I love both, the studio version and the live version! this song is awesome and johns improvised solos too! RHCP wont be the same without him... But Flea's background vocals are horrible ;D
I love every phase of the RHCP from the beginning to today but I have to say this is the best incarnation of the band: Flea, Anthony, Chad, and John.
