  • @clipto4 hahahaha.. Thank You!

  • Great! I just bought this ruff old 4 string neck and I wanna make my own banjo soon!

  • @VinnyMartello That's the way to go.. I make mine out of old 4 string necks.

  • i absalutley LOVE how you use a fork for the bridge thats sooo cool!

  • Yea I'm right into high tech stuff..

  • Not as tinny, more mellow, with a relaxing sound. I hve put them on high tension, but use monophyilament.

  • just awesome!

  • Sounds nice! And I noticed you have the same book that I have- Mel Bay's Frailing the 5-string banjo! By Eric Muller and Barbara Koehler, slowly making my way through it!

  • That is about the best book ever.. I learned a ton of stuff from that, and I love the photos! What a great book. That one is my second one. I made the mistake of loaning one out, and had to find another.

  • Glue a Schraeder (bike tire) valve to the gas cap and inflate the can with a tire pump, should pop it back out easy.

I wonder what effect leaving the air inside would have on the sound.

  • Good question. That's what I love about banjos. Always something you can do to change the sound. It's a great instrument for a mechanic...

I might try the valve stem idea on one. It would be a conversation piece, if nothing else....

  • I like that thought> could be done on plastic, under pressure

  • recycling way cool!

  • Too cool!
