Do not need much to move 1500lb but takes more to move 2000+. Depends i guess. Big muscle cars are excellent drag and track if tuned, while o think tuner can also, but are more for GT instead.

I know with tuning and boost, you can compete with a natural American engine, but with the same tuning and boost, I can put your SUpra underground. My Essex has an American powertrain and has established records and my friend's 55 Chevy wagon has reached over 200 mph in less than 3.5 seconds and we are still unsure of it's top speed and cannot even remotely presume what it is. Also, I have nothing against Imports and have owned three Rolls Royce in my life alone.

@saltwateraquaruim i have a 1989 camaro RS with a 350 v8 swap(punched out .30 oversized), 3" exhaust, limited slip swap, headers, bored out throttle body, edlebrock performer plus cam, L89 heads. the car is pretty quick but you would expect it to be slow because its an RS and the biggest stock engine for the RS was the L03 305, kind of a dog. when i think performance i think camaro, firebird, corvette, or even mustang NOT civc. civics are grocery getters

ALSO, Ricers drive imports. I drive American cars and trucks with no less than eight cylinders, no less than 700 horsepower. As a general rule, that excludes me from owning a Honda.

I know with tuning and boost, you can compete with a natural American engine, but with the same tuning and boost, I can put your SUpra underground. My Essex has an American powertrain and has established records and my friend's 55 Chevy wagon has reached over 200 mph in less than 3.5 seconds and we are still unsure of it's top speed and cannot even remotely presume what it is. Also, I have nothing against Imports and have owned three Rolls Royce in my life alone.

I drive an 8,000 pound Cadillac that eats "tunes" seven series on a regular basis. Bigger, more powerful engine will always mean more power, as even by building a small engine to meet up with one, the bigger engine will be all that much faster when it is built up too.

The SOHC setup is inferior to DOHC in every tunable aspect, except engine drag, but the added drag of a second light camshaft is far less than the extra power a finely-tuned DOHC can provide. I'm just sayin', man, don't bring up my envy of small displacement engines if I drive one. Not to mention she's running 10PSI, herself. Your 1JZ ain't a big deal to me. Big heavy engine means big heavy handling
