It would have been wise to compare the new data with the old data, if there is a difference then update the div, people often send links on chatboxes to people and if they are in the middle of selecting it then it would deselect as the div data had been updated and it's just better all round, good tutorial though.
how can we display the shouts in reverse order? I tried using ASC instead of DESC in the mysql query, however, it only showed the first 20 records entered into the database.
I would like to show the last 20 records of the database with the newest record displayed on the bottom of page. Help?

If you use this on a webhost with Ddos protection, the ajax refreshing will trigger the Ddos protection and block your ip from the website.
