  • Dude the blue lighting inside would be kickass!

  • is this going 2 open this week

  • the new mark 7 monorail is opening this friday I saw it on a website

  • Yeah I saw the same thing.

  • why is the new disneyland monorail mark 7 blue under warps

  • to keep it from getting scrached

  • Apparently Mark VII Blue arrived at the Resort today and was parked in the K Lot, still on flatbed trucks covered in tarps.

  • is it really coming out april 17th

  • Looks like April 17th when it comes into service.

  • NO WAY!!!! on my birthday thats sweet!

  • is it open

  • no, but it will be at the end of April

  • is it really going open at the end of april

  • yep!

  • no, but it will be at the end of April

  • i cant wait til these get up and running

  • The hot shoes, which are located on the right side of the monorail were installed wrong. When the train first tried to run the track, all of the insulators on the roundhouse portion of the train were torn off the electric rail. The hot shoe problem is now fixed and as you can see, the train now is able to run the whole track.

  • Make up your mind. On Micechat, you said that you saw an "electrical arc" at :07. How could this be if the buss bar is on the opposite side of the beam? What you saw was actually a reflection of light.

How can you be a credible source of info if you don't even know what side of the beam the buss bar is on?

  • There is no bus bar on the monorail track, the bus bar is the box below the beam that hide the power cables. The electric rail for the monorail is 600 volts DC and will create a huge arc flash if the hot shoes lose contact with the rail. The monorail does arc flash when turning, with the panels on the body, the arc flashes are hidden because the panes curve all the way to to bottom of the body, concealing any flashes. I wish you knew more about electrical systems.

  • I'm sorry. I find it hard to find your information credible. The buss bar or "electric rail" as you call it, is on the right side of the beam. If you can't even figure out what side of the beam it's on, then you have a lot more explaining to do... Especially when you can't tell the diff btwn an electrical arc and a flash of light.

  • Whoa. No need to get all defensive. My point is that you claim to be an "expert" in this field. I'm just trying to find the right person to gain knowledge from. How can I learn from such a self-proclaimed expert if you don't even know your left from your right? And why do you assume I'm from CA? If CA is made up of people with cocky personalities, then I'm glad I don't live there.

  • I agree that it is a reflection. How can it be an elctrical arc if our disney officials explained to la times LAST WEEK that the monorail is running on its own power source? And the buss bars are on both sides for a reason. (dont ask me why).

  • chrisaustx don't be dissing us Southern Californians ALLRIGHT! And do you know why the monorail uses a DC system instead of an AC system? Take a look at a bumper car ride those too use the DC system.

  • That's a pretty quick turn around considering how hard it is to ship something of that size on a series of flatbed trucks 1500 miles away.

Any word on when Red will be placed in operation and when the other two will arrive at Disneyland, monorailfan1?

  • It indeed was sent back to get worked on. The monorail was damaged when it made a turn and was scraped up, sent back. And it's fine now.

  • Not true. Monorail Red was not sent back to Canada. There certainly have been extensive issues with the new train, but all the fixes are being done in-house.

  • Correct. Disney officials explained that red being sent back to canada was never even considered.

  • Correct. Disney officials explained that red being sent back to canada was never even considered.

  • SWEET! maybe it'll be running by the end of the month

  • That doesn't look like Canada to me!

  • It's not

  • Of course its not Canada! ;)

I doubt that this Mark VII Monorail was ever sent back, Those reports were all a bunch of Internet garbage, as usual.

  • It was not and never will be sent back.

  • Very very very cooool to see it running!!!!!!
