  • WHY DOES THE BBC CHANNEL HAVE COMMERCIALS

  • never ever ever lose your geordie accent!!

  • Sting is a fab song writer,i think Andy summers was jealous of his talent, never showed gratitude, respect for stings song writing skills which probably angered sting.imo.

  • anyone else notice how much he blinks?? LOL

  • How WOULD people feel if they were in a relationship with a prozzy?

  • GEORDIE. ftw.

  • Baang :D

  • he seems like such a sweet and funny guy!

  • Why don't he have a Geordie accent? :(

  • @samouha10 Coz he was brought up properly?

  • @TheEditingShop Hahaha i'm not sure how people who speak with a Geordie accent will take that xD

    I like Geordie accent though.

  • @TheEditingShop sting doesn't have a geordie accent because he hasn't lived in newcastle for most of his life, he's lived in america. It has nothing to do with being brought up properly, that is a ridiculous thing to say.

  • @samouha10 I was thinking the same thing! I was expecting him to sound like Cheryl Cole!

  • So, that's how it all started, Sting met Stewart Copeland and of course Stewart's dad was a CIA agent. Stars don't emerge, they are created and controlled.

  • how many years has he been in the same state of balding for?

  • gotta love sting

  • Look closely at 1:05

Sting points a quick finger at Parkinson...

"ha...thought ya had me there, you focking twat. I'll take the high road to condescend down to your twitty patronizing!"

    ""take that you poof!"

    Sting is way too quick

  • @novanine9 wtf are you talking about?

  • @bababoum go back to around 1:00 and watch how Sting points that quick finger at Parkinson....just a little mental dual...all in good fun, but I caught it.

  • @novanine9 I think you may be reading too much into it.

  • @bababoum - Who, really, knows but Sting himself....ya know?

STARTING AT AROUND 0:50 - if you watch that particular segment where Parkingson adds pressure onto Sting's remark with that quick WHY(?)...IT WAS A QUICK INTERRUPTION WHILE STING WAS ANSWERING THE QUESTION

SHARP INTERJECTED QUESTIONS, INTO ONE'S REMARK ARE, USUALLY, A DEAD SIGN OF SOME TYPE OF QUALIFIED CHALLENGE, WHETHER CONSCIOUS OR NOT.

And of course...ONCE STING GOT APPLAUSE 4 THE PC ANSWER....OUT COMES THE QUICK FINGER

  • Happy Birthday, Sting!

  • it was a yellow & black woolly jumper much worn by Punks of the 1970's

  • sting- Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner

  • @sgtlamblung dont believe what you hear, believe what you see. this man is clearly genuine, has grand opinions and acknowledges his own mental capacity. he doesnt seem rude, fake.. he only seems genuine. MAYBE he does believe women are superior, does that really affect your opinion? if youre letting it get u worked up maybe youre insecure? let him be as he is.

  • American lover of Sting here. What are "A levels" that he said he got that somehow got him into teaching. Are they grades on a teaching or graduate school exam?

  • @hardcider09

Theyre a grade from further education. To sum it up, you get GCSEs from highschool, you cant then progress onto a college to get A levels, and if you get those you can go to university for a degree or some other form of job training, such as teacher training. However, most teaching positions these days require a degree, so sting got a little lucky in the 60s.

  • true player... stinger, the sting man :p

  • Sting, you are a wazzok.

  • He writes a good tune.

  • Sing is gorgeous!!!!

    MMMMMmmmMMmmmMMmmMm

  • Lol

  • sting's real name is: Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner but he's better known as Sting

  • STING IS BETTER KNOWN AS STING?

  • @MsMssi Ur a Dumb ass

  • what is stings real name?

  • @kfirie

    sting is his real name

  • @bastardester19 No it´s not. Gordon Sumner.

  • @bastardester19 Sting is his stage name. He obtained it by dressing in yellow and black at a show. Colors of a bee, by the way.

  • @unbelivableLP sorry but i cant take any musician seriously who goes by the name sting. especially a guy who is in his 50s. not to mention the fact that he was a maths teacher.

  • @LitaWWF Still a talented man

  • @LitaWWF sucks for you then

  • I also like three dimensional love songs. :)

Thank you Mr. Sting for that...

  • If only Sting's albums were as interesting as his story telling these days...

I could sit here and listen to the man for days on end!

  • If you don't appreciate Sting's music you should try listening to the Lyrics and the Chord structures as 2 different entities - his writing is like a struggle to be different within the confines of both the English language and the 13 notes available!

  • Yes, I see what you mean.

But it's not that I don't like Sting's music recently, it's more that it feels almost too introspective for my taste.

I wouldn't call it boring, because it's far too accomplished to deserve that, but I do appreciate a well-crafted tune now and then.

If it's catchy, that doesn't hurt either.

I suppose I prefer it when he Jazzes out...

  • You asshole. As far as the campaign goes, The University of California gave Obama more money than Goldman Sachs. Never seen such arcane ignorance: mulatto, big eared, bisexual?

  • hahah women superior, didnt know he as a comedian too!

  • hahhahahahahaha

  • sting akward around women?! Wow what a transformation!

  • there's nothing to do about it... he's just the best :)

  • There's some connection with a poster that he saw for a play about Cyrano de Bergerac who is obsessed with Roxanne. The poster was on a wall outside a venue the Police were playing.

  • Roxanne didn't have to put on the red light.

  • This interviewer is excellent! He brings some interesting reactions from Sting, adding threads to the life we Police fans have read about.

  • Sting did NOT move to to America in 1977. Where do you get this bullshit?

  • is something connect this interwiever and Derek & Clive?

  • fookin why aye man LOL

  • think u have been watching to much friends

  • def sounds geordie to me,

  • There's a difference between speaking Geordie (a dialect) and having a Geordie accent. Also there is a huge difference between ameliorating your accent so as to be better understood and "disguising" your accent.. I'm sure sting is as proud of being a Geordie as I am but that doesn't mean that he has to adhere to the limiting parameters of what it means to be a Geordie as demanded by some. Whey aye.

  • the man is a winner and a gentlemen

  • @shambelle2

i'll tell you whos a winner and a gentleman. you.

  • @shambelle2 not only dat , he is a genius

  • Not all Geordies speak Geordie.

  • no that's right, some spend years trying to disguise their accent as they feel it's restricting....

  • god sting is awsome

  • is very cool

  • why the hell doesnt he speak geordie when hes form newcastle?

  • his accent isn't strong but it's there, slight hint of american somewhere as well

  • cos hes ejykated

  • smug is hot is it...i think people with flu are hot

  • Sting da man

  • What a hot man.

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • Stings body of work stands the test of time, he's up there with the best of them, not quite Lennon& McCartney, but in the second level. But yeah, he should stick to writing and performing. MInd you when you have been as successful as he has it must turn you into a bit of a pompous prat.

  • @capeman0 On the same level as David Gilmour and Roger Waters. True winners... i mean , they won the war against life itself.

  • Michael Winner is an english film producer : and he is wearing a red poppy (made of paper) in his lapel. These are sold in Britain at a certain time for remembering the fallen from the first and second world wars. The poppies covered the fields of france where the dead lay.

  • smug about what? Christ, have you ever had a conversation in your life?

  • "have you ever had a conversation in your life!?"

    ..umm...yes!!!

if you dont 'get' the fact that i think sting is smug then i dont think we're going to get along either way.i mean he might be talented and possibly id,like totally get on with him if i met him but that doesnt stop the fact that his persopna is a total smug arsehole.look at him for gods sake!!! i mean ,theres far worse things people could do obviously but smugness is pretty off putting to me personally, even if it is soooo gay

  • I don't understand how you get that impression...he's just a person.

  • hmmm of course he's just a person...what else is he?

  • "she doesn't really exist"

    thats right sting...you sly dog.

  • Crankcase - I 've heard people say that. Maybe you can explain why that is. Where was the pretentiousness in this interview?

  • there is something about him that i think is hot.. i find myself very attracted to him.. especially when he sings ballards!!

  • sting you the man

  • he once in the jazz days wore a yellow and black jumper and the drummer noticed it and called him Sting

  • what does STING stand for? Does it mean anything?

  • When the police wer on tour he wore this yellow n black striped t-shirt all the time n the other 2 slagged him n called him sting n the rest is history

  • As the man says ayellow and black shirt poss bee sting?

  • Apparantly he used to wear a striped jumper and the nick name was born!

  • He used to ware a black and yellow striped jumper so he got nick named sting.

  • he seems like a thoroughly nice bloke. but he has never really spoken with a geordie accent, and he is a geordie. he sounds like a southerner. i just find it strange is all

  • I dont live far from were sting was born:P

  • i have a sting next me

  • now now stop dreaming

  • Sting = Proper Musician.

  • whats the thing on stings lapel?

  • a british poppy

  • Poppy, to represent veterans in the British army - mostly also casualties during WWI, WWII, etc.

  • i was at this sting is god

  • to me, it doesn't matter if he's a prick. we all did a thing or two stupid things at some point in our life but Sting, he's a gifted musician and a great song writer.

  • fuck up

  • what does that mean

  • i think you are a bit handicapped

  • he dosent seem a bad person here why do eople call him a prick all the time???

  • fuck up

  • @sgtLambLung what happened with his housemaid?

  • @sgtLambLung He's a complete arse....Does he really need to endear himself to women more? He's a joke.

  • @sgtLambLung whaat?

  • It is funny that he says "I love you and you HAVE to love somebody else." Cause prostitutes don't so what they do out of love. But one thing is for sure... I LOVE Sting. He is amazing.

  • Sting is a such gifted musician...intelligent and articulate...he has it all...

  • Thank you Sting xoxo

  • 0:29-0:32

Haha. I love ya Sting :]

  • Anybody know who Michael Winer is that Sting refers to in the interview?

  • I think he is an english director :)

  • bang!

  • cool bloke

  • He's amazzzing. No surprise from somebody who has my birthday :)

  • Sting seems more comfortable with press now than ever. I just love you Sting...

    Love (L)

    xxxxxx

  • sexiest rock star ever!:)

  • The man's a genius.

  • sting is a legent.i love his music

  • For such a good song writer,i dislike the affected, pretentiousness of the guy with his constant attempts at showing off, being over verbose in his songs & trying not to have a geordie accent

  • well if you have a limited intellect you're not expected to get it.

  • erm. he is a bit relaxed talking about sex but since he likes sex alot i doubt hes gay

  • lol. i thought gays liked sex too. not that i am . just saying

  • Saw him in Amsterdam last september: love him!!!

  • top interview thanks

  • He's a brilliant musician, saw him perform with Chris Botti a few weeks ago.
