  • "Fro" obviously does not know T3i. Why the talk then?

  • What camera did you record this video with?

  • wireless flash

  • Should i get the 60D as a first beginner DSLR ? Or go with the T3i ? Im going to do more stills than video if that can help.

  • @mrnicekevin get the nikon d5100 for stills is much better trust me.

  • @mrnicekevin t3i; save that extra 500$ for a better lens

you should still try them in a store to see how they feel tough

  • Dude shut up and take this off YouTube

Next time you record..do your homework dip shit

    your the worst ever

  • u kept repeating yourself.

  • I just bought a T3i as my first camera, And I actually bought it to do more video work than stills.

  • @doeboyfresh863 me too! i just bought it today and working on cinematic look :)

  • @doeboyfresh863 You'll be happy...

  • Dude you're awesome ._.

  • is this a good starter camera?

  • mr dum

  • also, what camera did you use to record this? please answer both questions. nobody really does cuz there are so many comments.

  • @TECHLIFE20 its recorded with the d3s. I use sony wireless.

  • what microphone do you use?

  • You could of made this video no more than 2 minutes. You kept repeating the same thing. ^-^

  • ewok photography ois my fav hobby!

  • 0:36, "I found it!!!!"

  • i have the canon t3i and i own a 32gb class 10 memory card... while im recording, it says movie stop recording automatically. what does that mean and how can i fix that?

  • @NicoleTiana this camera will stop recording when the CMOS reaches a critical temperature, do you use it in a notoriously hot enviroment?

  • @alpiel91 nope..like i noticed it stopped recording after like 11 minutes..idk i hate when it does that -_-

  • the T3i and the 600d are the same camera?

  • I just switched from canon (60D) to nikon (D7000) & i can't be happier. They're right.. NIkon is the best!

  • lol did anyone else notice the guy in the background at 5:17?

  • in US, its a $300 difference between t3i and 60d

  • unbox "sniff"

  • i agree with you, Jared, about Canon and how they're focus is on Video and then Still. I'm a Canon user myself, but i've been using a my friends Nikon D90 and i'm thinking of converting. hehe.

  • he said the same thing like 100 times " if you have a t2i i wouldnt get this " blah blah blah

  • How much is 600D???

  • @TheChristopherSin google it

  • @TheChristopherSin Around 850$ with the kit lens.

  • The T3i - I think - is a good upgrade, but it is not worth $100 more than the T2i.

If you already have a T2i, stick with it. Don't buy the T3i just for the flip-out screen.

Use a mirror, or the LiveView software to see yourself when filming. (for that is what the screen is for) (obviously)

  • It would be really cool if you had studied the camera to the point where you didn't have to ask the others questions during your review.

  • I get this for $800, the 60D would cost me like $1200 I'll buy the T3i

  • is it the same price then the 500d?

  • all talking, no actions

  • where do you work?

  • hey jared nikon d5100 vs t3i?? help me put i am a beginner!!!

  • @dafttechboy

for video purposes. t3i is better. but i think for stills. Nikon FTW!!

  • @dafttechboy t3i. d5100 video capabilities suck :(

  • what kind of wirless mic is that? and how much money is a mic like the one your wearing that works for the camera? pleasee i need to know XD thanks!

  • @tardis1996 so, let's say i want to choose between 60D and 600D, you would recommend 60D? i really like the articulating screen and i know that 60D has the feature. is the price of the two dslr different?

  • @tardis1996 what do you mean by 'the top LCD screen'? which one? i need to know please because i haven't make up my mind yet which one to buy

  • what kind of wirless mic is that? and how much money is a mic like the one your wearing that works for the camera? pleasee i need to know XD thanks!

  • Another addition that most people seem to forget is the digital zoom in video mode... The zooming it quite nice and very smooth, plus u don't really loose much quality at all!

  • Hey it have wireless flash

  • Fun review. Personally tho, I prefer the 600D over the larger 60D...and Im a big guy too. Bigger than Fro-Vader. I don't have little Ewok hands. I just prefer the smaller form factor since I travel alot. The T3i does have a deeper handgrip than the T2i and better padding. Slight ergonomic changes u forgot to mention, but no biggie. Cheerio. And may the Fro be with you. Peace out.

  • LMAO!!! Less Fro-Vader more like Homer Simpson.

Wow so are you saying that to you the D3100 is better than the 50D, 550D, 600D?

  • God I want that shirt...♪ ♫if I were a boy....♪ ♫

  • Does any one know when it's realeased in europe?

  • @Roobin22 its out

  • It's NIKON = NEEKON

  • @invisibleTricker indeed yes!

  • Actually T3i is the same prize on Amazon as the 60d right now.

  • go test it out first then make areview..

it has WAY WAT WAY faster focus than the T2i and I like the flash it's way stronger then the T2i .. as well as the +auto is very fast and accurate ..

    get the T3i it's really a REBEL

  • Fro Vader sounds like Homer Simpson.

  • This is a salesman and shop owner nightmare..

  • what do you use to shoot video with if you dont mind me asking?

  • 5:17

  • jared you legend! my ear propped up their when you mentioned in external mic input, ive been looking for a dslr for months now, just one with a mic in, articulating screen and hd video (and thats not 2,000 either - hello olypumus e5)

ive been taking shots with a canon a640 for that last 2 years so its hard to go back to using those weird flat screens now lol but at least i can upgrade, finally

  • 6:08 ... "Oh sh**, I broke it!"

  • "Hey Rob, what else did they add in the T3i other than the rotating screen?" Bahaha!!

    ... Live long and Prosper.

  • Articulated screen is very useful IMO. But I'm afraid of hardware failure in the long run. By opening, closing, turning the articulated screen over and over again is bound to make the hardware fail.

  • to be honest these new canon releases piss me off... I might just switch to Nikon on my next body upgrade

  • @waggygee

    thats a good decision

  • @waggygee i know what you mean about 550D, 600D and the 60D but there's the canon 1D mark iv, 5D mark ii and canon 7D which i have is great for its price but if you switch to nikon you lose the canon L-lens to me that is not worth it.

  • @waggygee Or just get 5D mark ii

  • @waggygee nikon = better anyways

  • Comment removed

  • Since when is Fro Vader from Canada?

  • 60d is much heavier :(

  • how his hair got into mask?

  • Digital Zoom makes me want to go with the T3i... :)

  • 7D has the same sensor, you can add a screen to any camera like to the D7000 that would show more detail when the screen has full HD!

  • 4:30 sounds like homer from simpson : D

  • 5:17 NERD DETECTED

  • I was wondering if you thought the T3i is better that the D3100, what would you recommend?

  • @specopsalphapaintbal Go For Nikon D5000..

  • @shonasam840 No.

  • @specopsalphapaintbal Fine, Your wish.. I was recommending you as you asked in ya comment.. err..

  • @shonasam840 Thanks for the recommendation, but I know someone who has it and it's a great camera I just want a different one

  • @specopsalphapaintbal Then, Go With D3100.. :)

  • Thanks people, i know now (after about a gazillion responses telling me) that the 60D DOES have a built in wireless flash trigger, don't respond anymore or i'm going to turn mad ... pretty please :)

  • I Wish We Had Camera Stores Like That In Australia :O Looks Amazing

  • @Wazup52 Australia (ok, NSW at least) does have some - they are just criminally overpriced.

Glass that costs $700 in the US, goes for about $1200 in Oz.

  • @ZagatoZee Yeah SA Is useless biggest we have is teds and that's pre small and very overpriced on same items

  • or we could wait for a D5100

  • I have both the 550 and 60d. The 60d focus is much better. It has much more button so u don't need to go to menu all the time like the 550

  • i find the live view really helpful for macro :)

  • Wat does Rebate mean?

  • i dont get it whats the difference between the 60d and 600d someone?

  • @itscaseplace 600D is an amateur range & 60D is a prosumer range..

    Canon 60D is better than 600D.. :)

  • just a response to one of the comments lol 60D has wireless flash

  • what is the specs for the 60d? Why would you recommend over the t2i&t3i?

  • Im so glad i subscribed to you lol, you are a great reviewer and we have the same taste in photography. great stuff love the videos!

  • i could see this screen being useful in photo jourilism in large groups of other

photographers you would be able to hold your camera up to get over people heads

and use the screen to see, also it protects the screen while not in use possibly we might see this on a pro body in the future ?

  • question where is this store you're in can u give me their info so i can maybe get a 60D there thanks

  • @memkills Deal with it haha, that's something that people have to accept when buying a camera, cameras are like iPhones.

Every year they get better and better, and you lose money and value. I got the 60D a couple of months ago and I'll probably want to cry with the 70D comes out. Oh well. You can always put it on Cragslist if you're really desperate.

  • Canon is really running out of ideas with their SLRs.

  • Great Review! I'm going to buy the T3i in a couple weeks. This is going to be great. Also can anyone tell me what wireless clip-on mic Jared used? I'd like to pick one of those up too. Thanks!

  • great vid, made me reconsider buying a 60d over a t3i

  • why exactly dont you like using the live view for stills?

  • If i am an experienced amateur and really into photography do you reccomend that i just stick with the T1i and get a good lens or should i spend a little more and get the T2i/T3i? Are there really any more mind blowing features or will I be fine?

  • @cadazar123 Stick with the T1i and buy a really good lens. A great camera with a great lens. A successor with a mediocre lens? eh, not so much.

  • The screen is nice, but not worth getting a new camera over; my T2i is good, and I want good glass, not good features.

  • I like rotating screes!

  • Fro Vader talks awfully like Homer Simpson

  • My dream last night was that I go into a shop like this and I am taking whatever I want...when i woke up early in the morning I thought FML !

  • Jared, after months of watchign your videos Im really starting to think that fro vadar is really you...

  • Please stop saying the Canon-Rebel-names as T3i and T2i, use the international names as 600D and 550D instead. Rebel-names are just mixing it all up for us Non-US viewers.

Thank you for a great review Jared! Keep up the Good work, and do more Canon-dedicated videos! Maybe do some videos where you compare Canon-lenses with the Nikon lenses.

Looking forward to your next clip!

    Cheers from Sweden!

  • @NEOLiNES I agree! Stop the T2i, T3i bull$h1t! And by the way, the Kiss x5 is far better than the x4 ;)

  • articulated screen is great for stolen shots or shots in odd positions... and maybe good for avoiding sun glare on the screen

  • want want want all the lenses in that store.

  • Opps,typo!60D*

  • Agree with Jared! If I had to choose between the 60D and 600D,I'll totally go with the 70D!

  • i have a t2i and i think ill upgrade to the 60D instead

  • i just freakkin got the T2i.. 2 months later the T3i comes out :(

  • @memkills thats what Canon usually does. I´ve seen that since the Elan 35mm film EOS came out. Canon is so eager to compete in the market that in my opinion it screws his own customers often.

  • how do you shoot your videos and peole dont stare at you lol

  • I got a t2i like in Jan And when I heard about this coming out I was like crap I should 've waited. But then I remembered I had an old video camera that its screen rotates too. It sadly broked cause of the screen. I am not a fan of rotating screens anymore. They can break. I'd rather have it in place without rotating. Besides isnt that for video? I'm guessing canon is really pushing video on their dslrs. I guess its a nice feature. Still I like my LCD screens Static and in place.

  • When i was with Olympus (now nik) the articulating screen came in handy for me when doing macro shots. It helped me not get down on my knees and into the mud as much. Other than that, it comes handy with video and or candid over head shots. I guess it cant hurt to have it.

  • @antovegaphoto That may be.. but Canon are focussing TOO MUCH on video.

It seems as though they don't care about photography anymore, because all they are doing is using the same sensors from different cameras, and adding more features which will only be useful for video, such as the articulating screen.

Video is a good idea, but it's getting ridiculous with canon bringing out a new camera which is exactly the same as the old one, because they've focussed more on video, with the screen.

  • The rotating screen is the one reason i would buy it over the t2i

  • 550d with flip screen. Keeping my 500d...

  • 60D>600D>550D

  • I heard that there was a 3x digital zoom for video, basicly it uses the more center pixels on the frame and scales less. A good little buy? Its a thousand fucking dollars lol

  • I heard that there was a 3x digital zoom for video, basicly it uses the more center pixels on the frame and scales less

  • well.. its not the same price: german amazon:

    500D - 504€

    550D - 579€

    600D - 750€

the 600d isnt worth the 200€ more than the 550D

  • Always wondered does he sell the one's you unbox as second hand? Or do you put them back into the box so the customer doesnt know?

  • Why do you sniff new stuff?

  • @momoz88 a fro has to do, what a fro has to do

  • Fro Vader sounds suspiciously like Warren the Ape.

  • Canon's lost it.

I've always loved Canon, but my love is dying.. because of video.

The 60D was an awful "upgrade" to the 50D, the 600D is an awful "upgrade" to the 550D, because they have done absolutely nothing.

They are focussing too much on video, and not on stills.

The 1Ds mk iii needs a major upgrade, as does the 5D mk ii as they are getting old now, and Nikon are ahead with bodies.

I really hope Canon don't carry on with this "video is the way to go" malarky and focus more on photography!

  • @TheNeonWorm Professionals really don't care for new bodies. When they are spending thousands on each body they don't upgrade every time a new body comes out. Not to mention better glass is always more important.

I agree that the upgrades weren't the best, but they are still very good. I don't see what everyone is getting so upset. Their stills are still very good and has been progressing so fast that it might just be hitting a wall. Video is new and loads of innovation is occurring. Calm!

  • damn it! i just got the t2i

. oh well. i guess not much changed on it. i like the swivel lcd though.

  • @seven7years id rather have a t2i. i have a d5000 and hate the swivel. i would like the wireless flash trigger though

  • @skatebaker321 yeah i figured id be unlucky with that swivel and break it. im super clumsy. lol I use it mostly for video so that wireless flash trigger doesn't really need use for me, right?

  • @seven7years no it doesnt. its for flashes during pictures.

  • is the T2I Good for starting

    photography and video

or what do you recommend for me ?

  • @mmmwwrr T3i is EXACTLY the same as the T2i, except it has a built in wireless flash trigger for some flashes, and an stupid articulating (rotating) screen.

Go for the T2i if you want something a little cheaper and exactly the same.

  • You're so sexy with that hat.

  • @DUI405 60D has also the wireless flash just like the 7D has.

  • actually the 600D (T3i) has built in wirelles flash trigger, which the 550D (T2i) and i think the 60D don't have ...

  • @DUI405 oh yes i forgot about that thats a big deal!!!!

  • @JaredPolin The guy from Cheesycam did a video and showcases a 3X-10X zoom, which apparently with quality glass is supposed to be really nice.

  • @DUI405 No 60D and 7D(which was the first canon with Wireless flash triggering system)also have it

  • @JaredPolin 60D has a integrated Speedlite-transmitter aswell ;-)

  • @JaredPolin the 60D does have wireless flash control...

  • @DUI405 doesn't 60D have that.. wireless flash trigger

  • @DUI405 60D has wireless flash

  • @DUI405

    60D does have.

  • @DUI405 60d haz it.

  • @DUI405 The 60D does have the wireless TTL built in. You are right in saying the T2i does not. Rick

  • @DUI405 60D has wireless flash trigger capabilities.

  • @DUI405 i own 60D and it has build in wireless flash trigger

  • @DUI405 And digital zoom also, 60D has none. :)

  • @DUI405 60D does have wireless flash trigger. 600D is simplified 60D.

  • @DUI405 60D actually has the same wireless flash triggering system as the new 600D(T3i). Other update that the T3i got is the manual control over audio recording(same as the 60D). 60D still has better focusing sensor, faster continuous shooting speed, bigger RAW buffer and better handling. So still worth the 150-200 price difference. If you need those.

  • @DUI405 60d also got that

  • @DUI405 60D has the wireless flash trigger

  • @DUI405

    lol, 60d got it!

  • @Pixelements lol, i know ... you're the 14th person that tells me that :) next time, check the comments, press Ctrl+f and search for the username of the comment to which you wan't to reply ...

  • j how about a proper test and review of the d7000 with samples? or do you have that coming?

  • @TheScaryfluff its almost done.

  • The dude doing the 'live long and prosper' sign at 5:16 !!!

  • I originally bought the T2i for video. I ended up taking a lot more pictures with it then i thought. Im glad canon packed so much camera at the price point
