  • damn !! he Busted out the FLYING W !!!

  • 6:34 ahahahahahahaha !!!!!!

  • karl always seems stoned in interviews

  • @The19nor no to me he seems very shy like he doesn't even think he is good. he is great its jsut he seems really unsure of himself

  • i'll bet that dallas is the only person who can really follow on what karl is doing ... same thing goes for karl !!!

  • holy shit motherfuckers this is epic

  • wat the fuck is this ??r they human or machine?? fuck...truly great ..Nile is motherfucker man..i love the NILE. its only 2 weeks,i star listening NILE...now i m cursing myself ,why i took so long to get into NILE.i m speechless for NILE.LONG live u METAL GOD.

  • Black Seeds Of Vengeance main riff is KILLER

    NILE RULES

  • @CarnalFearAZ i agree with you these guys sound like horse crap i can play drop a stuff that sounds better then this crap.

  • ive been trying to get this tone but it never quite sounds right. gain up. distortion, kinda. Too much distortion it just goes wrong. higher gauge strings helped a lot but still not there...

  • @xhalph0n every song ive ever heard is low gutterals that are barely heard in the mix along with overly loud drums and a guitar tone that borders on scratchy horseshit. And on top of that they bot play so sloppy that you cant hear any articulation in the playing. and all of Karl's leads sound either outta key or tune

  • @CarnalFearAZ If you're referring to their older albums, they wanted it to sound soupy. And they're not the only death metal band that does that...as for their newer albums, I don't think you could ask for better recording quality or technical prowess than Those Whom the Gods Detest.

  • this is just two old men teaching you to make noise in the key of Drop-A brown note. This has no musical value and this band is awful

  • @CarnalFearAZ And you are musically retarded, so get out :)

  • This is not a guitar lesson...

  • I hate there tone so much.

  • karl is so shitface and its hilarious

  • @ESPSHREDDER1293 But he is a fucking good guitarist, better than you never shall be. SO shut the fuck up

  • I want the ed roman extanda vee karl plays too bad ed roman is a crook of custom builder

  • FUCK ME- the chord at 7:28 sound like the chime thingy on the album even though its not actually there!!!... thats FUCKING TRIPPY..

  • i really dont know why you guys keep telling that this are great guitar players... i respect the taste of people about music... but seriously you cant really hear what are they playing, just noise and a really raw distortion...

  • nile rules, but I wish they had better guitar tone. tons of gain is pretty brutal, but they have too much...its muddies up the note articulation.

  • anyone knows what picks they use?, not pick ups, picks :)

  • "humm.. I'm karl and I play guitar" lol! :D

  • this is fuckin garbage

  • @pantokrator1988 duh, you have to hear the whole songs with drums and voice and some wicked oriental instruments to be impressed, of course this sucks, it's for educational purposes ;)

  • this is to unbeliecably bad. Their riffing is beyond terrible. The tone of these guitars is garbage

  • @Killer9299 that's attributed to the fact that they tune in drop a. this is unbelievably amazing.

  • @wolfboii999 no cuz people like tosin abasi play in drop e and are 100000000 times cleaner they are just plain sloppy

  • @Killer9299 he uses 7 and 8 string guitars

  • @wolfboii999 yeah but an 8 string tuned down to drop e, and people like john petrucci play tuned down to b standard too it's not the tuning plenty of people tune down they are just sloppy

  • @Killer9299 drop e on an 8 string is like tuning to drop e flat on a six string. you would actually have to raise the pitch of all the strings except for the last one. they're not sloppy, it's just that they over-distort and that doesn't mix well with their drop a tuning.

  • this is so unbelievably good. Their riffing is beyond awesome. The time signature freedom of Nile is also a beauty.

  • this is so unbelievably good. Their riffing is beyond awesome.

  • what is song in the start?

  • @DronGuitarFun "masturbating the war god" off Black Seeds of Vengeance

  • lol....poor karl, seems a little camera shy cant even get his words right, but he slays the guitar :)

  • this sounds really bad dude

  • That flying V is beasty

  • Barra Edinazzu...mattagazzu!!!

  • its nice to see Karl so happy in his element, talking about his music, and his band. It reminds me of Chris Adler, his face always lights up when he talks about LOG, and just metal music in general. VERY COOL VID!

  • wow the riff at 1:14 sounds much better slow than fast I think. It would be cool to here a slower more sludgy song by Nile, but then again these guys are programmed to play fast. I love Nile!

  • @blackwaterapprentice

4th Arra of Dagon or Wrought. Slow and Sludgy! :D

  • @blacklegionairsoft1 Thank you sir!

  • @blackwaterapprentice Their earlier albums have more slow stuff compared to their recent ones. Some songs that come to mind: Stones of Sorrow, The Black Flame, Sarcophagus..

  • @blackwaterapprentice i know this is a little late. but try Eat of the Dead by Nile... it's about as slow as you'd ever want to be.

  • anyone know how Karl tunes his guitars, and his string gauge?

  • hehehehee I laugh at 1:23 when he says "and fast : "

    awesome!!!

I play drums, but I love Nile, and I want to learn to play guitar like this guys

  • These guys, no matter how talented they may or may not be, sound like complete shit. Everything they're playing sounds like pitchless amp noise. Awful.

  • god damn I love their guitar sound and especially their way of playing chords

  • This is just watching them play, it doesn't teach you shit.

  • yeah, but it`s not their fault, it`s uploader`s fault

  • @MrSatanochio Yeah. You're either an idiot, or a troll. If it's the former, answer me this - how exactly did i magically turn their useful advice and step-by-step explanations into just playing? I haven't edited anything except piecing all the videos together and adding some titles & music, but if you had half a brain cell and actually checked Metalkult where the original videos are from you'd already know that. In case you're just a troll - go get impaled by Karl's other guitar or something..

  • @CursedToExist ok, and I was talking about the title. couldn`t you change it ? ypu`re the UPLOADER.that`s all.why are you so angry with me, jeez ! it sounds like I did something. and the dude who said what you were replying at is not me. check the list, I was talking about something else. and I`m not a troll. I love Nile, pardon me for saying the title is wrong. wow !

  • @MrSatanochio Well, ok, the fact that you are reasoning with me instead of insulting me shows that i'm wrong about the half-a-brain-cell-remark. I got angry simply because YouTube is becoming a cespool of bullshit more and more every day, housing all kinds of stupid people. Not your fault, but let me say that i decided not to change the title because that's the way it's at Metalkult and i wanted people to be able to find it and watch it more comfortably here, it was for the sake of searches

  • These guys really need to start using 7 strings...or tune up a bit. Make the damn tone a bit tighter

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of amps they are using?

  • karl is using a marshall dsl 100 head

dallas is using a peavey rockmaster preamp with a marshall EL34 100/100 power amp

    all cabinets are marshall 4x12

for fx I have no idea I just know that karl has a lexicon controlled by a roland gp8 midi foot controller.. there he programs delay reverb chorus and diferent modulation kind of sounds!

look for Nile on Maximun Metal DVD Vol.126 on youtube in that video there´s a look of dallas pedalboard.

    Greetings

  • @erniesux Dude, you are awesome! Thanks for the info. Time to save my money and try to get that stuff. I've always wanted that kind of tone from the amp I want to use. I have a pretty good guitar. It's an Ibanez Xiphos tuned to C flat :D

  • hahaha thanks man! I´m a gear junkie that´s it =)

I have a modded peavey bravo 112 1x12 combo all tube! the guy who sold it to me replaced the stock speaker with a celestion g12t100. My guitar is an LD F 250 tuned to Drop D Right now Im just using 2 pedals: a boss od3 overdrive and a danelectro dan echo... I also want to get one of those BBE pedals the sonic stomp! among other things hehehe

    Cheers man!!

  • LTD*

  • haha. 00:14. 'uh yeah im Karl. I do guitar and vocals (mumbles towards the end)' lol. that's funny. both killer gutarists and vocalists.

  • no matter how hard they try, they just cannot play something that doesnt sound heavy as fuck

  • have u heard sanders' solo albums?

  • hey guys where can i find a video of him playin the 12 string

  • its an 11 string =P

  • thanks bro

  • I don't really understand what happend I mean I think it was cool

  • these guys are real musicians... I think the coolest thing in this interview is when they talked about "pusling on the 8", and I totally agree! That is why even though they are playing REALLY fast, it is also REALLY slow.

  • nile is not black metal.

  • That'S not Black Metal. It's Death MEtal... Technical and brutal... Nile Rules

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Uh, yeah...This is why I never really check up on my comments or replies.

You make one mistake and you suddenly get raped up the ass, or burned alive at the stake for it. There should be about 50 angry villagers all bearing torches on their way to my home by now.

I forget that the near endless sub-genres of metal are so over categorized and contrived by sound texture that's it's to the point of rivaling the Messier Astronomical Catalog in density.

But yeah, Nile is good *DM.* Got it.

  • ook

  • uuarrrGGHHHHHH!!

    *swallows a cat whole*

  • i just cant get over Karl's guitar.

  • At 6:52, Karl plays the wrong riff :D

But those guys are seriously aswesome

  • seriously hate this lol sure there great at what its meant to be. just think its utter mudd and there solos are sloppy sounding =/

  • It's just how Death Metal sounds, once you understand it properly, it's easier to understand what they're playing.

  • cusom neck and machine heads can do anything on a 6 banger: A G F E... go until the stringers actually bang together, then you got no choice but to do at least a 7string neck width.

  • if you happen to want lower than a whole octave below standard. hahaha fun stuff if you really screw around.

  • 6:35

  • Drop A.... that's fucking crazy.

    Awesome though.

  • I'm glad they only play 6 strings, makes it easier for me to learn =) lol

  • You are wrong, They tune it down to Drop A.

  • not b, drop A: A E A D F# B

its pretty well the "drop D" form of B Standard.

and to metalhead7517: playing a seven changes a lot of the scale patterns and just adds confusion.

  • Not really, you can just lengthen the scales on B if you want to.

  • Kind of strange that they wouldn't just play 7 strings then...

  • They've said they don't play 7 strings because they just don't like the feel.

  • I thought they played 7 strings? Am I mistaken?

  • no they play 6 strings tuned to drop a... i wish they would play seven strings

  • @mongobongoman why use 7 when you're not gonna use the high E string?... with 6 is enough to sound as brutal as they get, same thing with Cannibal Corpse, Pat uses a 7 but just to play the old stuff, with the regular A# stuff they use 6 and is more than enough.

  • @PipebagCFH

no i mean itd be longer scale length and sound better, i can hardly hear what theyr playing becuse their strings are so floppy, theyr a wicked wicked wicked band i just wish they had more clarity like cannibal corpse do :D

  • no man the play 6 strings... but they tune in drop A

  • the thing about most play who play in drop a on seven string they tune to AEADGBE and on six AEADF#B, but i suppose u could just do AEADF#BE.

  • Élőben szeretem őket nézni! Abszolút kedvenc!

  • lol whats really funny is that ever since i started listening to Nile, for some inexplicable reason i want to play Gears of War 2 while listening to them, i cant do just one, i have to do both! NILE RULES!!!

  • Best comment ever dude.

  • those guys seem like super pals

  • nile fucking rules.

But the song would sound better if played on a ahuja guitar, just my personal advice. mere paas maa hain,

mere paas gibtale electrical guitar hai,

    tere paas kya hain.....?

  • the way they pulse every 8 note gives a great sound

  • back in 9th grade, i had a friend who would always show me this band (his name is niles, which gives him even more of a reason to liek this band) but yeah. i didnt understand it. it was just weird.

4 years later, now that i have an understanding on death metal, this is simply insane.

  • i was ingnorant too when i first listen to these guys....i didnt quite understand them. until i actually sat down and listened to Sacrifice Unto Sebek. I lost my fucking mind. these guys are the real deal, I cant play death metal or write it with it being in B standard with the Drop A. its just crazy.

  • good thing I liked them in 9th grade. Listening to "cast down the heretic" over and over again made it much easier to survive.

  • Yeah i think we can all agree that Karl was not in the realm of sober when this was recorded.

  • karl has one of the most badass guitars ever made

  • yeah i just do not see where he would use the 12 string part

  • Again - he uses it all over Ithyphallic. Just for an example - the very first song on the album ..

  • I believe its an eleven string fretless

  • @catstudent1 its 11 string fret-less

  • you mean "retarded"?

  • its in 'A' tuning

  • agreed

  • i luv how tht dean looks in dallas' hands

  • Awesome you to poste this! listen to how stoned Karl sounds

  • verrrrry verrrrrry nice

  • Seymour duncan invaders sound awful

  • i preffer ths eymour duncan metal blackouts, they seem to give a bit more heavier tone and sustain i think.

  • Good choice of intro song for this video! Nile rule, and so these guitar lessons.

  • Hey, hope you enjoy :)

  • Thanks man for posting \m/
