I can live in the same damn town as Bruce Willis and not know a god damned thing about him! Who are these idiots that buy into this shit!? Oh yeah most people didn't and that statement is one of the things that helps to caricature Miz Palin. What a clown!
I live right next to Canada and know absolutely nothing about their politics, and you can get across that border with a driver's license and a simple explanation of the purpose of your visit.
shapular (2 months ago) Now that's just not true. Senator Lamar Alexander was governor of Tennessee for eight years and Secretary of Education for two years.
Alexander did nothing with Tennessee like Palin did with Alaska. No other Governor in the history of the U.S. has ever had a higher approval rating than Palin.
So it is now a true statement that none of the members of Congress have any executive experience, even though there is at least one former governor and one former mayor? I don't quite follow your logic. This is a pointless argument anyway.
Experience alone is not the issue. Compare the results that Palin has accomplished and balanced Alaska's budget so well, she was able to give each person $1200. of the surplus. She sold the jet because it was a tax burden for her people. She has a talent for spotting what is wrong and correcting it. It's not just being a governor, but what a governor does to cut the wasteful spending and making the best decisions. So yes, she is highly qualified as Prez of the U.S.
let me lecture you, Palin was choosed because she was a woman perhaps choosed among other womans to run as candidate and they did to gain supporters from clintons voters, that is not really getting through the most competent people because your eliminating all men possibilities because of the way people vote, people are dumb and they play with ours.
You're not lecturing me. Why wasn't Clinton elected as Prez? She IS a woman. And WTF does gender have to do with being competant to to do the job righ?. She turned Alaska around and it's still celebtating it. You're an idiot. My statement was the TRUTH. Obama and the insane Liberals show us everyday thay are fuck-ups. Palin can do for America and its people what o'blarma evidently can't. The only thing he knows is how to be a crook.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If you don't see what the idiots are doing in DC now, you need to get your head out of obama's ass and see what you've been missing. Palin is way smarter than Bush and obama combined. Bush is gone, this is lib congress and the moron o'blah-ma's mess now. And damn they made a bigger mess of it too.
Maj. Allen Herritage, a spokesman for the Alaska region of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, at Elmendorf Air Force Base. To be very clear, there has not been any incursion in U.S. airspace in recent years, Herritage said.
Why is Steve "the weatherman" Doocy, sports guy Kilmeade, and a cheerleader giving analyst about politics? They might as well put 3 monkeys up there. They're totally dredful to listen to and way outta their league.
DOVER, New Hampshire (CNN) The campaign of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said the Alaska governor was unaware of a visit by Russian energy officials to Anchorage on Monday.
Palin has argued that her states proximity to Russia, as well as trade missions between Alaska and Russia, gives her the foreign policy experience necessary to be Vice President. The Gazprom delegation met with the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, a Palin appointee.
You know, sometimes, actually alot of the times the media just have no idea what they're talking about. I think every once in a while, these channels should hire 6 average americans to sit down and talk about the issues. Theses channels they get that have these senior political corrsepondants who are suppose to know everything about that subject they "specialize in", but it often turns out they make false assmuptions, and the typical American could provide a better analyses.
Bullshit. These are (supposedly) political strategists. They are people who sit around and discuss not issues, but rather the best ways to appeal to voters. What are average Americans going to bring to the table? The typical American is not only ignorant of his/her own country's government and political process, but also grossly uninformed abut "the issues". If anything, the typical American's opinion is molded by these twits and their barrage of buzzwords.
Bullshit to you, What do you mean they don't discuss issues?!I don't care who they, are wether it be a political strategist or not. These political analyst make these anazlyses that anyone informed intelligent American voter could point out. I am not saying they completly get rid of the strategist, but just once in a while find some average Americans who have no special training and are well informed, about these issues, and give them a chance to give their opinions and analogies of these topics.
The biggest problem I have with your first statement, however, is that the average American is not informed, so when you describe someone who is well informed about the issues, you are highlighting a minority in America. Why the fetish with the "average" American, anyway? Just because you have done some research, doesn't make you truly knowledgeable on a subject, by any means. If you want political commentary on a slightly higher level, Mark Shields and David Brooks are on the Lehrer Report.
Ok,I don't have a fetish, there are americans that have a good idea when it comes to politics, they may not be experts, but that's exactly my point. Alls that i am saying is i wish we could have a different opinion on these issues form people who are not political strategist. I just want another point of view on these shows, besides just all the strategist. We are constantly hear the strategist view on the issue and we are quick to agree with them, because we think they know all on this subject
The left-wing activist group, ACORN, is now under investigation for voter registration fraud in a number of battleground states. ACORN's political action committee has endorsed Barack Obama and Senator Obama himself has said, "I have been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career." The Obama Campaign even paid more than $800,000 to an ACORN affiliate for "get out the vote activity." And now we find out that ACORN is suspected of voter registration fraud.
BWAHAHHAAA...sounds like blondie was being over zealous. The other guy wanted to smack him for that. Tells you how FOX news whips their news broadcasters.
Here is Couric's full response to Biden's bizarre outburst about FDR (a) being president and (b) going on TV in 1929: "Relating to the fears of the average American is one of Biden's strong suits."
But when our beauteous Sarah said that John McCain was a better leader on the economy than Barack Obama, Couric relentlessly badgered her for evidence.
thats cause mccain himself has said he doesn't know much about the economy, and up til a day before the stock market crash he was praising deregulation
I HAVE THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TOO: i live in Romania and we were neighbors with the Soviet Union until 1991!!!! ON LAND !!! Too bad I'm not a us citizen, i have the same experience as her and other 2 billion people in the world (China is also Russia's neighbor)
Here's the difference .... when ever Bill was asked a question, from anybody, he generally provided a coherent response. While Palin, god help her, can't seem to get words out of her mouth without loosing site of the question (or so it seems).
Here's the thing regarding Foreign Policy experience. Even if Palin was VERY exprienced, I'd still guess she wasn't, based on her rambling and messy "answers".
umm, she can't even put a coherent sentence together, trembles when she speaks.. and she would likely inherit the most powerful position on earth??????????
boy, with 'friends' like republicans, who needs enemies? the republicans are doing more damage to america than al quaida could ever dream of!!
See if you're saying the same thing after the 10/2 debate. And BTW, don't lecture Palin on "putting a coherent sentence together and trembles when she speaks" when your hero Obama is the one that's having problems with his "uh-uh-uh-uh's" and lack of specifics.
palin doesn't even know that the (dangerous) bush doctrine is.
a deaf man even knows that obama is 100 times more fluid than mcSame.
as for 'specifics', republicans with their uneccessary wars and corporate kiss as policies, have caused the dollar to be its LOWEST VALUE EVER and have ruined america's intl reputation. yes, even our allies despise the republican party.
Makes perfect sense to me that being next door to Russia and actually seeing Russia from Alaska gives her automatic foreign policy credentials. As someone else also pointed out, she has seen the moon and therefore has the credentials to be on the next Space Shuttle Mission !!!
McCain ticket is imploding and I'm loving it. It's surprising that Americans have been stupid enough to last this long before they came to their senses but then again, don't put anything beyond all you fatass, half retarded cheesecake inhalers that I call my fellow americans.
It's about time you recognized who is telling the truth and who is running a political side-show circus.
All you fat idiots are welcome at my dinner table anytime from now on.
I'm beginning to believe that Doocy is a democrat in disguise. He is just making witty remarks to make fun of the fanatical right wing. 'SHE LIVES RIGHT UP THERE NEXT TO RUSSIA IN ALASKA' .... LOL.
If it were up to Liberals (like Biden) we'd ALL be able to see Russia from our backyards.
Then of course, Obama does have alot of international experience, like his plan to invade Pakistan - and when he asked leaders in Iraq(Zebari)to delay any possible troop withdrawal until after the election.
Okay so I live in south Texas close to Mexico, Does that mean I have international relations experience? sweet then damn it I'm running for president...wooohoo vote Blackmambakins 08 lol. I swear Fox who should rename themselves "Faux News" they seem to think Americans are morons and we can't distinguish left from right and the fact that these moronic news reporters are so good at twisting facts and thinking they are superior to the average person watching astounds me.
I think she afraid of the our nomad tribes that live in that section of Russia(which is who mainly lives there) They follow an ancient shaman faith and not whatever Protestant faith she is. She scared that they will invade Alaska and kill and rape all the poor helpless protestants there.
Sarah Palin can see Russia from her home. What can Putin see - nothing but US missiles being installed in Poland. Palin will crush the Russians as she pounds the podium with her Gucci stileto pump.
Well Illinois is close to Canada and Obama has been a senator for longer than Palin has been govener so that must give hime loads of foriegn policy experience.
I keep wondering if people watch FOX news for the entertainment/the fake news or because they are so dumb. I keep hoping it is the former, but then who voted Bush and how is it possible half of the population of America still want to vote for the republican party? Maybe they watch the wrong news.
If I sell a carton of cigarrettes on E-bay, can i run for VP too? give me a fucking break. Palin do what you do best and go back to alaska as a beauty queen!! go obama!
Why do we have these dumb guys working on TV? steven/Stephen is a idiot! What did she do to have FA experince? Stop the moose from going back to Russia? I guess in order for us to again "National Security Experience" we need to stop our kids from going to university to learn and work in politics, and have them go to Alaska to learn how to shoot moose, and because you can see Russia from Alaska!
Fox News will say ANYTHING because they know 50% of the people watching will believe it -- and repeat it verbatim to their friends. Things like the truth and facts are rather insignificant to Fox and their loyal viewers. I'm not sure why we're not sitting in the Fox News lobby right now with torches and pitchforks after their "handling" of the '00 election. Ridiculous.
Where did you get the 50% stats from? Never mind dont answer, I know you just made it up. If truth and facts are insignificent then they must lie a lot. Give me some proof they lie.
Y'all don't make fun of Douchebag. He was born without a brain, and his son is both stupid and haircut challenged. He, like all of the others on fnc, have no soul, having sold them long ago to the GOP (Greedy Old Partisans).
BTW, I once saw Evel Knievel--that makes me a motorcycle long distance jumping expert.
Well, actually you can tell a lot about those who are your neighbors. How many states in the US contend with Russian bombers and recon planes making runs at their territory? How many states regularly deal with violations of territorial waters by a foreign nuclear power. How many states have Russian warships testing their territorial waters and claiming international waters belong to Russia?
MMM... Yes she can see Russia and she doesn't like what she sees - a bad and threatening neighbor.
Ohh, yeah and USG is peachy, starting unconstitutional wars, lying (WMDs), attempting to install NATO around Russia's border (a hostile formation promised Gorbachev not spread East), building up to deploy missiles next to Russia's border (Poland)... One sees the world the way one is. So, saying: Russia is a bad neighbor is like saying that the speaker itself is a bad neighbor, but than again, Americans are lied to much to have the right picture. USG appears to have lost it's way.
Perhaps one sees the world the way Russia is. In the 18th/19th Centuries Russia destroyed Poland and incorporated them into its empire after killing hundreds of thousands of Poles and Ukraines. In the Revolution Russia killed hundreds of thousands of Ukraines. In the 30s Russia killed over a million Ukraines. After WWII Russia sent hundreds of thousands of Ukraines to the Gulag. Persons unknown whose address is Russia tried to poison the current predsident. And I haven't begun.
First off, completely irrelevant; second off, Russians suffered just as much as anyone else under the rule of Stalin (who was a Georgian, by the way) so cut the crap.
As the left likes to say, what the Russians do to the Russians is their business, sorta like Sadam raping Iraq. On the other hand, what the Russians do to their neighbors they will do to everyone. Stalin was a communist who happens to have been born in Georgia. Obama fancies himself a European styled leftist, who happens to have been born in the US. Then there is Mao - would you believe one hundred million murdered? And what happened to Tibet?
Saddam did not rape Iraq, Bush did. Saddam destroyed 3 villages and was hanged for it, Saakashvilli destroyed 10 and he is a friend of America. I don't get it: Mao, Obamama fancying himself a European, dead Tibetians - are Russians guilty of all of that?
How is Mao relevant? What the Russians will do to their neighbors they will to to everyone? That's pure idiocy, if Russia wanted to take Georgia, they would have done it, they were just a few miles from the capital and could have overrun it in less than a day. If they really wanted to oust Saakashvili, they could have just killed him with a bomb raid and let that be that. Also, do keep in mind, probably more Iraqis died as a result of America's actions in Iraq than Saddam's.
Mao is a leading indicator of the willingness of the left to kill for an ideology. Russia's military, save its ICBMs, is a basket case. It was barely able to lurch into Georgia against a police force. Russia pillaged Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and East Germany, declared war on Finland and incorporated the free Baltic states into its Empire against their will. If you mean because the US removed Saddam the Moslem sects took it as a green light to kill each other, I agree.
"Mao is a leading..." OK, but that applies to all people. Muslim fundamentalists kill for faith so did Catholic church and USG kills for "democracy." "against a police force"? - US and Israely military experts trained and armed Georgian army for years. Yeah, police using tanks, grad and Buk - funny. How does the "green light" sentence refute the point? So, USG created a tumoil in Iraq which USG, unlike Saddam, fail to control, and therefore more Iraqis die now and "I agree"? This makes no sense.
The right has also proven its willingness to kill for their beliefs as well, so drop the moral superiority delusion. Plus, Russia isn't really a leftist country, and probably more capitalist than the USA itself in many ways. Russia's military wiped out Georgia's military within a few days and could easily have finished the job. Czechoslovakia, Hungary, the Baltic states, etc all killed more of their own people in service to Nazi Germany than were killed by the USSR in those countries.
Actually Hitler was anti communist and anti Slav and Jew but when you peeled race away you got a traditional Socialist who used capitalist money to advance his political ambitions and racial prejudices. His party was the NSDAP, the National Socialist German Worker's Party. He shot the radical Socialist Rohm not because he disagreed with him politically but because he interferred with Hitler's plan to take control of Germany by using the army and capitalist money and influence.
lol thats hilarious i left a similar quote on jon stewarts video saying im a genius cause i live down the street from nasa:P (i dont by the way) lol but thats just to show how stupid & irrelevant his comments was hehehe
freshfact.. i think you're missing the most important issue:
nobody cares about your bullshit. facts are nothing without context. you're basically just repeating everything the air force academy taught you. read a book.
Sarah Palin is an idiot. Anybody who thinks otherwise -- or anybody still drinking the Christian right-wing conservative Bush Kool-Aid -- is a complete fucking idiot.
Look, this string shows these facts clearly disturb you. It certainly would be easier to post something popular. It really would. If there is a video or item that you find with the majority posting imbalanced material, thin on facts, and you wish to get the facts vetted, refer it along. Or eat something healthy and get some exercise. Yet know that FreshFact only operates on an Independent basis, caring nothing for emotion and only caring for facts. Beholden to none, Facts for All.
"Alaskan citizens face unique stress, and trade issues, due to their presence on the Russian border."
Given that Russia and the US are each armed with INTERCONTINENTAL thermonuclear missiles- you know, the kind that can travel thousands of miles across the globe- please explain why Alaskans face "unique stress" due to their proximity to Russia.
You're implying (b/c ALL facts carry implication) that Russia would plan a ground attack? Across the Bering Strait?
FACT: The U.S. government installed, funds and maintains on constant alert extensive Air Force, Navy and Army assets throughout Alaska for a reason.
FACT: Numerous military defense and attack plans directly implicate countering the enemy in, from or above Alaska due to the strategic flyway, sea lane, attack channel, and oil field factors.
FACT: ICBMs are not the issue. ICBMs are stationed throughout the U.S. (including for example, Nebraska) and in air and sea power assets across the world.
What Palin actually said before being cut off by ABC
"But NATO, I think, should include Ukraine, definitely, at this point and I think that we need to — especially with new leadership coming in on January 20, being sworn on, on either ticket, we have got to make sure that we strengthen our allies, our ties with each one of those NATO members.
We have got to make sure that that is the group that can be counted upon to defend one another in a very dangerous world today."
"Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard... says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the Nat. Guard is the first responder. But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska Nat. Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations. [AP, 8/31/08]
Regarding in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters:
"Did Palin directly approve each of those activities? No, Maj. Gen. Campbell said. The governor has granted him the authority to act on his own in most cases, including life-or-death emergencies - when a quick response is required - and minor day-to-day operations. [McClatchy, 9/3/08]
The facts remain FACTS: Gov Palin routinely interfaces with the military and civilian base leaders and personnel in Alaska. Like any governor, she possesses detailed knowledge about those facilities.
FACT: Air Force never took or received orders from Gov. Palin.
FACT: Gov. Palin, unlike leaders from the other states, faces unique challenges when Russian bombers head toward her state.
FACT: Alaskan citizens face unique stress, and trade issues, due to their presence on the Russian border.
OK, I see, so Russian bombers entered a territory called AADIZ which extends beyond the 12 miles of US air space off Alaskan shore, and that called for US jets to go meet them and see what they were up to. That's why this never made a splash in the media and that's why those sorties never stopped - they weren't violations of Internationally recognized US borders. What unique stress, and trade issues face Alaskan citizens bordering Russia?
FACT: Russian Bombers streaming into the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone were alarming enough to cause the U.S. Air Force scrambled F-15 jets on multiple occasions to intercept. This has just not happened in the other 49 states.
FACT: This sharp Russian escalation prompted the U.S. Air Force Commander to report the incident to the media, and some articles were written.
FACT: If the entire media fails to grasp an important issue, that does not mean the incidents never happened.
"If the entire media fails to grasp an important issue, that does not mean the incidents never happened." Ohh, the media would GRASP the issue especially if it has to do with R. threatening a country. US local media probably exaggerates the importance of AADIZ entrance, when the world media does not see it as such, neither does the White House, for there definitely would have been calls. USG and RG have much closer communication going than it may seem.
FACT: There is a reason why the Pacific Air Force assets are not commanded by the media.
FACT: Pacific Air Force Commander Gen. Chandler does not care for the sharp Russian bomber run escalation.
FACT: Mark Conversino, who teaches courses on Russia and Ukraine at the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., says that these Russian Bomber runs create the risk of an intercept turning into something much worse.
FACT: History is replete with the media ignoring key issues until too late.
"Chandler does not care for the sharp Russian bomber run escalation"-because renewed patrols outside US airspace, which caused no conflict during USSR are not a threat. No Russian bombers were ever intercepted only approached and eventually left alone on their course. J. McCain intercepted a missile in Vietnam, that INTERCEPTION changed the courses of both. So, using word intercept in case with Russian bomber patrols which are still going on outside US airspace is just a poor word selection.
FACT: There is a reason why the Pacific Air Force assets are not commanded by the media. This is because they realize that writing FACT and than a quote from media does not make it true. EXAMPLE: FACT: ..Palin.. knows about International relations because... Alaska... is next to Russia. (Video) And this is a FACT why, because a fellow American said that? Of course it's not a fact. What was Russia's military explanation for Alaska incidents (not someone explaining on Russia's behalf)?
Freshfact, you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Palin has little to no involvement with Alaskan-based Military; it's above he head.
Russia has not had bombers head straight for our coasts for the in the last 2-3 years to "test U.S. defenses." Where are you getting this from; pulling it out your ass? Show proof.
See reply just posted to libmgsms. The Russian Bombers illegally penetrated the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone and the U.S. Air Force scrambled F-15 jets on multiple occasions to intercept. These intercepts represent a sharp increase over recent years.
Whats with all the posts stating Russian bombers heading towards Alaska, as if it was a military aggression. The bomber patrol is renewed after many years of break and their routes and schedules are known to the neighboring countries and the last are notified prior to events to avoid any kind of conflicts. NATO jets often escort Russian bombers be it in Far Eastern or European neutral zones. Just curious, what unique stress, and trade issues face Alaskan citizens bordering Russia?
The incidents discussed are "intercepts" versus "escorts". Intercepts involve scrambling F-15s to intercept unwanted Russian bombers heading straight for the Alaskan coast to test U.S. defenses.
If F15ns flew over US border to meet Russian bombers in the neutral zone that's escorting, meeting them on US territory that's interception - and a whole different story. R. military plane(s) on its route briefly crossed Finlands border, almost a year ago, that got news coverage, and R. officials apologized to F. officials. U2 flying over USSR and getting taken down in 1960 and the pilot Garry Powers being captured for a trial, that's interception (missile one in this case but still).
These were INTERCEPTS. For example see the Apr 8, 2008 U.S. Air Force Times statement: "More and more American and Canadian fighter jets are scrambling and intercepting Russian bombers flying off the Alaskan coast, exacerbating tensions between the former Cold War foes.
There have been 16 such intercepts since July, Pacific Air Forces Commander Gen. Howie Chandler told the Anchorage Daily News on March 27. That compares with just one in 2005, and none in the previous 10 years, Chandler said."
I'm conflicted. On one hand, I'm a sane person who looks for intelligence and wisdom in the leaders he chooses. On the other hand, I think it might be cool to live in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Obama/Biden will bring us sane leadership...
McCain/Palin will bring us apocalypse.
Such a tough choice. Either way, I'm stocking up on canned goods.
** McCain/Palin: For fighting wars with Russia over tiny, former Soviet states since Nov. 2008! **
FACT: Russian bombers headed to the Alaskan coast forced U.S. Air Force jets to scramble multiple times this year to intercept. Governors (or senators) from the other states do not face that constant, serious pressure. Such pressure gives Gov. Palin unique credentials to face such challenges.
TRUE: "Russian bombers headed to the Alaskan coast forced U.S. Air Force jets to scramble...."
FALSE: "Such pressure gives Gov. Palin unique credentials to face such challenges."
WHY? As a FEDERAL dept., the Air Force never took or received orders from Gov. Palin. She has no jurisdiction. Scrambling jets to meet foreign aircraft is Standard Op Procedure.
If all you're talking about is "the stress of potential bombing", then everyone in Alaska has the same experience.
FACT: The Governor and state employees routinely interface with the military and civilian base leaders and personnel in Alaska.
You're essentially implying that Palin has foreign policy experience based on occasional memos/briefings she gets from the Air Force.
Apart from Russian jets making random flybys in international waters (not US territory), the biggest issue between Alaska and Russia regards fishing rights.
Don't apologize for the ludicrous statement made by McCain and others, that Palin has foreign policy exp. based on Alaska's proximity to Russia.
All the facts listed remain facts, even if they prove inconvenient (or supportive) to someone's particular worldview.
FACT: Elmendorf Air Force base, Eielson Air Force base, the 11th Air Force, and the numerous other Alaskan-based military installations exist to secure the U.S. border and to project military power if necessary. Governor Palin and the Alaskan people remain inextricably intertwined with that reality and that experience. That is not an implication or an apology. Its a fact.
When asked in a TV interview yesterday by reporter Charles Gibson about going to war with Russia if they attack Georgia again, Sarah Palin stated:
quote "Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally. If another country is attacked, you are going to be expected to be called upon to help."
"idiot Palin" wants a war with a nuclear country that could kill us all.
Obama wants to lower your taxes AND pay for your healthcare. If you make less than $250,000 a year, voting for McCain/Palin is a vote against your own interests and well-being. Think about this when you enter the voting booth.
Sarah Palin the conservative darling, the corruption fighting pit bull who hired a mayoral campaign supporter for a $55,000 City Engineers position who had no experience for such a position. One step away from the oval office if elected. Who would she get as Secretary of Defense? Barney Fife?
The Republicans see her through rose colored glasses and can't see her for what she really is, nothing more then a typical politician and absolutely nothing special.
I was going to support McCain but this is a deal breaker for me. His choice shows very poor judgement. Sarah Palin fiscal conservative took ofice as mayor of a town with zero debt. Left office as mayor of the town with $58 million in debt. $1.5 million in debt and legal fees for the sports complex which they started to build without clear title. She would be a heartbeat away from the oval office. Oh joy.
LMAF....... Russia is next to alaska therefore Sarah has International Experience...... geez, I am living in Japan next to North-South Korea, Taiwan, China and Russia, does that make me a better candidate than Sarah for the VP, since I have more countries next to me?
Talk about stupidity........this is the most stupid thing I have ever heard.....XD
I already know about that investigation and knew about it 3 months ago, before she was even tapped as McCain's VP choice. You seem pretty vindictive, not even researching the facts, so let me straighten that out.
This investigation is on the part of the liberals in the Alaskan legislature and was ALREADY conducted. She was fully cooperative and the investigation has been dropped, because she was well within her job duties -- unless you are more willing to believe lies rather than truths.
I can live in the same damn town as Bruce Willis and not know a god damned thing about him! Who are these idiots that buy into this shit!? Oh yeah most people didn't and that statement is one of the things that helps to caricature Miz Palin. What a clown!

shapular (2 months ago) Now that's just not true. Senator Lamar Alexander was governor of Tennessee for eight years and Secretary of Education for two years.

let me lecture you, Palin was choosed because she was a woman perhaps choosed among other womans to run as candidate and they did to gain supporters from clintons voters, that is not really getting through the most competent people because your eliminating all men possibilities because of the way people vote, people are dumb and they play with ours.

Theses channels they get that have these senior political corrsepondants who are suppose to know everything about that subject they "specialize in", but it often turns out they make false assmuptions, and the typical American could provide a better analyses.
rh1455 3 years ago
Bullshit. These are (supposedly) political strategists. They are people who sit around and discuss not issues, but rather the best ways to appeal to voters. What are average Americans going to bring to the table? The typical American is not only ignorant of his/her own country's government and political process, but also grossly uninformed abut "the issues". If anything, the typical American's opinion is molded by these twits and their barrage of buzzwords.
stilts54 3 years ago
Bullshit to you, What do you mean they don't discuss issues?!I don't care who they, are wether it be a political strategist or not. These political analyst make these anazlyses that anyone informed intelligent American voter could point out. I am not saying they completly get rid of the strategist, but just once in a while find some average Americans who have no special training and are well informed, about these issues, and give them a chance to give their opinions and analogies of these topics.
rh1455 3 years ago
The biggest problem I have with your first statement, however, is that the average American is not informed, so when you describe someone who is well informed about the issues, you are highlighting a minority in America. Why the fetish with the "average" American, anyway? Just because you have done some research, doesn't make you truly knowledgeable on a subject, by any means. If you want political commentary on a slightly higher level, Mark Shields and David Brooks are on the Lehrer Report.
stilts54 3 years ago
Ok,I don't have a fetish, there are americans that have a good idea when it comes to politics, they may not be experts, but that's exactly my point. Alls that i am saying is i wish we could have a different opinion on these issues form people who are not political strategist. I just want another point of view on these shows, besides just all the strategist. We are constantly hear the strategist view on the issue and we are quick to agree with them, because we think they know all on this subject

MMM... Yes she can see Russia and she doesn't like what she sees - a bad and threatening neighbor.
rlc44 3 years ago
Ohh, yeah and USG is peachy, starting unconstitutional wars, lying (WMDs), attempting to install NATO around Russia's border (a hostile formation promised Gorbachev not spread East), building up to deploy missiles next to Russia's border (Poland)... One sees the world the way one is. So, saying: Russia is a bad neighbor is like saying that the speaker itself is a bad neighbor, but than again, Americans are lied to much to have the right picture. USG appears to have lost it's way.
libmgsms 3 years ago
Perhaps one sees the world the way Russia is. In the 18th/19th Centuries Russia destroyed Poland and incorporated them into its empire after killing hundreds of thousands of Poles and Ukraines. In the Revolution Russia killed hundreds of thousands of Ukraines. In the 30s Russia killed over a million Ukraines. After WWII Russia sent hundreds of thousands of Ukraines to the Gulag. Persons unknown whose address is Russia tried to poison the current predsident. And I haven't begun.
rlc44 3 years ago
First off, completely irrelevant; second off, Russians suffered just as much as anyone else under the rule of Stalin (who was a Georgian, by the way) so cut the crap.
hobofactory 3 years ago
As the left likes to say, what the Russians do to the Russians is their business, sorta like Sadam raping Iraq. On the other hand, what the Russians do to their neighbors they will do to everyone. Stalin was a communist who happens to have been born in Georgia. Obama fancies himself a European styled leftist, who happens to have been born in the US. Then there is Mao - would you believe one hundred million murdered? And what happened to Tibet?
rlc44 3 years ago
Saddam did not rape Iraq, Bush did. Saddam destroyed 3 villages and was hanged for it, Saakashvilli destroyed 10 and he is a friend of America. I don't get it: Mao, Obamama fancying himself a European, dead Tibetians - are Russians guilty of all of that?
libmgsms 3 years ago
How is Mao relevant? What the Russians will do to their neighbors they will to to everyone? That's pure idiocy, if Russia wanted to take Georgia, they would have done it, they were just a few miles from the capital and could have overrun it in less than a day. If they really wanted to oust Saakashvili, they could have just killed him with a bomb raid and let that be that. Also, do keep in mind, probably more Iraqis died as a result of America's actions in Iraq than Saddam's.
hobofactory 3 years ago
Mao is a leading indicator of the willingness of the left to kill for an ideology. Russia's military, save its ICBMs, is a basket case. It was barely able to lurch into Georgia against a police force. Russia pillaged Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and East Germany, declared war on Finland and incorporated the free Baltic states into its Empire against their will. If you mean because the US removed Saddam the Moslem sects took it as a green light to kill each other, I agree.
rlc44 3 years ago
"Mao is a leading..." OK, but that applies to all people. Muslim fundamentalists kill for faith so did Catholic church and USG kills for "democracy." "against a police force"? - US and Israely military experts trained and armed Georgian army for years. Yeah, police using tanks, grad and Buk - funny. How does the "green light" sentence refute the point? So, USG created a tumoil in Iraq which USG, unlike Saddam, fail to control, and therefore more Iraqis die now and "I agree"? This makes no sense.
libmgsms 3 years ago
The right has also proven its willingness to kill for their beliefs as well, so drop the moral superiority delusion. Plus, Russia isn't really a leftist country, and probably more capitalist than the USA itself in many ways. Russia's military wiped out Georgia's military within a few days and could easily have finished the job. Czechoslovakia, Hungary, the Baltic states, etc all killed more of their own people in service to Nazi Germany than were killed by the USSR in those countries.
hobofactory 3 years ago
Funny Hitler demonstrated the willingness of the right to kill for an ideology.
gangstagenius294 3 years ago
Actually Hitler was anti communist and anti Slav and Jew but when you peeled race away you got a traditional Socialist who used capitalist money to advance his political ambitions and racial prejudices. His party was the NSDAP, the National Socialist German Worker's Party. He shot the radical Socialist Rohm not because he disagreed with him politically but because he interferred with Hitler's plan to take control of Germany by using the army and capitalist money and influence.

I love this one:
"Alaskan citizens face unique stress, and trade issues, due to their presence on the Russian border."
Given that Russia and the US are each armed with INTERCONTINENTAL thermonuclear missiles- you know, the kind that can travel thousands of miles across the globe- please explain why Alaskans face "unique stress" due to their proximity to Russia.
You're implying (b/c ALL facts carry implication) that Russia would plan a ground attack? Across the Bering Strait?
Again, nice try.
yossarian9 3 years ago
FACT: The U.S. government installed, funds and maintains on constant alert extensive Air Force, Navy and Army assets throughout Alaska for a reason.
FACT: Numerous military defense and attack plans directly implicate countering the enemy in, from or above Alaska due to the strategic flyway, sea lane, attack channel, and oil field factors.
FACT: ICBMs are not the issue. ICBMs are stationed throughout the U.S. (including for example, Nebraska) and in air and sea power assets across the world.
freshfact 3 years ago
Hmmm...if this logic is true, then I think we should suspect Palin of being a secret Ruskie (she already wants Alaska out of the Union.)

FreeAgain2 3 years ago
"Maj. [AP, 8/31/08]
yossarian9 3 years ago
Regarding in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters:
"Did Palin directly approve each of those activities? No, Maj. Gen. Campbell said. The governor has granted him the authority to act on his own in most cases, including life-or-death emergencies - when a quick response is required - and minor day-to-day operations. [McClatchy, 9/3/08]
freshfact,
Those are the facts.
Consider your silly argument REFUTED.
yossarian9 3 years ago
The facts remain FACTS: Gov Palin routinely interfaces with the military and civilian base leaders and personnel in Alaska. Like any governor, she possesses detailed knowledge about those facilities.
FACT: Air Force never took or received orders from Gov. Palin.
FACT: Gov. Palin, unlike leaders from the other states, faces unique challenges when Russian bombers head toward her state.
FACT: Alaskan citizens face unique stress, and trade issues, due to their presence on the Russian border.
freshfact 3 years ago
OK, I see, so Russian bombers entered a territory called AADIZ which extends beyond the 12 miles of US air space off Alaskan shore, and that called for US jets to go meet them and see what they were up to. That's why this never made a splash in the media and that's why those sorties never stopped - they weren't violations of Internationally recognized US borders. What unique stress, and trade issues face Alaskan citizens bordering Russia?
libmgsms 3 years ago
FACT: Russian Bombers streaming into the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone were alarming enough to cause the U.S. Air Force scrambled F-15 jets on multiple occasions to intercept. This has just not happened in the other 49 states.
FACT: This sharp Russian escalation prompted the U.S. Air Force Commander to report the incident to the media, and some articles were written.
FACT: If the entire media fails to grasp an important issue, that does not mean the incidents never happened.
freshfact 3 years ago
"If the entire media fails to grasp an important issue, that does not mean the incidents never happened." Ohh, the media would GRASP the issue especially if it has to do with R. threatening a country. US local media probably exaggerates the importance of AADIZ entrance, when the world media does not see it as such, neither does the White House, for there definitely would have been calls. USG and RG have much closer communication going than it may seem.
libmgsms 3 years ago
FACT: There is a reason why the Pacific Air Force assets are not commanded by the media.
FACT: Pacific Air Force Commander Gen. Chandler does not care for the sharp Russian bomber run escalation.
FACT: Mark Conversino, who teaches courses on Russia and Ukraine at the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., says that these Russian Bomber runs create the risk of an intercept turning into something much worse.
FACT: History is replete with the media ignoring key issues until too late.
freshfact 3 years ago
"Chandler does not care for the sharp Russian bomber run escalation"-because renewed patrols outside US airspace, which caused no conflict during USSR are not a threat. No Russian bombers were ever intercepted only approached and eventually left alone on their course. J. McCain intercepted a missile in Vietnam, that INTERCEPTION changed the courses of both. So, using word intercept in case with Russian bomber patrols which are still going on outside US airspace is just a poor word selection.
libmgsms 3 years ago
FACT: There is a reason why the Pacific Air Force assets are not commanded by the media. This is because they realize that writing FACT and than a quote from media does not make it true. EXAMPLE: FACT: ..Palin.. knows about International relations because... Alaska... is next to Russia. (Video) And this is a FACT why, because a fellow American said that? Of course it's not a fact. What was Russia's military explanation for Alaska incidents (not someone explaining on Russia's behalf)?
libmgsms 3 years ago
Freshfact, you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Palin has little to no involvement with Alaskan-based Military; it's above he head.
Russia has not had bombers head straight for our coasts for the in the last 2-3 years to "test U.S. defenses." Where are you getting this from; pulling it out your ass? Show proof.
DjEmpyre 3 years ago 2
See reply just posted to libmgsms. The Russian Bombers illegally penetrated the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone and the U.S. Air Force scrambled F-15 jets on multiple occasions to intercept. These intercepts represent a sharp increase over recent years.
freshfact 3 years ago
Whats with all the posts stating Russian bombers heading towards Alaska, as if it was a military aggression. The bomber patrol is renewed after many years of break and their routes and schedules are known to the neighboring countries and the last are notified prior to events to avoid any kind of conflicts. NATO jets often escort Russian bombers be it in Far Eastern or European neutral zones. Just curious, what unique stress, and trade issues face Alaskan citizens bordering Russia?
libmgsms 3 years ago
The incidents discussed are "intercepts" versus "escorts". Intercepts involve scrambling F-15s to intercept unwanted Russian bombers heading straight for the Alaskan coast to test U.S. defenses.

If F15ns flew over US border to meet Russian bombers in the neutral zone that's escorting, meeting them on US territory that's interception - and a whole different story. R. military plane(s) on its route briefly crossed Finlands border, almost a year ago, that got news coverage, and R. officials apologized to F. officials. U2 flying over USSR and getting taken down in 1960 and the pilot Garry Powers being captured for a trial, that's interception (missile one in this case but still).
libmgsms 3 years ago

Palin unique credentials to face such challenges.
freshfact 3 years ago
FACT CHECK:
TRUE: "Russian bombers headed to the Alaskan coast forced U.S. Air Force jets to scramble...."
FALSE: "Such pressure gives Gov. Palin unique credentials to face such challenges."
WHY? As a FEDERAL dept., the Air Force never took or received orders from Gov. Palin. She has no jurisdiction. Scrambling jets to meet foreign aircraft is Standard Op Procedure.
If all you're talking about is "the stress of potential bombing", then everyone in Alaska has the same experience.
yossarian9 3 years ago 2
FACT: The Governor and state employees routinely interface with the military and civilian base leaders and personnel in Alaska. Like any governor, she possesses detailed knowledge about those facilities.
FACT: Air Force never took or received orders from Gov. Palin.
FACT: Gov. Palin, unlike leaders from the other states, faces unique challenges when Russian bombers head toward her state.
FACT: Alaskan citizens face unique stress, and trade issues, due to their presence on the Russian border.

freshfact,
You're essentially implying that Palin has foreign policy experience based on occasional memos/briefings she gets from the Air Force.
Apart from Russian jets making random flybys in international waters (not US territory), the biggest issue between Alaska and Russia regards fishing rights.
Don't apologize for the ludicrous statement made by McCain and others, that Palin has foreign policy exp. based on Alaska's proximity to Russia.
It's an argument you can't win.

Its a fact.

That was pretty hilarious. Some people are too stupid to be on TV.

SARAH PALIN CALLS FOR WAR WITH RUSSIA

Hey, some people have enjoyed the last 8 years and want 4 more. I, personally, don't liked like being anally raped with no lube. Some people do.

Sarah Palin the conservative darling, the corruption fighting pit bull who hired a mayoral campaign supporter for a $55,000 City Engineers position who had no experience for such a position. One step away from the oval office if elected. Who would she get as Secretary of Defense? Barney Fife?
jimitl5 3 years ago 2

"But... but... she's right up there in Alaska next to Russia!"
gregtube88 3 years ago
I already know about that investigation and knew about it 3 months ago, before she was even tapped as McCain's VP choice. You seem pretty vindictive, not even researching the facts, so let me straighten that out.
This investigation is on the part of the liberals in the Alaskan legislature and was ALREADY conducted. She was fully cooperative and the investigation has been dropped, because she was well within her job duties -- unless you are more willing to believe lies rather than truths.
