My favorite, most lyric and melodramatically over-the-top Messiaen. Thank you. This share that orchestra + unison women's chorus trait with his fellow French composer Debussy (Nocturnes, III - Sirènes.) Far too few who know Messiaen know of this one: I am grateful for your giving people the opportunity. There is an affordable and wonderful re-release recording of this with Leonard Bernstein conducting the N.Y. Phil. It's theatricality was right up Bernstein's alley!
