I recently caught this too...it started out as a cold and thats what I thought it was but like you I looked in the mirror a few days ago and my eyes were all blood shot.So I thought it was from being sleep deprived.But I showed my mom and she said I have all the signs of conjunctives.I dont even know how I got it I wash my hands all the time and I havent been around any sick people so I am at a loss.I hope I get better soon tho it sucks when you have to wash your eyes out every five min!

I have conjunctivitis too. I got it when I cleaned my room. the dust in the air mustve flew into my eye while i was cleaning cause soon i started to sneeze then rubbing my eyes and soon ended up with pink eye. its not fun but i have washed my hands. is there any advice you can give me to help stop it from getting worse?

Its mostly from microscopic fecal matter (yup). Its everywhere, but there's NOTHING we can rlly do abt it, all. Wash ur hands but not too much (not too many times) bc ur hands have antibiotic oils on them & u dont wanna deplete the function (train it to stop producing).

I have pinkeye, now bc I drank sugar sodas & washed my hair (I don't usually drink sugars bc it drops ur immune system). 42n8ly, I HAVE some Erythromycin handy so- .

lol i washed my hands yesterday. even with Hand sanitizer.

and then i shaked hand with a guy that had been sick for like a week. now i have a pink eye...or eye infection. i dont know. i have it so often, almost every month. and i have to wear sunglasses inside. i dunno why i get it so often. many just says to me taht its a cold that infects the eye...i have to wait it out like 3-5 days to make it normal again.

Yes, the antibiotic worked very well...within a matter of 2-3 days.

I caught this recently too. It was due to a viral infection according to my doctor. This virus is apparently everywhere. So nowadays I wash my hands ALL THE TIME and try not to touch my face ever. It was a very unpleasant experience and it took me over 2 weeks to get rid of it. Really you are right - WASH YOUR HANDS!!

You are absolutely right. Mighty large jug of water you got there. I got a throat infection, in a matter of days it went into my nose, ears and both eyes. I washed my hands but somewhere along the line I must have messed it up. Earlier today what ever I have hit me hard in the stomach. This is not a good thing. Tomorrow I will call public health for the health line. Funny thing is I think I know where i picked it up. At a store where a certain woman was hacking & coughing without covering.

I caught pink eye one time when I was 13. I had a cold at the time. It spread from one eye to the other because I had been rubbing the infected eye; evidently I touched the other eye without washing my hands and the next day it was in both eyes. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE!!!

Thanks for watching & posting comments. The only thing I can suggest is for you to obtain antibiotics for your eyes, but the good stuff can only be obtained through your physician. Also, make sure your hygeine is on point...wash your hands often.

dude my newborn daughter is 2 weeks old and she just got it but hers got bad because she kept rubbing her eyes and my wife kept digging the gunk out and it just got so bad she couldnt open it so I took my daughter to the er and they cleaned it out and prescibed some ointment and stuff like that but Im not sure what kink of conjunktivitus it is but it was real bad

its ok but yea I guess the doctor told us its the bacterial kind where her tear ducts got clogged and i guess the reason this happens to new borns is because in the first month they cant produce tears so but yea anyways I just take a warm wash cloth and clean out her eyes every morning

hey sean! i just thought as i was typing to you, if other people use yopur computer keyboard that can collect bacteria! i heard that pc keyboards get well filthy with germs, you can spray clean them with alchohol spray though, jus thtought i would share an idea, incase others use your computer!

Hey man. Good to hear you're doing alright. I actually had the exact same problem as you, which starting yesterday.

Woke up, was perfectly fine, scratched my eye a bit, then it got itcher and itcher, and the next thing I know, my eye was almost completely swollen, with a little bit of yellowish goop around my eye.

Luckily I got some OTC meds, namely polysporin.

Speaking of which, how long did it take before your eye began to look better?

I know Kev, I also work in healthcare, and handwashing is a definitely a must. Keeping a variety of antibacterial lotions and soaps around the crib has become a habit!!
