I love this video. It is, of course, pure BS but it does discourage Americans from using Canadian oilsands. I say keep the bitumen and refine in Canada - keep the jobs in Canada. Let the Americans freeze in the dark. By the way, refined oil from the oilsands produces only 5% more CO2 than conventional oil and 30% LESS than fracking (a common practice in the US). Keystone XL delayed due to environmental concerns and the bias unsubstantiated impact review. Actual job numbers now "hundreds" not 50 000 as stated by Fox. Transcanada stocks fell 10% last month.
Clean energy jobs surpass all fossil fuel jobs combined in the States. Brazil is 40% clean energy. EU passed clean fuel legislation despite Harper's 110 meetings to lobby against clean energy.
Build a potentially polluting pipeline across our national aquifer and bread-basket to export oil to China, where is the intellectual or business logic in that? STOP the TAR SANDS PIPELINE NOW!
Something to consider is this: It's a long way from Canada to Texas, and TransCanada proposes using a thinner metal pipe to transport it's dirty crude oil. As expensive as it will be to install such a system, you better believe that they will cut as many corners as they can to save money. They know that the money they will make in the short run, is well worth the risk of any environmental destruction.
And, I don't agree with the use of eminent domain to acquire property for their profits!
It's time to get started for alternative clean energy. This would be a good time for Obama to create much more jobs on clean energy like wind and solar energy. This would really create more jobs and improve economy.
President Carter tried to get people to switch and was tossed out of office. Wind turbines are a disgusting eye sore and produce little electricity. Now people want electric cars but have no idea how much electricity they will consume. Our planet circles the only viable source of pure renewable energy the Sun.
