Economies develop on their own in space travel research and development. The reality is invention and production that enhances the economy a thousandfold. It's beneficial to the world's brain pool and ultimate survival to add to the developments toward science and industry. Any space program is comprised of thousands of small companies building widgets and testing by quality control. These same companies spawn others that benefit society. It's a necessary cycle.

Yes and be a technologically inferior nation forever right. Because if you are born a Indian your focus should only be to eliminate poverty and any other dream is forbidden. I don't think your advise is well worth it.
