  • oooh ja dus zo doe je dat :P

  • Dude, don't use nexus. It has good sounds, but in the long run it isn't worth the money. You can't change the sounds, you can't mix them up or anything. Learn to make your own sounds with synths like Sylenth, Z3ta, or maybe even an Access Virus-TI, because that's where you get your moneys worth. Nexus was a TOTAL waste of money, imo.

  • @vDEATHxSTROKEv Who said i paid for Nexus ? You are completely right though :) I normally use it for small additions to my music. But come one, you cannot take this video seriously can you ? :)

  • 6:44 to hear the track. but honestly this is not cheesy at all, i think its quite good,

  • is it just me or is it blurryish ? great tutorial just curious about the whole 240p ?

  • Where the heck did you get such great samples?

  • @TheYouSphere - Search for Vengeance sounds :)

  • thats the fact why oldskool died.

  • I use Renoise AND Logic Studio.

    Problems? :D

  • @DaNorthernLight ok, im 13. i barely got anything you said lol but i checked ur channel out and its awesome I love ur songs

  • @DaNorthernLight ok, im 13. I barley got anything u said there lol

  • @DaNorthernLight They're easier to use, so technically, they don't suck.

  • @TheTrancemaster90 I have been in the production scene for about 15 years now, and i pretty damn know what trance is. That's why this video is called "cheesy".

  • @kaosbeats watch out buddy hes the trancemaster

  • @kaosbeats So would Nightcore be considered this type of genre?

  • @TheTrancemaster90 Yeah, what the fuck kaosbeats? I don't like the title either. Should've simply named it "how to make trance"; "cheesy trance" is just redundant.

  • @TheTrancemaster90 Damn man, do you have some fucking ideas of what cheesy is? This is ignorance, learn to troll

  • /watch?v=_0ORGiyIyOU&feature=feedlik armin van buuren full focur remix + flp fl studio

  • You sound dutch.

  • @RoboticusMusic Hahaha, you are not the only one who noticed that, he is dutch btw :p *i noticed it too*

  • @BatspindaVL He sounds like hydlide's brother.

  • @BatspindaVL Sounds Norwegian to me :P

  • where did you get these samples?

  • never saw this program before o.O

  • @kaosbeats i know tht but im saying it look very very beginnerishh:/ u should try logic it is a very good program and took me about 5-6 months to learn most of its features

  • @mw2king89 You're seriously trying to brag that it took you a long time to learn how to use it? That's incredibly stupid. Just because it's harder to use, it doesn't make it better. It's harder to swim across the ocean than to take a boat, but that doesn't mean that swimming across the ocean the better way.

  • @mw2king89 I don't think you understand the purpose of Renoise. It is a continuation of a the "tracker" paradigm that began in the late 80s. Audio trackers were used to make demo-scene music. The best way to think of it is as an experiment or alternate history scenario: what would happen if the piano-roll never took off in the mid to late 90s as the predominant metaphor for sequencing music on the computer?

  • @MultiHappypants (sorry, ran out of character count). Logic is a much more general-purpose utility, and is most definitely a superior choice for multi-track recording. As for sequencing, I think both the piano roll and tracker interface have their own strengths and weaknesses. With rewire and midi routing though, who cares? You are free to experiment with your own work-flow and select the tool for the job that works best.

I think too many people are in this "producer" mindset nowdays.

  • @mw2king89 It doesn't matter what program you use. Your creativity is the limit, not the program.

  • @mw2king89 because everyone has or even wants an apple?

Besides, if you wanna see what you can do with renoise, dont use this "how to" as your source.

  • @mw2king89 ha you have no idea how good renoise is. why limit yourself to just one program? i use renoise, reason, ableton, audacity, garageband.

  • @mw2king89 Generally a tracker interface is WAY more perplexing to beginners than a piano roll ;)

  • this shit is Wack! :|

  • In Soviet Russia Renoise Plays you!

  • hey nice vid and i like the song u created also can you please tell me where u got the samples from thanks =]

  • ik hoor het binnen 1 seconde als het eigenlijk een nederlander is die aan het woord is!

  • cheesy indeed!

  • bla blah blah bla =D

  • Is it bad that I like how cheesy this is? Ha, nice tutorial.

  • Nice videoo. You have Ville Valos voice btw, when you speak. xD Just thought I'd mention that. But that's skills.

  • Nice!

  • xD fun this is.

  • i love the synth and melody

  • I'd like to see a tutorial on how NOT to make cheesy trance with Renoise and other trackers.

  • omg pitchbass :o

  • trackers are programs used by pretencious guys who need to feel special using a program that makes complicated things that are easy to do on others XD

  • lol, you sounds like Hydlide24 :P

  • Nice tutorial, but it shows the weakness of renoise as well if you see how long you're busy with programming the chords...

  • @KnetterBomb

i didn't remember the chords that well, but you are right, it's a bit timeconsuming sometimes.

you can put the "live record" function on though. that will make it faster.

  • @KnetterBomb Not true, depends how you use renoise

  • @KnetterBomb You can hold the left-shift while entering notes to enter chords. It really is very easy

  • @KnetterBomb It's much easier when you know how to use the program. :) But indeed that is a bit of caveat, altho it's never that easy when usin computer HIDs only, iow. no MIDI gear.

  • 100% cheese

  • 5000% cheese :P woooo

  • Awesome!

  • Nothing is wrong with it. As long as you don't use generic "already heard it somewhere" patches... you're good. It's a good and useful library.

  • Do these samples have anything to do with "Bass Brother"? You bastard, that was years ago :)

  • Renoise is such an easy program to use.. people just don't take the time to learn it

  • your name haha what? you have a fun name kaos hahahha

  • AND this is why this kind of music sucks! XD

    Good video tho!

  • Renoise looks like a huge pain in the ass to use. It looks like a beefier, even more complicated version of LSDj, which confused the hell out of me. I'm sure it's a nice program once you figure out how to use it, but I can barely follow what he's doing in this video.

  • that's because you fruityloop users have simple minds :p

  • Where did I say I use FL Studio? I don't even have a DAW. I've used and know my way around FL Studio (downloaded the demo) decently, as well as Live LE. I'm just more saying that most tutorial videos like assume you know a program inside and out and have the same plugins. I more just watched it for the great accent and nice (albeit cheesy) trance song.

  • i know i was only messin, any DAW is good if the user knows their shit really. happy xmas

  • Same to you. You use renoise?

  • @vegunited06 so renoise is about the intellectual superiority? fl has a lot of potential with a simple interface you just arent creative enough apparently

  • @omghai2u jeeze! calm down bro, I was only jokin around hence the :p thing. you can make good music on any DAW, even music 2000 for the playstation!

  • @vegunited06 i was only responding with an equal amount of asshole!

  • @vegunited06 what makes u think fruity loops its a worst program the easy way u can learn to use that program doesnt mean its a piece of shit i can tell u that some of the biggest djs changes to another program and guess waht getting better filters thats all an unfurnaly fl does not have regularly the producers changes to logic pro cuz its variavility of filters and loops !! bye the fucking way fagggggggggggg !!

  • @vegunited06 BLASPHEMYYYYY!!!!!!

  • @TheClayPidgeon just I joke don't take it at heart :p I know of a few fruityloop users who know it probably better than people who developed it(!) and make serious shit on it!! :) all depends on the person using it, not the tool - however there are quite alot of teens making prety bad dubstep at the moment jaja.

  • Awesome !

  • which scale are you using?

  • Haha, Hollander. Je kunt ook meteen horen dat je 'n Nederlander bent. Maar goed, je Engels is erg goed en verstaanbaar, chapeau! Goede tutorial, mooi om te zien dat er mensen zijn die er ook echt iets aan hebben gehad. Nice work!

  • I was laughing my ASS off the entire time ahah!

Dude Wow. 5 Stars. You are amazing.

  • Why ? Pills ? lol ;)

  • superb man!!

  • so simple and quick to score!!!

  • have you made that melody or is it from another song?

  • i made it myself

  • kaos, i love your commentary, and im learning a lot about renoise from your video. please make some more tutorials :D

  • i got another dumb question where can i get other samples from

  • internet :)

  • how do you do the off comand

  • Caps lock

  • Kaos, in 2007, I learned how to use Renoise with this video. Now, I'm signed with many labels and I'm starting to do some lives... THANK YOU!

  • Wow, that sounds pretty serious, well done man.

It's nice to see that people are actually learning from this "joke of mine"

  • @marcrem

Sorry, but this can't be serious - but anyway - happy new year ;)

  • @kinupsi

what can't be serious? I signed to trouble and bass, royal fetish, so french recs, dim mak, and more...

What's not serious in the fact that I'm doing my music with renoise and that I really am making a living out of it?

I'm not doing trance, but this tutorial is the one that helped me a lot when I started years ago :)

  • coool

  • at 1:36 it's starting to sound like Cold Planet (afterwhite dark remix)

  • Hell yea.. wow

  • your name is kaos?

  • yes.

  • It's tracker, a software to make music : you select a sample and put some notes on a track. You can apply effects on it (arpegio, vibrato, etc..), and can have has many trackas and samples as you want. One can do whatever one wants, with a tracker.

Renoise also has a midi interface, so you can play on a real instrument directly and Renoise will put the notes in the tracks automatically. And there are much more features.

I bought it for my Mac and it's a pleasure to make music with it.

  • Nice video dude!

Have you ever tried MadTracker 2? I cannot understand what Renoise gives more than that free program. They look like to be the same thing, and the features too are very similar (on MadTracker 2: ASIO, VST, even ReWire!).

  • Save to wav?

  • Maybe. There's a menu entry for that, but I don't know why, it does never work... perhaps it's still under development or I haven't set needed options. Anyway, I'm not a producer, so this fact doesn't bug me :-) I prefer listening to tracks, and mix them! :D

  • omg, he's a genial

  • u fucking fail nexus simple gives u the sounds to be "creative" as for as music nexus wont create your song ect ect nexus will simply enable your songs to sound better yer you could fuck around with generic synths to make the sound u want OR u could get nexus with preset sounds it DOES not make a song any easyer to make its just a tool like any other plug in :)

    :S

  • what is wrong with nexus?

  • Tired lifeless squelchy bases. Same old leads over and over. poor quality delay and reverb.

still, the more people making music. the more likley we are to find the next big producer.

  • it was all going so well, untill he said the "N" word!

  • Comment removed

  • how many macs have you seen with a windows start menu?

  • you got to be kidding....

  • thats sum nice shit there, its hard to learn how to use,i must be slow....hehe

  • Cheesy trance ? Thats Handsup ....

A lil bit own creativity would be cool, but no, sample here, sample there ....

    Where is the creativity ?

  • thats the point of the video though =P

i only like renoise for some 3 second breakcore and chiptune.

    not trancey really

  • Mooi man

    Renoise is echt relaxt

    bla bla bla etc :)

Maak je nog steeds muziek met renoise ?

  • Very nice!

  • Awesome!

  • how did you film your desktop, while jamming a track in renoise ? which programm did you use ?

  • i used camtasia for this one.

  • You mean every 16 bars?

What kick and bass do you recommend for trance?

  • Kick from the HD1 or VEC2 library.

And the bass from the reFX Nexus VSTi

  • i learnt tht i'm shit with renoise. I wanna make chiptune with it but it's toooooooo hard

    HELP PLEASE!!!!

  • You could check out the vst "Syntendo"

there are some nice instruments for your chiptune =)

  • kl cheers

  • Can you post this for download somewhere? I'd love to add this to my "cheesy" trance collection.

  • CHEESY!!!

  • hehe, indeed i am, sorry for the shitty accent :)

  • don't worry, i have the same accents and it's not shitty.. just lizen to teh germans, much worse :P

  • i love how your disdain of trance comes through.. yes, nice and shitty. `;)

  • he is the creater of this i think he gets to call it what ever genre he wants it.

and trance is slow and fast.

  • oh lol

  • why cheesy?

  • he's not a trance fan he mainly makes r&b and hip hop beats

  • @Spac3Trance I'm sure he's making a point to the cheesy cliches in a lot of (commercial dance) music. How much they sound the same.

This track has it all: the sounds, progressions, the drops.. it only misses some typical vocals by some hot female singer.

Copy the style everyone does, and many people will acknowledge it.

  • Renoise is cool! I have done music 3 years with it. Just find my track "The Federation Of Light" by Google -> Wicked Master. :)

  • Where did you get your instruments?

  • how do you get all the synths? which ones are they?

  • I used ReFX Nexus for this one. Just google it, and it will lead you to their website.

  • love it :D

  • You're a natural, great video!

  • what the name is this program ?

  • Its the heading of the video..

    If u can't read it, it's Renoise

  • OMG this is f'ing hilarious

  • Hahahahaha!!! "This sounds like shit!" Hahhahahahhahah!!!

U rule man, nice manipulating over there!

    5*

  • send me the song please!

And i need help with Renoise

  • ohh shit, thats pro

  • what effect did you put on the mnelody at 3:00 to make the sound change like that?

    cheers

  • You mean the delay? thats just a simple click on your mouse and change the time and length from the delay itself.

  • Yeah, I think it was a delay. I realised now that you switched which channel the cursor was in when you were playing it using the keyboard, and that's why the sound changed :)

  • em... I sorta changed my opinion on this, before I was astounded, now Im not, its easy really, you need much more time for a real song. What do the big DJ's use?

  • DJ's dont make music. They play tracks at parties.

Producers make music, and some producers are DJ's :)

    To answer your question:

Producers are using the program they want.

I make semi-pro hiphop music with Renoise, and i know a few guys who actually make money using Renoise as their main musicprogram.

But the most leading programs on the market are : Cubase,Reason,Logic. Renoise is a pro-music program, but not many people are using it :)

  • Yeah well you saved 1 hour on that because you used refx noobus :P

  • Awesome!

  • *messes up on making lead*

    "that sounds like SHIT."

    lol

  • I sort of understand why people use trackers for electronic music because most of it comes down to small loops and variations and you can quickly get a track together once you have created these but for laying down melodies/notes surely sequencers are better?

I've been using Logic/Cubase for 8 years now and I cant make music on a tracker for shit. I've tried. I can make better music on my iphone than on a tracker thats how badly I cant use it.

  • Same, I'm a Cubase user myself. However I dabble in electronica as well as rock etc. I find trackers a bit weird. I could never structure a whole song in there cause of the way i work. However i'd like to use this for drum loops occasionally.

If i was writing cheesy trance like this I guess i might use it.

  • I did five-ish years on trackers, and switched to reason and have another five-ish years under my belt on that. trackers are less accessible, and more manual. With much more accessibility, you make better tracks, but there is one benefit to trackers - at least with the ones i was using i could really only use found samples, so never using built in preset kits i always sounded original and had vast variation.

  • This guy is definitely Dutch.

  • ahahah that's what i thought

  • yeh, sure! if I copy paste some lyrics here... :/

  • "...ugh, that sounds like shit..."

    lol

  • lol cheesy trance.

  • For all the guys who wanna know what samples i used : Try to look for VEC2 and HD1 samplelibraries. Nexus is a VSTi from ReFX. You should get it on the net somewhere, or just buy it :)

  • how do u get samples and stuff?

  • This is really a good song, like you could be in some Trance collection... Art Of Trance or somethin'

  • hey mate, where can i get the nexus vst?

    and is it free?

  • very nice

  • Um buddy thts not cheese trance I am a producer here in the states and with the right melodies,Tht is good trance.

  • more! we want more videos

Besides sounds from nexus, where do you recommend me to find sample sounds?

  • this is a pretty good song =)

  • dammm your good u shoul trie to put ur songs in clubs and shit lke that make some money
