Tial does now offer a re-circ version of its product. I am not saying that a Tial BOV is not good - I am merely stating the obvious that on a MAF equiped car venting to air results in a lot of rich running, washing down your bores and making the car flat between shifts.
On any stock ecu car with a MAF when you release air from the system with a VTA bov this results in a sudden rich condition as the released air has already been measured and computed into the IOT calculation. For this reason a recirculating BOV is always going to run better for any car with a MAF sensor. Tial is a very good BOV for a race car or speed density referenced ecu but is less than ideal for MAF sensor cars.
Ok lets revisit BOV 101 and get everyone on the same page
On any stock ecu with a Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) every gram of air is measured and the ecu computes the amount of injector on time (IOT) needed (often described as Injector Duty Cycle (IDC) to run the car. The ecu computes the IOT needed every mili second based upon the air flow and the other sensors such as rpm, pressure (MAP), temprature (IAT) and throttle poistion (TPS).
The cops in So Cal are complete a holes no doubt. One time they gave me a group of tickets costing me over $500 becuase I was sitting on the side of the road tuning the idel on a car with a modified exhuast header and intake. Hobiests in CA certainly face a lot of large obsticles in this car modding scene, including piss water gas. At least there are a lot of hot looking women walking around there to make up for the miserable cops.
If you payed attention in the video, only half of the dyno was reading so the power needs to be MULTIPLIED by 2. The base pull was 300WHP and it made 330WHP after tuning. I gained 30whp up top, but the midrange gained 50whp. It was also about 90 degrees out.
Yea I musta put a BOV on and hurt power so bad that I only made 150whp...lol.
