Rats! This clip ended two lines too early: John bursts in yelling, "Mother!" and Eleanor says, "Hush, dear, mother's fighting." Possibliy the best line in the movie.
Perhaps the best movie dialogue ever. Best scene-- Henry in Prince Philip's bedroom to negotiate..."I've just won, surely you've noticed...you fumbled away all your strategy and I've told you exactly nothing, to these old eyes, boy, that's winning...."
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Especially the part, when the sons get locked in the tower with kate and she's putting her crown on so when the son comes in she says:Squint as you come towards me, as you might be blinded by my bueaty. Great movie thanks for sharing!!
Utterly incredible dialogue...non-stop twists, turns and reversals..such intense performances. I love the last scene where Henry says as Eleanor departs.."I hope we live forever..do you think there's any chance of it?"
Is it possible to make films this well today? Maybe this level of talent only comes round once a century.
Great scene but the the most beautiful one in the movie is the wedding chapel scene in which Eleanor masochistically asks Henry to kiss his mistress in front of her and then looks on in horror as they perform a mock marriage ceremony. Great movie!
Sublime movie, 7 or so oscars. Three hours of family in-fighting on a Royal scale, medieval setting that looks it. 3 hours of clever dialogue with breathtaking right angles. Did I say I love this film. I do!

Thank you for uploading this, since it is one of personal favs. I've completely forgotten, however, that Richard was played by A. Hopkins...

Good movie. I remember watching this one Sunday afternoon after the Red Sox were rained out. A perfect movie to catch unawares.

"Can't I say I love a son and be believed?" Katherine just steals every scene in this movie, she gets me chills watching her act.

Anthony Hopkins wasn't in this movie. Maybe you're thinking of Peter O'Toole?

They're both in it.

Anthony Hopkins WAS in the movie (in his film debut). He played Prince Richard, who can be seen in this scene.

He was so amazing in the betrayal scene with O'Toole.
