I got into the Veils when i saw the awful movie 'Mr. Brooks'. Most people know that Vicious Traditions was used at the end. At that point though, i wasn't awed by them until i actually got their album and listened to it properly. Now i'm just always following what they're doing, and they're easily one of my favourite bands.

To me The Veils are the most staright up band around. That said I've thought alot about my previous comment and decided that it would be nice to see them at No. 1 but I just shudder to think of the day when The Veils become another overplayed radio song!

I too would like to see them get more recognition and be more sucessfull. I'm sure they could use the extra money. No problem with them playing in the radio as long as they didn't cater to the needs of the public and kept their creative output as honest as it's allways been...

yes the melody line is similar but not identical to heal the world but music is totally different. I personally think he has done enough to distinguish this as different. Reminds me of Oasis who get criticised for being Beatles rip offs but no one ever names a song that is a direct rip off of any Beatles one cos there simply aren't any. Great song Finn, as a musician I understand the difficulty in coming up with something stunningly original and often "rip offs" are subconcious not intentional

I guess not as many people know about the veils, heck you don't get that many good results when typing their name in on search, yet when you start going through related videos you find a heap load more songs.. type in spears or just britney and i bet you'll get in excess of 100,000 results.. easy. its a real shame that talentless tripe like that is better known that band s like the veils.

i actually like it that way, and ihope it never changes, i feel like knowing the veils is my little secret, it makes me stand out from the rest of the crowd, and its good music, i always fear the day i walk into my local newsagents and find the veils on the front cover of NME, not that it will make their music shite, i just feel like it will take away part of what i love about them, standing up to the horde of countless indie, brit-pop inmitators, hopefully that will never happen
