reason for baking them in the first place, but oh well...

  • my bro ask me to watch this cuz he want me to make him baked fresh fries just like urs..lol..so im watching now

  • do you have to use peanut oil or can u use sunflower

  • Good idea!

  • Make sure your potatoes are non GMO, franken food grown. ; )

  • Ew. Why would you ruin fries with ketchup?

  • i made this and it cooks up fantastic

    not too spicy

    very tasty

  • that sauce thing you do on the potatoes looks awful to me but yeah not bad.

  • ohhh yumm..im a french frie lover and those look preety yummy...but dont you think you should soak them into water (cold water) before putting them in the oven ...juss so you can take out most of the starch....

  • omg i am so hungry i am going to make one

  • Good recipe. Does anyone suggest drying the potatoes in a towel before coating with the oil mix?

  • god im fucking hungry now lol

  • i know right?

  • well...I have been using olive oil instead of peanut oil with no problems whatsoever! However, I havent added those extra spices and ingriedients listed here yet, but will do so later tonight along with my marinated pork chops in the oven! Yum yum...

  • why not to use olive oil?

  • wow. Those looked really really really good.

  • how bout for shoe string fries? =)

  • yeh,,,,i just "book marked" this.....I gotta try this......as far as the question: to boil the potatos or not.....they might be too soft to cut into those small wedges if they were boiled.....thats my guess

  • good video step by step

  • Looks great, but wouldn't it be good to boil the cut wedges for like 2-3 minutes before coating and cooking them in the oven?

I'm not sure myself, but I hear some people do that. Any ideas, anyone?

  • lol i hope you mean "fries"

  • sounds super funny "how to bake french freinds" haha

  • Great video, but why not use olive oil?

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a smoke point of 410F or so. Around that temp the oil will begin to smoke and will also be closer to its flash point possibly catching on fire. Canola or Peanut oil has a higher smoke point than this and is recommended more to use for high temp cooking. Late response, hope that somewhat helps though.

  • cool

  • yummy
